[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, we would like you to assume good faith while interacting with other editors. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. 123.136.111.17 (talk) 11:48, 20 December 2017 (UTC) Hello User:123.136.111.17. I don't know who you are (since you hide behind an IP address) and why you 'welcome' me. I have made hundreds of improvements to Wikipedia pages over the past few years, *all* in good faith. I assume I got this message because of a disagreement I had with user (not editor) snapsnap. I have a reference that provides clear support for my position, but I have better things to do than have my good faith improvements be reverted by someone who thinks 'servicing to US radio' constitutes a release, whereas having a single available for download and having it chart in the UK does not. I'll try to improve Wikipedia elsewhere. Tomdejong14 (talk) 01:22, 23 December 2017 (UTC)
Discogs
[edit]Please stop using Discogs as a source and citing it in your edit summaries or on pages. It is not reliable, as it user-generated and has little editorial oversight. See WP:ALBUMAVOID. It is talked about there. As for your edits on Beyoncé discography, don't add "uncredited vocal" appearances. If it were accepted on discographies to do this, it would be there already. It is not. Thank you. Ss112 03:08, 23 December 2017 (UTC)

The article Jodie Turner-Smith has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Railfan23 (talk) 23:43, 3 August 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Kim Staunton
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Kim Staunton, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement of https://www.amazon.com/prime-video/actor/Kim-Staunton/nm0823940. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. | Naypta✉ opened his mouth at 20:07, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
This is rich... the text on Amazon Prime cannot be legally under copyright by Amazon, because it is itself an almost exact copy from a user-provided biography on IMDB. I made several edits to that text from IMDB and was in the process of rephrasing it in my own words (and adding references). Amazon never bothered to make any changes and yet they claim to have the copyright? I was hoping Wikipedia was one of the last places safe from corporate overreach. I'm sorry it isn't. Tomdejong14 (talk) 20:37, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I've addressed this in detail in a reply to the message you left on my talk page. Let's continue the discussion over there if you like :) | Naypta✉ opened his mouth at 21:01, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
I'm not sure what you were trying for there, but you made ten edits to do [| released = 11 October 1974 (UK)
21 October 1974 (US)[1] this]--please use "Preview" next time. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 02:11, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
I'm a regular contributor to Wikipedia and *always* use previews, thank you. It just so happens that I thought I found a definitive source for some additional information, only to find out that the source was contradicted elsewhere, so I had to roll back my edits to make sure I wouldn't introduce uncertain information. So what I was trying to do is keep Wikipedia a trustworthy source of verified information. Tomdejong14 (talk) 10:22, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
