Vandalism

[edit]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jawed Karim. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you.
As explained before, long-time sources deny your claim that this person is only German or not Bangladeshi. Please use the talk page if you are proposing this change. I already mentioned this in the edit summary, but you've ignored me and continued changing the content. --G&CP (talk) 12:50, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for using the edit summary "see https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability#General_notability_guideline" when you recently removed content from Jawed Karim. The removed content has been restored because notability guidelines govern what topics should have stand alone articles, they do not apply to content within articles. So although you may be right that his parents are not notable, it's perfectly proper to mention them in an article about him so long as the informaiton is reliably sourced. If you think content should be removed for other reasons, I suggest you open a discussion on the article's talk page. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:52, 14 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Jawed Karim, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 06:57, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Jawed Karim, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tobywilliams. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Jawed Karim, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. You have only edited this article which is unusual. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 10:44, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do not edit war

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Jawed Karim. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. --Worldbruce (talk) 12:41, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at Jawed Karim. --Worldbruce (talk) 05:47, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Jawed Karim, as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 10:26, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for long-term disruptive editing, including edit-warring, removing content and valid sources, attempting to suppress information about a person's ethnic background, and failure to give any meaningful explanation for your persistent content removal. Taking all factors into account, your editing amounts to vandalism. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 12:14, 27 September 2017 (UTC).[reply]
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.
