Copyright/plagiarism
[edit]Hi, I received a notification that you had plagiarized content that was previously published elsewhere. This poses a copyright and plagiarism issue, even if you were to include the original source as a citation. The main issue here is that while you broke the source's content up into bullet points, the material was still very close paraphrased or directly taken from the source to the point where it set off the plagiarism detectors. I've removed this and you will need to re-write the material to have it be in your own words. You should also write it in more of a prose format than in note format. You can still do bullet points for each portion of the government (National Assembly, President, Cabinet, Legislation), but the material for each bullet point should be written in prose, especially as this can make it easier to re-write the content in your own words.
I would like for you to review the plagiarism module before progressing further. Make sure that you're careful with your content, as it can be easy to plagiarize unintentionally. I'm also going to tag your professor, Angang22. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:10, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
- Something else to take into consideration is that almost all content that has been previously published will have been licensed under a non-compatible license that would prohibit its use on Wikipedia. Also, the United States Federal Government is actually fairly unique in that its content falls into the public domain, as most governments don't do this - even most of the individual state governments in the US don't publish their work under a public domain license. As such, it would be best to assume that the content is not able to be posted verbatim or closely paraphrased unless it's very specifically marked as falling into the public domain or a compatible Creative Commons license.
