Welcome

Welcome!

Hello, Titodutta, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like Wikipedia and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place helpme on your talk page and ask your question there. Again, welcome!  - Ahunt (talk) 12:55, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Help request

I can't understand where to add signature giving ~~~~ while editing an article. Shall I include it in the article (but, then it is becoming directly and unwanted visible in the article itself)

Also tell me, I want to add some audio files (as the name of Satyajit ray is given in 1 article, how shall I include that? Where shall I upload that ogg audio file? Can I upload wav or mp3 format? Detailed information please. Thanks!

Hi there, welcome to Wikipedia. No, you do not include it in the article, we only sign our edits on talk pages. See Help:Sound file markup for information on adding audio files to articles. You can upload .ogg files here to Wikipedia but Wikimedia Commons is preferred. You can upload .wav or .mp3 format but .ogg is preferred. See Wikipedia:Media help for more help. There is also a dedicated help board for media-related copyright questions at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- œ 08:03, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

After making an edit how and where can I ask an editor to verify/check the edit? (For example: I have just uploaded this file, but, want to learn, is this the right way to write info about the file? etc)

Don't forget to sign your comments on talkpages! (this is a talkpage!)

License tagging for File:Sukumar Ray.ogg

Thanks for uploading File:Sukumar Ray.ogg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:05, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:Sukumar Ray.ogg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:37, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:56, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Help Needed On Signature

My current signature is Tito Dutta (User) (Talk). It is not working sometimes. and second link is coming in bold letters. Is the reason is, "Talk" has been used once already in the same section? How to avoid it?
--Tito Dutta (User) (Talk) 15:00, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

When a link is to a page that the link itself is placed on, it is shown in boldface rather than as a link. Thus, whenever you post to your talk page, the link to your talk page will show in boldface. You can make the link appear even on your talk page by adding #top to it: (Talk).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 15:24, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, marking it as resolved. Tito Dutta (Talk)

I didn't mean you needed to remove the first link to you user page as you seem to have done, but only that you could add #top to the talk page part! That is, Tito Dutta (User) (Talk) should work fine. Cheers.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk)

And where is the (how to add) timestamp? - Tito Dutta (Talk)

You can add a timestamp at the end with ~~~~~ (five tildes). You realize you can just use the default signature which already places links to your talk page and user page and the timestamp which is little different than the tailored one you're placing? Just remove the checkmark from "Treat the above as wiki markup".--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:38, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks!
Tito Dutta (Talk)16:43, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

You're welcome. By the way, there's nothing wrong with the way you've been replying but I thought you'd like to know the normal method we use for talk page conversations. Typically after a first post the reply is placed directly underneath it indenting one level further and the reply to that is indented one level further and so on. An indent is done with colons (":"s), adding one more for each level, so here the format of a typical conversation:

First person

Second person
First person
Second person
First person
Second person

And this was done like this:
First person
:Second person
::First person
:::Second person
::::First person
:::::Second person--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:59, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! I am not re-editing this section, or your last post will be meaningless. From next time, I'll follow First Person >> :Second person >> ::First person style.

Help On New Tab And Adding New Sections In Info Box

How to do this styling (open in a new tab) in Wikipedia <a href="#" target="_blank">Text</a> in Wikipedia? Please show an example by giving code to open this in a new tab Titodutta (That is: Titodutta)

Also tell me, in some articles, in infobox, I want to add more sections, (For example- for author- "language Of Writing" etc etc), but, those extra fields are not coming in infobox. Why? And what to do here?

opening in a new tab is prohibited/not achievable.
The infobox parts are defined by any other user. Start a discussion at the talkpage of the infobox. maybe you can get a consent for new fields, but I doubt that. mabdul 18:26, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Help On Removal/Revision Request

I want to challenge some information of this page. This page has a list of notable Bengali people with surname Chatterjee. But, some entries there seem to be advertising (mean, any people with surname Chatterjee has included his/her (or his/her friend's name(s)) there) I have already mentioned it in the article's Talk Page. Is there any other way to request a removal/revision? Tell me the procedure in details (tutorial page will be fine), --Tito Dutta (Talk)07:37, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I agree, and I have pruned the list to leave only those who already have articles. In general, if you see a change which you think would improve the encyclopedia, you can be WP:BOLD and make it, though if it might be controversial it can be sensible to propose it on the talk page (as you did here) and wait to see if there are any objections. If you boldly make a change and someone reverts it, the important thing is not to re-revert, which could lead to an WP:Edit war, but to discuss it on the talk page and try to reach WP:Consensus with other editors. This is all explained at WP:BOLD, revert, discuss cycle. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:49, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Talkback

Hello, Titodutta. You have new messages at Ragib's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the Talkback or Tb template.

Also, you should definitely check out the Bengali wikipedia. --Ragib (talk) 14:51, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

It was in my watchlist, yet thanks for alerting. Tito Dutta (Talk)15:02, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I meant that you should also consider contributing to the Bangla Wikipedia http://bn.wikipedia.org . There is an active wikipedian community in West Bengal who regularly hold meetings/workshops etc in Kolkata and nearby areas. --Ragib (talk) 15:09, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll surely think of it. Tito Dutta (Talk) 15:15, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Help On A Reverse Redirection

In Wikipedia, there is a well written article on a tollywood actor. His name is often misspelled - Prasenjit/Prosenjit etc. The Wikipedia article is Prasenjit Chatterjee and Prosenjit is redirected to this article. But, I have checked this Tollywood actor's personal official website. And according to that website, the spelling of his name is "Prosenjit" and not "Prasenjit". So, I feel, the main article should be Prosenjit and Prasenjit should be redirected to that which is exactly the opposite of what it is now. Also note if it is true, then the whole article should be thoroughly revised before reverse redirection, as throughout the article the spelling "Prasenjit" has been used which is incorrect according to the actor's personal website.

So, what to do? And how to do?

Note: I have mentioned this in the article's talk page already.

Tito Dutta (Talk) 16:47, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I have requested to move the page to Prosenjit Chatterjee. You can support the move at the article's talk page. Arfaz (talk) 17:55, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. I have supported it in the talk page. And also marking this as answered.--Tito Dutta (Talk)18:00, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:CAB_WB.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:CAB_WB.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 04:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

I uploaded this image for Cricket Association Of Bengal infobox, later found the whole infobox is messed up, with some incorrect information like- "Korbo, lorbo, Jitbo" is the motto of Kolkata Knight Riders and not CAB. So, I was busy in verifying other information like phone number, address etc mentioned in the the infobox. That's why, it took some time. Anyway, I have placed the logo in the article and requested in talk page to revise the information. Thanks. --Tito Dutta (Talk)05:15, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! But, but that's the thing I am doing now. but, most of the images I need are not available there. They are available in Flickr (and Picasa). That's why I am trying to use FIST. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:15, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Non-free images

I've reverted your addition of the film poster/DVD cover to the Juhi Chawla article as all non-free images require fair use rationales for each article they are used in. Also, typically this kind of an image would not qualify for use in actor/actress articles. You can get more info at WP:NFCC. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 13:52, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

In that case you may need to check more thing. I did not upload the image. I took it from another Wikipedia article as that film is one of best films of the career of the actress. Thanks! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 14:04, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Sandip Ray.png

Thanks for uploading File:Sandip Ray.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

 1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add , without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
 2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. We hope (talk) 14:23, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Help: Kolkata

Hi Tito!!
Please help updating the article Kolkata, because useless information with improper English has been added on the second paragraph by User:Kkm010. Actually, I don’t know much about the history of Kolkata, so I want you update it. I have corrected most of the grammatical errors on the second paragraph.
(Since that’s a featured article I am giving a notice to some of the Bengali editors.)
Thanks!

Under discussion in Swami Vivekananda article --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:25, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
Tito, this was an image where your source was a Public domain image. Therefore, you don't need to tag it with FUR. You can upload such images under the same license of your source file (which is in Commons) and was under the provision of PD-old. Also, in such cases where your source file is in Commons, it is best if you upload the derivative file there as it keeps the tracking of images and licenses easy. Use the FUR tag only when you are uploading an image which is not in public domain or not covered by CC-BY-SA licenses and you have sufficient reason to use them on Wikipedia as listed at WP:NFCC. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 13:11, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Tito, do you by chance have any other image of the above actor? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:22, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

No, I do not have. Sorry! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 11:20, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Please do not delink simply because there is no target article. This is a normal part of growing Wikipedia. wp:REDLINK refers. Of course it is fine to do so if the target article will never be created (e.g. topic would not be notable) but in that case, we should also consider whether the text itself is meaningful.LeadSongDog come howl! 12:38, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Oh! In Wikipedia everyone has his or her own opinion. Few weeks ago, I was saying exactly the same thing and then I was told, red links should be removed.

And about the Swami Vivekananda article, in discussion page it was concluded that the page is already flooded with links. So, in attempt to make the page clean, we have cleared some unexisting links! Thanks! Tito Dutta (Talk) 13:19, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

If the de-linked people are not notable, why not remove their mention from the article entirely, not just de-link them? Conversely if they are notable, why not find a source that notes them and stub out an article? The redlink provides the mechanism for prompting editors to start that stub. These are frequently the way that new editors get started. LeadSongDog come howl! 19:17, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

Improve: Kolkata Metro

Hi Tito!
We need to improve the articles related to Kolkata Metro. There are many stubs related to Kolkata Metro. Check out the artilces on the template below:

Regards,
Guitarist(talk|contributions)04:25, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

I don't know very much about the subject. I can check the route section of it (using Kolkata Metro website as reference if necessary). Will that be okay? Tito Dutta (Talk) 04:41, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
Ya sure, any good source will do, we will just have to improve the articles adding more details and references.
Regards,
Guitarist(talk|contributions)05:19, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
I'll start the work very shortly. Thanks! -Tito Dutta (Talk)16:24, 22 July 2011 (UTC)
I am getting confused. The whole route section of this article needs to be revised. For example, Rabindra Sarobar Metro station has been linked like this Rabindra Sarobar metro station Rabindra Sarobar is linked to Rabindra Sarobar (place) and Metro station is linked to the article Rabindra Sarobar Metro station. I think it should be Rabindra Sarobar metro station. The same (or worse) is throughout the section. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 02:53, 24 July 2011 (UTC)~
Ya, I saw that. You can use the template till the page gets updated. You can contact User:Khatbhej, he created the page Kolkata Metro Line 1.

Guitarist(talk|contributions)04:44, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Tito!
Ya, that’s surely an advertisement, I have gone through the first reference and didn’t even find even her name on the Times of India article and other two are 404 Error (Page Not Found). Also, I didn't find anything related to that on Google. I think, that should be marked as db-spam, db-nonsense or db-person.
Regards,
Guitarist(talk|contributions)10:13, 27 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Tito!

 • The suggested syntax is fine. We can make the changes after the dicussion is over.
 • Well, the sites are outdated. I am trying to find some sources from news websites. You can also try finding on The Telegraph (Kolkata), The Times of India or any other website where you can find some good source.

I was just surprised after tracing the IP address in www.IP2Location.com. Thanks for reporting.Guitarist(talk|contributions)09:07, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
General IP tracing generally are useless, IP trace does not necessarily trace user's home location, but it traces IP originating area and most of the IP addresses cover a large area (specially for Dynamic IP address). For example I live in Jadavpur (Kolkata), but, if you trace my IP address, you'll get the location Bangalore. Learn about Dynamic IP Address. But, the trace here does not seem to be wrong. The ISP (internet service provider) is located in Pakistan. I have never heard about that ISP in India. If the company is not providing service in India too (directly/indirectly), then the tracing country is correct. But, I am sure about the traced city still, I feel IP originating area has been traced, not user location. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 09:26, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Thats true but the country should remain the same. And when you use BSNL Broadband connetion (land connection) it normally shows the correct place, but the IP adresses of Tata Photon users vary, but I dont think that the country will get changed.
Guitarist(talk|contributions)09:55, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Hi Tito!

 • Thats great! Keep contributing. You dont need to worry about the auto-complete it will come automatically after a few days. But do add some more references.
 • You are welcome to contribute about bangla band, you can help me in expanding and adding references in the following articles:
 1. Bangla Rock
 2. Five Little Indians
 3. Krosswindz
 4. Someplace Else (Kolkata)
 5. Chronic Xorn
 • I dont know much about Bangla Theater but I know about a club where bands play live mucic and which is still not on wikipedia - Princeton Club.

The club's website has enough information. I'll manage from there. But, I can't understand is this club's main website. They take 20,000 Rupees as admission fee, 1 lakh 20 thousand rupees as annual membership, they belong to Merlin group but, there are lots of spelling mistakes everwhere!

Example: 1) [http://princeton.in/banquet_ideal.php should be "ideal for product launches 2) [http://princeton.in/faq.php Section 2.11, poor grammar "Sir you wife" and more like this --Tito Dutta (Talk) 11:03, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Well, I use The Telegraph and The Times of India as a source and for references. I have added six references from The Telegraph. Guitarist(talk|contributions)11:09, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

I am not sure about the Bengali spelling; I studied Bengali only till class I (WB Board) after that I went to CBSE. You may check it out and make the necessary correction if there is a mistake. Guitarist(talk|contributions)11:39, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Her previous account was Soumita Ray, now it is Shoumita Ray. Ha Ha! If you are an admin, you can block the user, can't you? --Tito Dutta (Talk) 12:10, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
And she is too fast too. Add db-spam in the article. Within half an hour she'll remove that. She also spammed in few more articles like- List of Bengali actresses -Tito Dutta (Talk) 12:12, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
But the user:Soumita Ray is not registered check it out. Guitarist(talk|contributions)12:16, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Yes, right! I have supported the request in Kutabribri's page. But, I think, she'll come back even after being banned. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 12:23, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
After the page is deleted, we will request to protect the page, so no one will be able to write the article unless it is requested for unprotection. Guitarist(talk|contributions)12:27, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
I think we now need to add db-hoax instead of db-spam. Guitarist(talk|contributions)12:30, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Ya, please add!And also check these pages: Shoumita Ray, Soumita Roy--Tito Dutta (Talk) 12:34, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
These are already deleted and protected, no one can write articles named Shoumita Ray, Soumita Roy. Guitarist(talk|contributions)12:30, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Ya, that's I am saying. What's the use of protecting another article? -Tito Dutta (Talk) 12:42, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
Protecting which article? Anyway, the article is again deleted. Guitarist(talk|contributions)12:44, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

About: Userbox

Hi Tito!
All the userboxes that I have seen till date contain internal linking, I am not sure if we are allowed to add external links, but I dont see any harm, as many wikipedia articles contain external links on it.

Hi Tito!
I have started writing the article বাংলা ক্রিকেট দল, you can help by expanding it and also by correcting spelling errors.
Regards,
Guitarist(talk|contributions)10:15, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Lots of spelling mistakes! Correcting! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:23, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! I am very poor in writing/reading bengali, I can only speak. Guitarist(talk|contributions)10:28, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
I have corrected 5-6 names. But, unfortunately I can't understand few names like অক্ষ্মি সুকলা, বৃদ্ধিমান সহ. These seem to be adjectives and not names. If you can give me the list in English, I can write them all in Bengali. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:32, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
You can check the list in 2011 Squad in Bengal cricket team. Guitarist(talk|contributions)10:36, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

What do you mean by ক্ষুদ্র দল? ক্ষুদ্র দল means "Small team" or tiny team. Note, ক্ষুদ্র দল does not mean Junior team or Reserve bench team. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:41, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
Change that to "Current Squad" in Bengali (most probably - বর্তমান ফায়ারিং). Guitarist(talk|contributions)10:47, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
Thats looking great now, thanks a lot. Guitarist(talk|contributions)10:53, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
What is সান্মানিক? Statistics does not mean সান্মানিক. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 11:01, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

I think অনারর্স will sound good. Guitarist(talk|contributions)11:08, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
The article is looking good! Thanks again! Guitarist(talk|contributions)11:11, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
The word সান্মানিক in Bengali generally relates to person (eg. The author got Rs.XXXXX for his new novel as সান্মানিক from the publishing house. changing that! অনারর্স is not a word of common Bengali! And why did you hide infobox logo... I can't write association in Bengali (tried already), but, I can translate "association" as সংস্থা . -Tito Dutta (Talk) 11:14, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
The logo is not uploaded on Bengali Wikipedia. Guitarist(talk|contributions)11:21, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Actually, the Bengali spelling of Association should be like this. I don't know to write it in Wikipedia compatible Bengali. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 11:37, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
I am trying to write it. Guitarist(talk|contributions)11:39, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Bengali English Translator

We know Google does not offer Bengali to English translator or vice versa (though they have one which is not public, they use it for different Google products like Orkut, Gmail (you can use these products in Bengali,, and the translation is automatic). There are some other tools for English to Bengali translator or vice versa. I am trying to make a list. Help me if you know any.

Feature: Can translate. But, translation is low standard. One must revise after revision. But, will be helpful if translating in bulk. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 11:55, 2 August 2011 (UTC)

Help Me To Archive Page

This talk page is too long now. I am trying to archive some conversation but, can't. Help me to archive first 25 sections. --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:41, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

I've added some magic to the top of this page so that old sections will be moved to an archive after 31 days. Feel free to change the settings, of course - they are described at User:MiszaBot/config. The first archiving should happen within 24 hours. -- John of Reading (talk) 11:10, 3 August 2011 (UTC)

About: Nicknames of Kolkata

Hi Tito!
There were nicknames: City of Joy, City of Palaces, City of Stadiums, City of All Cities, and City of Bridges (Link). But Dwaipayanc has removed it. I dont know why, I have also asked him but didnt get any reply yet. Check out his revision. (Link). I provided citations but even then he removed it. (Link)
Regards,
Guitarist(talk|contributions)08:57, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

I suggest to discuss this in the article's talk page! (please give me the link after posting) You can create different section "City's name history" describing origin of city's name (there are some opinions like the name Kolkata has come from Goddess Kali OR Kali & Keta etc etc and add a sub section Kolkata's nick names --Tito Dutta (Talk) 10:08, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Peer-review and nominating articles for GA status or above

Hi Tito!
I am of the opinion that me, you, langyman and others carry peer-review on the important articles related to prominent Bengali figures or topics. This will help us make a lot of improvements in them and make them worthy of GA-rating and finally FA rating one day. Rabindra Nath Tagore already has Featured Article status and I believe Swami Vivekanada can have it too by progress. Please make Swami Vivekanada a GA-nominee and in quality-scale, request peer-review. Since you have been actively involved in it, I (along with others who haven't been contributors) may do an independent peer-review on it. Some more articles for consideration- Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, Vande Mataram, Netaji, Aurobindo Ghose etc. Instead of nominating these articles ourselves, we may request the active editors of these pages to do so, so that we can carry the review. After carrying out the detailed review, we will request an assessment. The final decision of giving the GA-status to the article based on peer-review rests with the WikiProject India Assessment Team.
SASSOTO (talk) 12:50, 14 August 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for delay in reply. My computer was not working. Finally I have managed to bring the computer in a workable state [image below]. And yes, I'll work on those!

Thanks --Tito Dutta (Talk) 14:53, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

Infoboxes

Please refrain from adding fields to documentation, before adding them to the actual code as done in Template:Infobox_Hindu_leader/doc [2], birth_time was not added to code at Template:Infobox Hindu leader. --Redtigerxyz Talk 17:28, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Okay! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 17:35, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

Time to nominate Swamiji for GA status

Hi! I think we have been quite thorough in improving the Swami Vivekananda article. I have shortened the introduction and added more info to the infobox. Unless you have more immediate concerns regarding improvement in some areas, please make the article a GA-nominee soon. Unfortunately I will be on a two-months wiki-break after a week and wont be able to participate in the discussion. But I know that you will handle the reviewers owing to your deep knowledge in this subject. All the best!! SASSOTO (talk) 14:33, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

I have few very rare photos of Swami Vivekananda. I am planning to add one or two of them in this article. If needed I'll post all those photos in Talk first and request to discuss which one or two selected and posted in the article. What do you think?
Also, there are some mistakes (!)
 • I have just corrected Vivekananda's father's name spelling (it was mentioned in talk page)
 • But, also note, the spelling of Dutta of Narendranath Dutta, Viswanath Dutta etc is Datta and not Dutta [1] --Tito Dutta (Talk) 21:23, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
I think it does not matter much. "The Prophet of Modern India" by Gautam Ghosh published by Rupa Press in 2003 writes "Dutta", as in "Tito Dutta". Also, the many other biographies I hv read here and there, I have seen Dutta used more often. The confusion is same as writing 'Baranagar' as 'Baranagore' so this is not a major issue with the article. Apart from this, let me know of any other issues. SASSOTO (talk) 02:40, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Just a message...

Hey there Tito, I just want to tell you one thing. I see you had problems with listing your oppose. This is just to assure that any doubt you have on Wiki, I would be happy to help you out with it. Not to worry. Cheers. Avenue X at Cicero (talk) 18:59, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Yes, sure! And just as an info- I have been participating in different forums for last few years now (eg. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/gmail/user?userid=14112335818074241878&hl=en etc). This is the first time someone reported against me. Anyway, I did not mention one point there to keep the discussion friendly. You are misspelling Swami Vivekananda's name [you are writing Vivekanand]. I was wondering, if someone mistakes the spelling of a person's name, how can he make a move request which is completely related on the same subject.
I have read your "Hotel California's" Wikipedia edition. That's a very good one! --Tito Dutta (Talk) 19:12, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
