If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Yvan Forclaz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. COI

[edit]

Thanks for your message. You refer to him throughout by his first name and appear to know his "passions" and his life history. You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If you are him, or if you work directly or indirectly for him or an associated organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you him or if you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Toldo83. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Toldo83|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines for people. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to him or his organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing him. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. You page had not a single independent third-party source, such as newspaper coverage to support what you claim
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Your text had a promotional tone, eg is becoming notorious... a chair lift invention... His passions... was easy to pilot... The invention was unique.
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections. Yours was sprinkled with spam links to your own sites
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • I didn't check the text, but your images have copyright problems. The portrait has no source information, and will be deleted on that basis, since it will be assumed to be copyright. The bike image has a supposed source, but I can't see that image on the page, which is in any case tagged 2017 © Joystickbike and can't be used here since it's not public domain.
  • You have had the page restored once, and the article is still unsourced gossip. We cannot keep hosting this sort of stuff indefinitely.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. If you still wish to proceed after reading everything I've put here, I'll restore the text as draft, without the images or the url links. You must also reply to the COI request above. Let me know if you still want to proceed. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:53, 5 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Jimfbleak - talk to me?, I am sorry for my late answer but I am not Yvan Forclaz. I am Francesco Mazzilli and here it is my linkedin webpage https://www.linkedin.com/in/francesco-mazzilli-phd-5a616a8/ (believe it or not). I met Yvan Forclaz at the bicycle exposition in 2017 in Lausanne (https://www.salon-du-velo.ch/) and we had a small chat. I did my search on Google to find articles related to Yvan and there are local journal in Switzerland that talked about him. Maybe is joystick bike is not as popular as the smartphone, however I feel he deserve recognition as inventor. In addition, I am updating my personal webpage in wikipedia as you suggested. Can I continue to improve the Yvan Forclaz page? Do I need to provide any additional information to prove that I am not in a COI?

I wasn't alerted to your message above because although you linked my user name, you didn't sign it. You can try again, but you must follow the guidance above. Your first attempt was unreferenced, promotional in tone, had spam links in the text and gave no indication of how he met the notability criteria I've linked above. Note that having a patent isn't notable Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:30, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your message. Not a lot to add to the guidance above. First, you must check that he meets the notability criteria I've linked above. If he doesn't you will be wasting your time. Next you need to find proper references that aren't associated with him, interviewing him or similar. Local sources are unlikely to be adequate, you need the equivalent of national newspapers. You don't need to mention COI now you have clarified that you are not him. Also note what I said about images. If you still wish to proceed, you should create your draft at Draft:Yvan Forclaz or User:Toldo83/sandbox. See Pamela C. Rasmussen as an example of a biography.
