Welcome!

Hello, Tnoll82, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for helping us build a great free encyclopedia. We have five basic principles, but other than that, we advise that you be bold and edit. If you ever have any questions or need help, feel free to leave a message at the help desk, and other Wikipedia editors will be happy to assist you.

Thanks again and congratulations on becoming a Wikipedian!

P.S. New discussion threads for you will appear at the bottom of this page.

Hello, Tnoll82, and thank you for your contributions!

I wanted to let you know it seems an article you worked on, Stony Valley Railroad Grade, is copied from another Wikipedia page, Cumberland Valley Rail Trail. It's fine to do this as long as you provide the following information in the edit summary:

  1. a link to the article you copied from
  2. the date you copied it

You can do this now by editing the page, making any minor edit to the article, and adding the above information into the edit summary.

If you're still not sure how to fix the problem, please leave a message at the help desk. It's possible that I made a mistake, so feel free to remove the tag I placed on the article.

A suggestion for the future

[edit]

Nice work on Stony Valley Railroad Grade, it looks like it is coming along nicely.

I'm here because the article shows up in the Copyright problems backlog.

I think I know why. When you started this article, you used Cumberland Valley Rail Trail as a model, and then made changes. Unfortunately, this approach meant that early versions of the article were flagged as a copyright issue. This is because that article is itself a possible copyright problem. However, even if it wasn't, using it as a model in article space will generate copyright problems.

I know I personally find it useful to use something else as a model, and make changes, so I can't criticize the general approach, but when I do so, I try to do it outside of Wikipedia, so the original material isn't in the history.

Keep up the good work, but I urge you to make sure to remove all traces of another article before moving a draft to article space. Please let me know if my advice isn't clear.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 13:15, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
