Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello TiffanyTran! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Hasna Xhukiçi - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Request reason:

Dear Admins: May you please unblock me. I am not a sock puppet; I do not have mutiple accounts, falsely lied to be anyone, or create wikipedias about myself. I had in the past created wikipedias for Alonso Mister Costa Rica World 2007, Miss vietnam World 2009, Hiroko Mima, Hansa Miss Albania, Miss Nebraska 2009 Belinda Wright and edit several pageant related material. I feel I had done my best to contribute to wikipedia. But I apologize for any unreliable uncited information I added on Mister World 2010, Hasna Xhukiçi when I created her wikipedia and on Miss Japan's National director Ines in the past that might have to do with my block.

I am only an 18 year old girl who has just Graduated from highschool and was my school humble Prom Queen 2010 from Hastings. I am a very big pageant fan as my auntie was a runner up in Miss California pageant; I one day would like to be a beauty queen and compete like my auntie! -Sincerely Tiffany Tran ♥

Decline reason:

You are adding the same edits as a blocked user, and started doing so when his last sockpuppet was blocked. No. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 20:26, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My request for an unblock was rejected 6/26/10 so I ask that my IP address be run to prove that I am not a sock puppet! I mean if I was a sockpuppet with mutiple accounts wouldn't I keep editing/adding the same false material taken off by other admins and why would I provide an email? I have never been block or banned from any website in my life because I strive to follow the rules.

Might not be a sock

[edit]

Hi. Could someone take another look at the TiffanyTran unblock request? I am the editor that started the SPI that got her blocked, and I didn't include her. I did at one point think she was a sock. The sockmaster and the obvious socks were making an edit that asserted a man named Al Maiman took 2nd runner up in the Mister World 2010 contest. Here's an example of the edit the socks made over and over -- [1] It was false. After the sockmaster was blocked, TT came onto the article and added different information about Al Maiman's place in a different contest [2]. At that point I thought she might be a sock. I found sources for what I could of her edits, and warned her about including unsourced information about Al Maiman. [3][4]. She edited Mister World 2010 several more times after that, but never added back the information about Al Maiman. [5]. She made this edit at Manhunt International 2010 [6] and unfortunately didn't provide a citation. She has made numerous edits since then, and none of them have left information about Al Maiman in an article. This is a very different editing pattern than what the sockmaster and the obvious socks exhibited. The fact that she didn't re-enter the information that I deleted from Mister World 2010 is behavior very different from that of the sockmaster and supports her statement that she isn't a sock. It's true that she didn't start editing the article until after the sockmaster had been blocked, but she does have a prior history of editing similar articles about pageants. I think this is a case when AGF is in order. Susfele (talk) 21:10, 26 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Advice

[edit]

Hello Tiffany. It was unfortunate that you got caught up in the fall-out from another user getting blocked. In future I would suggest that you only add information found in reliable sources to Wikipedia, rather than information found on forums or other informal websites - Wikipedia articles should be verifiable. Always cite your sources. To help you in your editing, you might wish to have a more experienced editor mentor you, you can find someone to do this at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. Thank You

No problem. Could you please go into "My preferences", go to the tab "Editing" and untick "Mark all edits minor by default"? You're marking edits as minor that aren't. See Help:Minor edit. Fences&Windows 13:44, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:17, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please take care of the minor edit issue, as all of your contribution is still minor. Please ONLY use "this is a minor edit" check-box when making a minor change, like a comma or space or dot..etc. Good luck and happy editing :) AdvertAdam talk 08:29, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. In Mister International 2011, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Man of Steel (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
