Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Tierra.watkins. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Moss Ball Pets, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.   — Jeff G. ツ 03:54, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

COI disclosed; please help/send to Articles for Deletion before Speedy Deletion?!?!

[edit]

I have spent a lot of time working on this page. I had to learn how to use Wikipedia as an editor and then research all the credible sources about Moss Ball Pets and the biology of the organism that is discussed. I provided no marketing terms, worked hard to link and cite all sources, references, and new terminology. I also received some assistance from two other editors on Wikipedia before being tagged for speedy deletion. Although I have been paid to create this page, I have the utmost respect for the project and would not try to jeopardize or vandalize Wikipedia by creating promotional, unimportant, or false information. Not only do I want a chance to correct whatever errors they may be so that this page can stay up, I am also trying to avoid being kicked off of Wikipedia as an editor. I will be able to send an email to the source listed for the WikiCommons images I uploaded and used. Tierra.watkins (talk) 04:47, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Moss Ball Pets, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.   — Jeff G. ツ 03:56, 10 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Moss Ball Pets has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable organization, advertising.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.   — Jeff G. ツ 06:40, 11 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

COI editing

[edit]

Hey there. Please see Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. You should not directly edit the article, instead please use the article's talk page to suggest changes using the {{request edit}} template. Thank you. – Þjarkur (talk) 21:51, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Moss Ball Pets for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Moss Ball Pets is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Moss Ball Pets until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. – Þjarkur (talk) 19:59, 21 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I welcome the opportunity to discuss this in a forum and hopefully once a consensus is reached there will be another article that piques the interest of all editors involved. I will leave the tag up for seven days as required and regardless of my status of paid or non-paid, I am still an editor. I care about and abide by the guidelines of Wikipedia and all edits and posts on talk pages should be first considered in good faith. If I have committed any actions that can be proven to be contrary to upholding Wikipedian standards then please advise me of my errors so that appropriate changes can be made. I do not believe that it is constructive to immediately strike or remove information or an article simply because it does not suit one editor. Again, the discussion is invited and I look forward to participating. Tierra.watkins (talk) 02:38, 22 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Tierra.watkins, it seems like you want to be a productive member of Wikipedia. If so, welcome. I hope you will find this a rewarding place. One rather important procedural note - if you're being paid to create an article you should be going through the Articles for Creation process not just creating them in mainspace. If you have questions about this or other elements of being a paid editor on Wikipedia please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 03:44, 23 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:Tierra.watkins/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Moss Ball Pets. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
