Your recent editing history at Upendra shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Drmies (talk) 04:23, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- This is absolutely ridiculous! Most unimaginable! You are warning me? On What ground? --Tito Dutta ✉ 04:27, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Eh, on this ground. Even a blind man can see you're edit-warring. I could have blocked you on the spot. The longer answer is at ANI. Drmies (talk) 04:33, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Tito, I watch WP:ANI and User talk:Drmies, and so have seen this thing. Your edit summary here says that the issue(s) have been "discussed many times" but in fact the only "discussion" in is edit summaries & indeed you refer to them. Edit summaries are not in fact discussion. If you want to avoid accusations of edit warring then you really need to raise the problems on the article talk page quite early in the dispute otherwise you're as liable to be blocked as anyone else. - Sitush (talk) 04:40, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I tried to talk to this editor multiple times, see User_talk:Abhijit_puranik#July_2012, also see here User_talk:Subhash_Chandra_Gandhi#WP:RS, here User_talk:Subhash_Chandra_Gandhi#July_2012 also see my frustration here: User_talk:Callanecc#Three_revert_rule.21 etc--Tito Dutta ✉ 04:44, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Titodutta, you know I respect you and have nothing but high praise for you and our relationship. So, when I say you have erred, please don't take it the wrong way. You are in an edit war. It doesn't matter who started it or who is right. After you have done the 2nd revert, you shouldn't revert again. I've found it doesn't matter how well you explain things or how many times you revert, some people will not get it or listen to reason. Boy, it is tempting to keep reverting, but it won't do any good. Instead, if they still revert, it's time to call for help. I've asked Drmies before for advise. He has told me I've been wrong. But, when he thinks there is a case, he will either step in or give some advise. The majority of the time, the person will stop reverting after another person gets involved. Unfortunately, I've been involved where people end up getting blocks. So, the next time ask for help instead of doing the 3rd revert. Bgwhite (talk) 04:54, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- But, this is absolutely frustrating for me. For the first time I have been feeling I have wasted two years here. That editor has at least 5 WP:SOCK accounts, has uploaded same copyrighted image at least 10 times (every time deleted), every time you say something, he just creates a new account, and you are warning me? --Tito Dutta ✉ 04:59, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Oh boy is it frustrating. There are sockpuppets involved. The other editor is wrong for adding the copyrighted material. You got slapped with a threatening message. There is no denying what you were trying to do was the right thing. However, you were going about it the wrong way. Drmies message about the block is the standard cookie-cutter message that Twinkle produces. Don't look at it as he was threatening you with a block. It was just the standard message. He was saying to stop edit warring. It wouldn't have mattered how many times you reverted. There is no way of getting this settled on your own because the other person was irrational. Now that some admins are involved this will get settled. Next time this happens, and there will be a next time, just ask for help after the 2nd revert. Bgwhite (talk) 05:14, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, I did warn you, for a very good reason: because I don't want to block you! Those other accounts could have been blocked already if you had started an SPI or used other venues, and then none of this would have happened. You asked for advice from Callanecc, but they have 6000 edits and aren't an admin--besides filing an SPI you could have posted a message at the 3RR noticeboard, at AIV, or if you thought this was a BLP issue (and I think you did) you could have tried WP:BLPN. That's at least four options, each of which would have gotten an admin involved much earlier in the process. Yes, Bg, if I or any other admin had known about this earlier we would have stepped in to stop the disruption and to protect Titodutta, whom I know as an editor of good faith, from getting entangled in this edit war. Drmies (talk) 05:18, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- And again, after Bg's message: yes, that is exactly why I gave you a warning and responded to you as quickly as I could at ANI. Now, go file that SPI, the sooner the better! Drmies (talk) 05:18, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Yes, file a WP:SPI. If you haven't done one before, this will give you training. Post here that you completed it then we can add our comments to the SPI. Oh joy, this is the side of Wikipedia I hate. Bgwhite (talk) 05:31, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Me, too. I've always thought Tito to be a good faith contributor. FWIW, Tito, I've been nudged by admins before now: they have a role and cannot be seen to take sides if they want to use their mop. - Sitush (talk) 06:03, 10 July 2012 (UTC)

Misuse of rollback
I've removed the rollback flag from your account because you have used it in an edit war on Upendra. There's more commentary at ANI. Keilana|Parlez ici 04:35, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you Keilana. Drmies (talk) 04:46, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- Restoring rollback I am restoring rollback because I think this is a grey area where a reasonable person would've made the same decisions you made. There are several issues to consider when judging if this was edit warring including whether socking of a banned user or copyright infringement is involved. Both issues have come up. I think you were indeed wrong to use the rollback tool here, Keilana and Drmies are right about that. However, I think removing the tool is too harsh for the situation at hand. I want you to know that this is a grey area and you should be careful not to strafe into this again. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.--v/r - TP 19:05, 10 July 2012 (UTC)
- I do admit the mistake of using rollback option there. After yesterday's reminder my immediate reaction was– "oops, I read it in guidelines, but, I forgot". If this was an edit-warring then my use of rollback was an abuse (can you say "mistake" please?). But, I feel these were vandalism. There are more issues which have not been discussed, he has uploaded same copyrighted image 7-8 times using a new file name each time, more sock accounts (I doubt), details in ANI page. I was looking for a very quick way to revert edits. Twinkle's "restore this version" does not work for my account/computer (really, Twinkle's "restore this version" and Cite web reference's "Show more fields" these options don't work for me.) I request to fully unprotect the page and wait for few days and then decide yourself– was it a vandalism or simple edit warring with so many issues involved: 1) Copyvio 2) Sockpuppetry 3) Copyright violated image uploading multiple times 4) Continuous use of WP:MIRROR etc! --Tito Dutta ✉ 01:05, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have no problem with it being restored, Titodutta, and I'll gladly concede that it was a grey area. As you may have seen by now a couple of your opponents are gone for good and now that there's an SPI with some established CU evidence it will be much easier to keep things in check. I found your article very useful and i appreciate your effort in uploading and updating the article on sari. I found some infos omitted and i think you need more indepth research on the evolution of sarees in INDIA.

If you find enough interest, please participate in copyediting the article. It is currently in peer review, and I am hoping some non-Indian editor to do some peer review. MirrorLink - Article for Creation
I have created another AfC MirrorLink. Kindly take some time to review and leave your comments. I am a little surprised that such a widely spoken about technology with numerous google search results is still not up at Wiki. Policies shouldn't become so intricate that they make the system slow & inefficient. Wonder which WP policy did I overlook this time. -Ambar wiki (talk) 14:22, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- I do not know very much about this topic. I do not have a smart phone. But I am confused does it spell MirrorLink or Mirror Link? You have used both in the article. I can see, your afc request (this time) is awaiting review. Try to add more content and reliable sources. Have you browsed news.google.com? --Tito Dutta ✉ 15:32, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Good point raised about the MirrorLink & Mirror Link words, & the correct form is MirrorLink (as represented in the logo), as Mirror Link could also in general apply to normal mirroring in case of PCs etc. Haven't browsed news.google.com & will try that now and see what comes up. Will also correct Mirror Link ==> MirrorLink in the article. -Ambar wiki (talk) 11:54, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

- I'll do that. I have two questions on this page, 1) Name of page 'Battle for Delhi' is not sounding appropriate as there are two other pages on 'Battle of Delhi'. If an other name comes to mind cosidering its importance, will we be able to change it at a later time. 2) I want to put a link to Google Maps of the area, out side Tughlakabad in Delhi, where the battle took place. How would that be possible.Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 08:32, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Have you seen this article: Battle of Delhi? Please mention in which years two battles were fought? Is there any relation between Battle of Delhi 1556 and Battle of Panipat, 1556?--Tito Dutta ✉ 08:36, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- In fact there are 4 'Battle of Delhi' pages/references, one in 1399 when Taimur attacked Delhi, 1803 Anglo-Marahta war, 1737 Marahta-Mughal war, and 1857 Indian rebellion v/s British, battle. I named this page as 'Battle for Delhi' considering that it could look different and not becomes confusing with other wars. But it did not happen. I find need for a distinct name if possible.
Battle for Delhi in 1556, and 2nd Battle of Panipat(1556) are two entirely different battles. After Delhi battle 1556, which was Hemu's 22nd continuous victory, the Hindu king Hemu defeated the Mughals and had his 'coronation' in Purana Quila, Delhi. But in Battle of Panipat 1556, he lost the battle and was killed giving a decisive victory to Mughals. Only relation was that Hemu was common in both, their armies changed. In Panipat battle Akbar and Bairam Khan were also there.Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 09:58, 12 July 2012 (UTC) I prepared WP:LEAD, please see if it is OK or need some change.Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 11:33, 12 July 2012 (UTC) Page on 'Battle for Delhi' is now almost complete. Please see if tag on references, citations at the top could be removed now. Also, regarding changing the heading of the page, I am not aware of the rules at Wikipedia, but if I could propose the name as 'Hemu's Battle for Delhi' or 'Medieval Battle for Delhi' to differentiate it from other Battles of Delhi, mentioned above.Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 06:55, 19 July 2012 (UTC) I have already written WP:LEAD, please see. If you want some major change in that, please advise. Also, please advise on changing the heading of the page.Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 07:43, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

- In my Commons userpage I have started gathering some links, you can see there Commons:User:Titodutta --Tito Dutta ✉ 07:26, 15 July 2012 (UTC)
- Sure, will try and search if I can come up with the biographical details. Just wanted to ensure that since its a BLP, maybe its better to avoid an exact date. Anyways, will update as soon as I have a credible source. How can I search wikipedia for an image of Sopori that may already be uploaded on commons. -Ambar wiki (talk) 07:24, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

Empty watchlist! Any suggestion?
I have almost 3000 pages on my watchlist now. Everytime I sign in I find my watchlist flooded. I am planning to remove all pages from watchlist (including my subpages too). Has anyone tried it? Any suggestion? --Tito Dutta ✉ 18:15, 15 July 2012 (UTC)

- And about WP:HIGH - (1) The copyeditor barnstar. Your reply was very innocent and it made me laugh a lot.(2)
No space (indent) at the beginning of a sentence please!
(and (3) this same section). They made me laugh, especially as a relief after feeling the harshness of the 3R. VanischenumTalk 20:27, 21 July 2012 (UTC)- After writing this I put a whole WikiProject articles into my watchlist. Unfortunately there weren't much edits in the project which gave unnoticeable changes in my watchlist. So, I created an outdoor recentchanges based watchlist in my user subpage per Help:Watching articles. Then replaced my old watchlist content back in (I had a backup). A few edits later, I came here and saved the page in your style Alt⇧ Shifts. :) That editing of raw watchlist worked pretty good to me.VanischenumTalk 10:09, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

Hello Tito Dutta
Still trying to find an image of Pracheta Gupta. No luck till now. Need some more time. Want to include an image of Debsankar Halder. I have an image which appeared in the invitation card of a theatre festival. Will that do?
I can provide the names of books written by Mridul Dasgupta along with the publishers name. Most books are of the 70's and early 80's and do not have ISBN number. Will that do? Debi gupta (talk) 09:42, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Gandhi in Gita
The Bhagavad Gita article refers to Gandhi as Mahatma Gandhi, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and just Gandhi. Do we need to choose only one name for the sake of consistency. If yes, then do we call him Mahatma/Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi in the first instance and call him Gandhi throughout the rest of the article? The case with Aurobindo is similar. He is called Sri Aurobindo and Aurobindo interchangeably. CorrectKnowledge (talk) 06:04, 22 July 2012 (UTC)

The tale of two lost....
History...it is not just a piece of a past written on papers..but it is a thing which is to inspire the next generations for years to come..it is a thing to feel...thing to love and admire at. Literary history, political history, economical and social history, architectural history, archaeological history and more...so please do your bit to promote history..as the ambitions related to it are going low....
Heritage....is not just a piece of masonry...but our culture, mannerisms, ideologies, food habits, religion and more....so please do your bit to conserve it....
Just an initiative led by me - a history buff and heritage lover - to promote the diverse culture of India, which is diminishing its glory amidst foreign cultures....
Go, spread this message to others...but the "ultimate choice" lies upon you

- Ok, wording changes done in lead and first paragraph of History section. I borrowed freely from India. The wordings there were painstakingly chiseled out through long debates and in-depth work led by Fowler & Fowler. The article had gone through a DETAILED FA review. So, these wordings are pretty much standard, and accepted by the community.
- Of course, there is the revolutionary movements, but their contribution to the final independence is minimal compared to INC and other mainstream players, according to globally accepted secondary and tertiary sources. So, in this small lead and one paragraph of history, it may be difficult to nicely accommodate them. I will still try to somehow find some wording to use in the "History" section; but they are not notable enough for the lead.
- On Suman's song, that is actually one of my favourite. I very often play that one while driving alone to or from work!--Dwaipayan (talk) 17:52, 24 July 2012 (UTC)
Another KP marked by me
Hi Tito, have done some stuff at P.N. Haksar, & would look forward to your comments on how its coming about. Its still WIP, so atleast another 2-3 days before the final version is ready. But any inputs at this time would go a long way to help me improve it better. My list of pending articles that I am looking to improve / create is still too long, & was wondering if there is anyplace on wiki where such ideas could be delegated / shared. I have also listed down several articles that I have improved (some have really been taken from virtually nothing to quite something, or so I would like to think). A quick visit perhaps when you are less busy with BG. Thanks. -Ambar (talk) 17:14, 24 July 2012 (UTC)

Manusmriti
Dear Tito Dutta, I find that you visited this page recently. It has many discrepencies on 'Caste System'. I did not find any caste system in Manusmriti. It is only a division of community in 4 classes on the basis of their work. Also, the lowest class had the right to qualify to become Brahmin, by fulfilling three conditions. A Brahmin could lose status if not educated etc. etc. I want to put these facts on the page giving references of shaloks in Manusmriti. I also find that references 15,16,17,18 on that page are absolutely wrong. Could be delebrately cooked up. Please advise.Sudhirkbhargava (talk) 09:45, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

- Its complete now. You can try {{subst:The Karma Yogi Barnstar|1=Put your message here. ~~~~}} CorrectKnowledge (talk) 17:27, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- Try {{subst:The Karma Yogi Barnstar}} anywhere on wikipedia. CorrectKnowledge (talk) 17:15, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- I have added the barnstar to Wikipedia:Personal_user_awards#Topic-related_awards. You should also move the code related to the barnstar, to a separate subpage. I will add a wikilink to the subpage in the PUA. CorrectKnowledge (talk) 16:51, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- Modifications in your sandbox, reply on my page. CorrectKnowledge (talk) 15:17, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
- Have a look at your sandbox. I have made the changes there. CorrectKnowledge (talk) 15:01, 25 July 2012 (UTC)

- I have removed a couple of unreliable external links that were used as references and shortened the modern commentaries section as per our discussion earlier. I think we can retain the bhagavad-gita.org links because the website is maintained by Bhagavad-Gita Trust 1998 - 2009 U.S.A, which seems as reliable a primary source as Gita press. It is referred to in this paper by the U.S. National Institute of Health. Please have a look at the article and if possible, list the major problems that still exist in the article talk page. Thanks. - If you are not busy could you specify in some detail, what work still needs to be done. CorrectKnowledge (talk) 14:26, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
Approach for help
Hello there, I was going though some articles which I can edit when I found out that Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology and Sikkim Manipal University have been lying Stub for several months. Nobody took care about it. I'd be more than happy to take on these two articles but due to the lack of content I cannot proceed. I'd be glad if you kindly help me either with some resources or fellow Wikipedians, who can help me in editing and making these a fine Wikipedia articles.
