Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, GCSENfoundation, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as User:GCSENfoundation/sandbox, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions ask me on my talk page or you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Kleinpecan (talk) 22:56, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:GCSENfoundation/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

Requested username:

Request reason:

Hi, I am so sorry for missing the behavioral guidelines. This is my first time submiting information to Wikipedia. I honestly didn't know the article submitted was violating the Wikipedia policies and I apologize for it. I now understand the rules and will not make the same mistake again. Can my IP address be unblocked? I would like to make contributions to Wikipedia about this foundation that teaches entrepreneurship to students and adult learners

Decline reason:

Your IP address will be unblocked when this account is unblocked, so please focus on that. You have not proposed a new username as instructed.(I've restored the block notice so you can do so) You say you understand the rules, but you indicate you wish to edit about your foundation. I'm glad it does good work, but you cannot use Wikipedia to tell about the good work it does. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about(in this case) an organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Wikipedia has no interest in what an organization wants to say about itself; you are free to do that on social media or your own website. Please review conflict of interest and paid editing. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your foundation; if that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road for your Wikipedia career. If you want to be an individual, general contributor, please tell what topics unrelated to your conflict of interest you will edit about along with your proposed new username. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:22, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thank you for clarifying and taking the time to review my request. I apologize about the username, I missed what I had to do and how I had to do it. I would like to contribute to Wikipedia by adding images to existing articles, I'd like to write about the art and culture of the United States in a neutral and historical voice, and I also would like to edit historical events that may be wrong or misleading. Just to clarify, I am no longer trying to promote the good work of any organization or myself on Wikipedia thanks to your clarifications. The new username I will have is tomcup1. Again, thank you for your time and for being clear about the Wikipedia behavioral guidelines. I recognize it was my job to read the guidelines before posting something. I will continue to read more about the rules so we avoid another conflict like this in the future. Thank you!
