Semi-automatedly blanked to remove spam on many of these talk pages
After discussing this with a few people, I thought I should explain what I’ve done. Firstly I apologize for what I’ve done, I thought by registering users from more than one IP would have been legal and not classed as a sockpuppet. Obviously I was wrong.
I understand that registering one account to one IP is the normal process. I registered quite a few accounts and I used a non-static IP in the UK, meaning it was easy for me to change IP within a common range used by one of the largest internet providers. I knew that it would be easy to change as I asked friends on the same provider to use the same method and they got similar IP’s often a long distance from me. The 10 or so accounts I created were literally single purpose accounts by dictionary definition on Wikipedia, I’m concerned that any other similar style accounts using this IP range could be affected.
I genuinely didn’t think this would cause any harm. The reason for commenting is I went down these users and feel bad that I could have caused this. I would give you the list, but I cannot remember which ones I registered, as I can’t see the pages or subjects, just usernames. I literally used them for a couple of days then stopped so not easy to remember which I used.
As User:The_Bushranger nominated me, I hope this helps your investigation. TimeQueen32 (talk) 23:20, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts
[edit]Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/TimeQueen32, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
