GA nomination of 1974–75 Buffalo Sabres season
I have reviewed your GA nomination of 1974–75 Buffalo Sabres season and have placed it on hold. Reasons are given on the review page. To summarize briefly, they are mainly stylistic and one MOS issue. In addition, I have also left suggestions for further improvement beyond GA status. Please attend to the issues as soon as possible.

File copyright problem with File:Hull House, Smith Hall.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Hull House, Smith Hall.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:38, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
Mr. Tiger, I have placed the article on hold so that you may address some concerns. Thanks, Racepacket (talk) 17:38, 6 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Louie Caporusso has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Young hockey player who does not make the current notability standard per WP:NHOCKEY of 100 games in a fully professional minor league
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Geofth (talk) 23:39, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi there, please do not add uncited ethnicity categories, specifically ones removed by other editors. You did so at DeShawn Sims when you readded the uncited African American category. It is a violation of WP:BLP. Thanks and happy editing.--TM 00:43, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
- An experienced editor like yourself should understand that if something is challenged regarding a BLP, you cannot re-add it without a citation. I've had this discussion in numerous places with other editors and the consensus has always been that if you can't WP:PROVEIT, it should not be included.--TM 01:03, 8 January 2011 (UTC)

Clint Eastwood
Hi. Give me a couple of days to do the cutting. I should be able to get most of it into good shape tomorrow.♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:06, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
OK. But most of the splitting was actually done ages ago!! That's how resourceful the article is. Too long though... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 21:30, 8 January 2011 (UTC)
I've condensed it down to 86kb at present. Nehrams may be able to get it down to 75-80kb but genuinely if it was cut to 60kb or lower it would really affect the quality and comprehensiveness of the article. Preity Zinta , an Indian actress in films since only 1998 is 73kb and that is a featured article. Clint has been in films since 1954, so naturally the article has more to discuss. One of Clint's films, Changeling (film) is also a featured article and is a whopping 121kb. I think the current length suits it fine, or at least will once Nehrams does a little further cropping.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:51, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
I've addressed virtually all of your points.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:45, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Fountain of the Great Lakes Fountain with people feeding pidgeons.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Fountain of the Great Lakes Fountain with people feeding pidgeons.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:48, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Rush Street Bridge traffic.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Rush Street Bridge traffic.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Kelly hi! 20:30, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Michigan Logo Change
I brought this up with User:Jweiss11, and he said to refer to you and User:Cbl62 for this. In August 2010, Michigan's AD changed the logo from what we currently have to the solid maize Block M (you can find the story here). I was wondering if we should try and get one uploaded with fair use and replace what we currently have for the 2010 seasons and beyond. Let me know what you think. Thanks. PR question
Hi Tony, when the bot leaves a notice on the Peer review talk page that the PR page is getting full, I will go in and do the "partial transclusion trick" for several of the largest PR pages. This transcludes only the very first part of that large peer review on the PR page, but does not actually truncate the peer review itself. If the WP:PR page gets too big, nothing transcludes on it and no one can see the PRs listed. If the largest PRs are partially transcluded, anyone can still see the intro of each (the part the nominator writes at the start), but the rest is only visible by going to the PR page for that particular PR. It also saves a lot of space. There is a tool for checking what the largest PR pages are here. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:29, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
PS The bot has not said that PR is getting full lately - last time was Dec. 26. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:36, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
GAN for Jordan Kovacs
Hi Tony, I finished my review of Jordan Kovacs and placed the GAN on hold pending resolution of a couple of issues. You can find the review here. –Grondemar 04:22, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for addressing all my issues; I have now passed the review. –Grondemar 13:42, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
GA review
Do you honestly have much experience as a GA reviewer? I have over 60 GAs and your review is definitely the most fussy I've encountered to date as is being treated almost like an FAC. You had some valid points but it is almost as if you expect perfection. The article easily meets GA requirements. The reviewer didn't fuss over passing Jordan Kovacs did he? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:37, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Most of your comments are valid, especially the ones about the major awards and nominations which weren't mentioned. I appreciate constructive criticism but it has got to the stage where it seems you are trying to "milk it for all its worth while you can" to see the article improve the most while it is still a GAN. I really think we've done enough to improve the article during this review. In any case Nehrams and I may consider improving it further in the future if it is to reach an FA article. It has a long way to go in development before then but I really think it easily meets GA criteria as it is. We are all busy so a prolonged review is starting to grate a little. There are no major issues that I can see which would be cause to fail it. You continue to say that it should be more comprehensive, but if you read the GA criteria it doesn't have to be as comprehensive as a FA. As long as the main components which effectively summarize the biography are there and it is fairly well written. Do you honestly think I'd withdraw the nomination now?♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:38, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Tony I do think you've been overly demanding with the Clint Eastwood article but I do expect reasonable standards for GAs and for them to be comprehensive. For instance Jutland (horse) passed GA yesterday which clearly fails "broad in coverage" in my view. I've opened a review on this article in which you may wish to comment.
In regards to the Eastwood article I've removed all fair use images and have added personality rights to all images. So your image request is now redundant... Please don't delay this any longer....♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:38, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Sanchez
Hello Tony, you have proposed my page Jose E. Sanchez for deletion and I have contested it because it is still pending additonal sourced materials that I have yet to include. It is still a recent page with only a week or two of duration on Wikipedia. Thank you and please check back in several months, as I constantly update the information to provide the most current and accurate information. EXIx2
Maybe?
Would you be interested in getting article Carlos Quentin to GA? Im trying to expand the coverage of Chula Vista related articles for its centennial this year but some subjects im not an expert in. I thought you would be interested since he is a White Sox outfielder. Spongie555 (talk) 04:44, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on January 30, 2011. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/January 30, 2011. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! Trump International Hotel and Tower is a skyscraper condo-hotel in downtown Chicago. The building, named after real estate developer Donald Trump, was designed by architect Adrian Smith of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. Bovis Lend Lease built the 92-story structure, which reached a height of 1,389 feet (423 m) including its spire, its roof topping out at 1,170 feet (360 m). The building received publicity when the winner of the first season of The Apprentice television show, Bill Rancic, chose to manage the tower's construction. It is the tenth-tallest building in the world and second-tallest building in the United States after Chicago's Willis Tower. Trump Tower surpassed Chicago's John Hancock Center as the building with the world's highest residence above ground-level and held this title until the completion of the Burj Khalifa. The building includes, from the ground up, retail space, a parking garage, a hotel, and condominiums. The 339-room hotel opened for business with limited accommodations and services on January 30, 2008. April 28, 2009 was the full accommodation and service grand opening. A restaurant on the 16th floor, named Sixteen, opened in early 2008 to favorable reviews. The building topped out in late 2008 and construction was completed in 2009. (more...)

WikiCup 2011 January newsletter
We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. Signups are now closed, and we have 129 listed competitors, 64 of whom will make it to round two. Congratulations to The Bushranger (submissions), who, at the time of writing, has a comfortable lead with 228 points, followed by Hurricanehink (submissions), with 144 points. Four others have over 100 points. Congratulations also go to Yellow Evan (submissions), who scored the first points in the competition, claiming for Talk:Hurricane King/GA1, Miyagawa (submissions), who scored the first non-review points in the competition, claiming for Dognapping, and Jarry1250 (submissions) who was the first in the competition to use our new "multiplier" mechanic (explanation), claiming for Grigory Potemkin, a subject covered on numerous Wikipedias. Thanks must also go to Jarry1250 for dealing with all bot work- without you, the competition wouldn't be happening!
A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round two is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 22:44, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
