Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, TopCrit, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Allama (2016 film), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Meghana Raj has been reverted.
Your edit here to Meghana Raj was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (https://www.facebook.com/MeghanaSunderRaj) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 07:46, 12 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Plagiarism on Actor's page

[edit]

Your edit on the page Akshay Kumar has been reverted. You have to support your edit with citation. On Wikipedia, specially for protected articles, the content should be supported by reference. If you can provide citation that the actor does not hold a Canadian passport (as opposed to the news circulated recently during an airport incident), you can revert by giving reference. A tag has been placed on File:Suchitra and Kamal Hassan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted content borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Page protection

[edit]

I want the page https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Meghana_Raj to be semi-protected. How to do that please? Thank you

October 2016

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Thoppil Joppan, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Diff: [1] In addition to being unsourced, your change broke the infobox. December 2016

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Meghana Raj. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! File permission problem with File:Actress Kavya Madhavan.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Actress Kavya Madhavan.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:21, 19 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Meghana Raj. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Diff: [2] Your personal observations and analysis, along with tonally inappropriate words like "failure" and "decent" don't belong in articles. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:02, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And here you didn't provide a proper reference for the subject's birthdate. There is no reference in the article labeled "HT". Cyphoidbomb (talk) 22:07, 29 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the notification. However the birth date and year was confirmed personally by Meghana Raj earlier and If I remember correctly it was already existing in the page before. Due to some reasons it was removed and I was just putting it back. TopCrit (talk) 04:29, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It can't be verified if there's no source, but I understand what you're saying. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:15, 31 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So may I know how can a date of birth be verified? TopCrit (talk) 10:21, 1 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Famousbirthdays.com as a source

[edit]

Hi TopCrit. I'm in the process of removing famousbirthdays.com as a source from Wikipedia, because it's not reliable (See Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard/Archive_153#Is_famousbirthdays.com_a_reliable_source_for_personal_information). I noticed that you've added it, and wanted to make sure you understood why it's being removed. If you disagree, let's discuss it. Thanks. --Ronz (talk) 17:52, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So how are we supposed to validate birthdays..? TopCrit (talk) 09:34, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you can't find a reliable source, you don't per WP:BLP, especially WP:DOB. --Ronz (talk) 19:59, 9 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
