Welcome!
[edit]Hi Tonymarston, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!
- Editing tutorial, learn to have fun with Wikipedia.
- Picture tutorial, instructions on uploading images.
- How to write a great article, very important!
- Manual of Style, how articles should be written.
Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :
Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. You also might want to consider visiting Wikipedia:New user log and introducing yourself. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page or simply place {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will drop by to help out. Once again, welcome! =)

Links to personal website
[edit]Please try to avoid adding external links to your personal website, or to commericial websites in which you have an interest (e.g. Radicore). The Wikipedia guidance on external links explicitly cautions against making such links, because Wikipedia policy states that Wikipedia is not a soapbox. --Allan McInnes (talk) 16:41, 16 May 2006 (UTC)
- That is not a commercial website. If you care to read it properly you will see that the software is open source under the terms of the GPL. A commercial license is available for those users for whom the GPL is inappropriate. -Tony Marston 08:51, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- It is interesting that you claim this site is "not a commercial website" but you also say "A commercial license is available." That sounds like a contradiction to me. But in anycase that really isn't important since being open source doesn't give you permission to spam Wikipedia. External link spamming is external link spamming. Please see WP:NOT and WP:SPAM. (Requestion 14:49, 4 April 2007 (UTC))
- It is not "purely commercial", it is licensed under the GPL, but with the option of a commercial license should the GPL be inappropriate. This licensing model is also used by other frameworks listed in wikipedia, so it is not unique to Radicore. - Tony Marston 09:37, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

Transaction pattern (computer science)
[edit]I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Transaction pattern (computer science), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Importance). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Transaction pattern (computer science). If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Allan McInnes (talk) 15:38, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policy for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. [1] [2] (Requestion 19:30, 3 April 2007 (UTC))
Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. radicore.org (Requestion 14:41, 4 April 2007 (UTC))
This is your last warning. The next time you insert a spam link, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted as well, preventing anyone from linking to them from any site that uses the MediaWiki spam blacklist, which includes all of Wikimedia and Wikipedia. radicore.org (Requestion 20:53, 5 April 2007 (UTC))
- All links to tonymarston.net have been removed, as requested, and replaced with links to other wikipedia articles. - Tony Marston 09:41, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Radicore
[edit]A "{{prod}}" template has been added to the article Radicore, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but yours may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- intgr #%@! 00:56, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
The file File:Form-family.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
unused, low-res, no obvious use
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 14 November 2019 (UTC)
