Update on "Dwight Lauderdale"

Toby, okay, I made the changes you mentioned. I DID change "started out" to "began a career as", however I did not change "wound up" to "evolved to", that sounded a bit archaic, I DID however change it to a more neutral (and less slang) "and became". Take a look and see what you think.
