[edit]Hi Threepeater11! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Streetwalker (Michael Jackson song) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Streetwalker (Michael Jackson song), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 19:28, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- I have no idea if your a bot, but I am a Big Michael Jackson fan who is careful with sources, Streetwalker is a fan favorite song so it deserves a page of its own, I wanna work this out so it comes through in the end Threepeater11 (talk) 19:32, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- The song must meet the notability requirements of WP:NSONG (click to see the requirements). You have to find mainstream publications talking about it in depth, not just listing it or mentioning it in passing. Without some strong support from WP:Reliable sources, the page Streetwalker (Michael Jackson song) can only be a redirect to MJ's discography or a particular album project such as Bad. Binksternet (talk) 19:39, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- Seems fair, so I have to state the sources I used in the text as quotes? Or find a in-depth article talking about the song and list it in a reference? Threepeater11 (talk) 19:42, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- Generally you would cite the sources as footnotes so that the reader can see them listed as references. Sometimes people state the source explicitly in the text, for instance writing that Joe Schmoe wrote [whatever] in Rolling Stone November 2022 about the song. Binksternet (talk) 20:19, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- Ah, There are not too many sources since the song was on a 2012 re-issue anniversary album, but I used a video from a mostly trustworthy youtube channel for main resources and some song demos that were leaked that supports evidence from mjjcommunity.com that 2 other versions were made from different producers. Threepeater11 (talk) 20:39, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
- The user forum at mjjcommunity.com cannot be used because it fails WP:USERG. Only featured articles can be used. Binksternet (talk) 23:50, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

- (edit conflict) You made a bold edit in undoing the redirect, but your edit has been disputed by multiple editors. As Wikipedia is determined by consensus, and the consensus at this time is that the song does not meet the notability criteria for a standalone article, you must stop edit warring to restore your preferred version. Addition information regarding edit warring can be found below.-- Ponyobons mots 19:41, 3 November 2022 (UTC)
Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.-- Ponyobons mots 19:41, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Danners430. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, LNER Class A4, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Danners430 (talk) 19:19, 18 October 2023 (UTC)
- You did make a mistake, it literally says on the chart that 4464 is planned to be overhauled after being moved, thus making it awaiting overhaul Threepeater11 (talk) 20:25, 18 October 2023 (UTC)

- By all means - if you have a reliable reference, it’s always welcome! I’m not here to dissuade people from editing, only to make sure that such edits are suitably sourced etc :-) Danners430 (talk) 20:35, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
- Oh no it's all good, it's always good to put references especially since anyone can edit most wikipedia pages Threepeater11 (talk) 18:51, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Aric Almirola, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. glman (talk) 22:14, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
Please do not add or change content without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. glman (talk) 01:42, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at SR West Country and Battle of Britain classes, you may be blocked from editing. Citations for material on this article need to be on this article, not elsewhere SovalValtos (talk) 04:03, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

- But there is a source that I added a while back on there? If you want I can add a better source because im following the restoration of 71000 on FB Threepeater11 (talk) 17:54, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- The content you added was unsourced. If it’s covered by another source in the article, then reuse the source for the content you’re adding, using the name parameter in the ref tags. Danners430 (talk) 18:07, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Ok ok if I do that may I revert the changes? Threepeater11 (talk) 19:47, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Of course - nobody owns any article, please don't feel as though I have to give permission or anything :) Danners430 (talk) 20:22, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

Sources belong in the article
[edit]… not your edit summaries, as you did here. It’s not up to readers to go digging in the page history for sources; they should all be listed as references on the page. Danners430 (talk) 07:15, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Danners, are you talking about how I put my sources in the edit summary and not the reference section? If so, sorry about that! I'll be aware to do that next time. Threepeater11 (talk) 18:52, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
- Aye that's it - when people read the article, they're not reading the edit summary… give it 6 months, and that summary could well be on page 4 of the history! Danners430 (talk) 19:40, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]yo if you could help me find some sources that back up the statement that Freeman is one of the greatest players/first baseman of his generation would be great. I was previously trying to find good enough articles about this (since I agree Freeman is one of this century's greats), but I came up short. HappyBoi3892 (talk) 04:41, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
