Your recent edits
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:14, 3 May 2015 (UTC)
Timmeredgar, you are invited to the Teahouse!
[edit]Hi Timmeredgar! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. Be our guest at the Teahouse! The Teahouse is a friendly space where new editors can ask questions about contributing to Wikipedia and get help from peers and experienced editors. I hope to see you there! Manual of Style
[edit]Welcome!
It's great to see you appreciating the subtle style cues on Wikipedia so soon after joining. Judging by the discussion of dashes on your user page, out of interest, you may be interested in:
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style § Punctuation §§ Dashes §§§ En dashes: other uses (shortcut: MOS:ENDASH)
- Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers § Chronological items §§ Dates, months and years §§§ Ranges (shortcut: WP:DATERANGE).
Good to see you making a valuable contribution on the talk pages, too. You'll find that seemingly trivial minutiae can attract polarised opinions, but don't let that deter you!
Happy editing! —sroc 💬 16:29, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
- It seems that my association with another editor disqualifies me for wikipedia editing, and all my work will be rolled back, even if it means putting articles back to being inconsistent within themselves, inconsistent with sources, and inconsistent with the manual of style. Thanks anyway for your encouragement. Timmeredgar (talk) 00:24, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- A word of advice. If you don't want to get caught socking, don't touch public areas. I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't posted at the VP. I never got any hint of that earlier account, which was seemingly formed long before you were even blocked. Someone with as much acclaimed intellect as yourself should be able to understand that. - What earlier account? I have only been editing for a few days. Something seems very broken about your interpretation of what is happening here; or mine. Timmeredgar (talk) 01:18, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- I've heard the "broken" line before. What's your angle? There is no reason to be coy. RGloucester — ☎ 01:34, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
