Style and content

[edit]

Please read the Wikipedia Manual of Style before creating or altering any more articles. In particular, Wikipedia is not intended to allow editors to direct people to their personal blogs or fansites, as you seem to be doing in several articles.

Your articles on stories in Tales from the White Hart have been listed for deletion because they are just directing readers to your fansite. If you do not wish them to be deleted, please improve them to conform with Wikipedia guidelines. Pay particular attention to your tone and style of writing. Hi, I personally think there's a lot more to fix than just the first and last paragraphs. I haven't read the novel (I only have the short story) but if you're willing to polish up the summary, I'll be glad to help. :) --Kjoonlee 07:07, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Please don't delete other people's messages, even if you don't agree with them. You can comment about it instead. --Kjoonlee 07:07, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to Hugo Award for Best Novelette

[edit]

There isn't room in the award articles for summaries of all the nominees. Your intentions were good, but it's just not practical. --Orange Mike 23:25, 29 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arthur C. Clarke

Hi Tinkoo, It is beyond me to delete articles. However, Wikipedia recommends to not link to personal blogs. If you want the articles deleted, please tag them for deletion using "prod" or in AFD. Regarding credit, I think that it is clear who wrote the article, and you can link to your blog from your user page.--Legionarius (talk) 04:08, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tinkoo: they are not "spam" in the purely commercial sense, but they should not be linked. See policy under external links. Please do not take the term "linkspam" as derogatory; it is just how non-conforming links are usually described.--Legionarius (talk) 14:01, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is indeed the case. Your intentions and motivations are clearly sincere, but for a number of reasons we don't link to anybody's book reviews and rarely fan sites, much less book reviews in fansites maintained by the editor who adds the links. Please review guidelines at WP:LINKSPAM and WP:EL (where there is a discussion on this subject). Sorry, but these links have to be removed. Wikidemo (talk) 16:50, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
