Hi Tom.garraway,

I recently flagged up a copyright concern on the Landegg International University article. You have responded, in the article itself, that the Bahai newsleteer have given you permission to use their text. Unfortunately things are never that simple. Wikipedia only uses freely available content. You may want to take a look at the guidance in WP:COPYREQ. Wikipedia would need to obtain written permission to use the copyrighted content. Without the evidence of a free license the text should not be allowed to remain and is likely to be removed by someone at some point.

An alternative solution would be to re-write the offending sections of the article in your own words. All the best. Sionk (talk) 16:11, 12 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sionk,

Thanks for your advice.

I have contacted the editor of One Country seeking permission to use extensive quotations from their article. I modeled my letter on thos give in guidance from Wikipedia and I also sent them a copy of Wikipedia's model "permission".

Cheers! Tom.garraway (talk) 12:44, 21 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but we have very specific licensing requirements, and we are not able to incorporate content under the conditions they require. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. If they wish to permit us to liberally use their content, they must provide us clear license, such as that given at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. Pending that release (which should be mailed to permissions-en@wikimedia.org), the content has had to be removed. Please do not put it back yourself; if the publication is willing to provide the license we require, the representative who receives their permission will process it. Alternatively, if they are willing to publish the required license at their online publication, if you drop me a note at my talk page (which you can reach by following "talk" after my username), I'll be happy to help restore it in compliance with the license. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:03, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
