[edit]Hello Thibaut120094. Your account has been granted the "rollbacker" and "pending changes reviewer" user rights. These user rights allow you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes and quickly revert the edits of other users.
- Please keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin).
- The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection enabled is located at Special:StablePages. You may find the following pages useful to review:
- Wikipedia:Reviewing, the guideline on reviewing.
- Wikipedia:Pending changes, the summary of the use of pending changes.
- Wikipedia:Protection policy#Pending changes protection, the policy determining which pages can be given pending changes protection by administrators.
Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of reviewer or rollback. If you no longer want either of these user rights, contact me and I'll remove it, alternatively you can leave a request on the administrators' noticeboard. Happy editing! [edit]Hello, I just picked up the message you left me in regards to reversing an edit I did "which did not appear constructive"... you're right about that, and I'll tell you what that is: that's my mobile phone deciding it has a mind of its own. When I turn the display off, I have 5 seconds in which I can turn it back on before the lock-screen engages, a time saving feature which allows one to not have to deal with bypassing the lock screen if he forgets something and turns the display back on within 5 seconds of having turned it off. What had to have happened there is I inadvertently hit the power button while stowing the phone, and did so within that 5 second allowance. This turned the display back on, and (of course) the last thing I was doing before turning it off was using the Wikipedia app. My phone decided to take advantage of this to "vandalize" my personal space and start negative rumors about me.
Seriously, the babble you deleted was the actual result of the above, so thanks for correcting it (and noticing it in the first place); obviously I was unaware.
Note: This is actually the first time I leave anything in someone's personal talk space, so I hope what I wrote is okay. I did catch the thing about the 4 tildes in the signature (at least). :)

[edit]Bonjour. J'ai vu que tu as lancé une suppression rapide sur cet article. J'ai tout lieu de penser que l'article Faye Adell est également un faux qui traine depuis très longtemps. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. Salut Thibaut,

[edit]Hiya! You removed the proposed deletion for it citing an entry in Daijisen, however that is in Daijisen Plus, which isn't really a dictionary, more a collection of names: https://japanknowledge.com/contents/daijisenplus/index.html "人名、企業名、商品名やサービス名、小説・映画・漫画などの作品名……" so I went ahead and undid the removal. (although I would say being in a dictionary doesn't necessarily mean notability) 8ya (talk • contribs) 18:12, 26 July 2021 (UTC)

Nonsense sockpuppet accusations
[edit]Thibaut accused me of sockpuppeting on Talk:Comiket. I did no such thing, and, given how this is an extremely serious accusation, consider this to be a personal attack. Regarding your reversion of my edit to "Hepburn romanization"
[edit]Greetings and felicitations. I noticed that you reverted my edit to "Hepburn romanization" with the comment "You misread MOS:LAYOUT: 'Headers: For a list of explanatory footnotes or shortened citation footnotes: "Notes", "Endnotes", or "Footnotes"'".
Actually, my full comment was "Cleaned up MOS:LAYOUT and other matters, including references." The "MOS:LAYOUT" referred to my moving of the Short description template, while "references" referred to the "Notes" section. Also, you missed a sentence of MOS:REFERENCES above the portion you quoted, which states "If multiple sections are wanted, then some possibilities include:" (emphasis added), which implies that the list is not exhaustive. I changed the section title because "Notes" is also used for citations (see a little further up yet in MOS:REFERENCES), and this could be confusing to the non-Wikipedian general public. See my discussion on a related topic with user AleatoryPonderings on my talk page at "General sources". I realize, as I admit to AleatoryPonderings, that I am violating MOS:VAR, but I feel that clarity of the purpose of the various appendices and Wikipedia:Be bold are more important. —DocWatson42 (talk) 08:15, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

[edit]I've removed your comment concerning Emigré55 as inappropriate and irrelevant, please see my edit summary. Bishonen | tålk 11:45, 20 February 2022 (UTC).
- Hello Bishonen,
- Thank you for letting me know.
- Not entirely unrelated or irrelevant as Emigré55 was blocked on frwiki for far-right pov-pushing ([5][6]) like Cheep and the others (and will probably be soon on enwiki if he continues to ignore the warnings on his talk page).
- I don't consider this small note as a "inappropriate ad hominem attack" more like something like {{spa}} or {{canvassed}}.
- Fortunately this is not a majority vote, so I trust the admin who will close the request.
- Regards. Thibaut (talk) 12:05, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
- I'm not on Emigré's team, Thibaut. I've warned him several times and am the only admin who has ever blocked him on enwiki. I've also let him know, a little more discreetly, that I'm aware of his French block.[7] But I still think your ANI note was overkill, and a pretty far cry from {{spa}} or {{canvassed}}. NHK dictionary versions
[edit]Hello Thibaut, very interested if you can help me figure out what the electronic version 1.02 of the NHK 日本語発音アクセント辞典 corresponds to in terms of their print editions? I bought this for my iPhone a few years ago, and prompted by your recent edit comment, I went looking more deeply for copyright and cannot find anything in the app.
FWIW, the JA WP article at ja:K lists both ケー and ケイ as the Japanese pronunciations for the name of the letter 'K', which matches my subjective experience from living in Japan a few years in the 90s and early 00s. Clearly there's been a change in either pronunciation patterns or the NHK dictionary's notation style.

suppression of referenced information marked as minor and not reason given in edit summary
[edit]Can you double-check this and fix it? Suppression of referenced informations shouldn't be marked as minor with a blank edit summary. I suppose it somehow slipped. Please fix it. Enhancing999 (talk) 19:29, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
- Hello Enhancing999, the Handelsregister is in contradiction with many official federal sources.
- For example, it’s the acronym "VFF" that is used in text laws in Romansh [8].
- Feel free to add both if you prefer, same goes for SBB and SFR.
- Regards. Thibaut (talk) 19:35, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
- Commercial register is the standard for names of Swiss companies and other businesses. Termdat is what translators of the administration should use, but it can't override official names. Also, the railways are no longer part of the administration. Enhancing999 (talk) 19:41, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
- For private companies yes, for state-owned companies, I’m not so sure.
- A cantonal commercial register can’t supersede federal documents and laws. The Romansh version of the SBBG for example is called "LVFF" and the English version "SBBA" (per [9], page 61).
- Since both are official, we can add both abbreviations for Romansh and English with a note.

- English and Romansh translations aren't official in the same way as the others as the other three. Enhancing999 (talk) 20:14, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
- True, but you'll have to admit that "SFR" is nowhere to be found on the English version of sbb.ch, nor in Swiss English-language media like Swissinfo and that it is "VFF" that is largely used by Romansh speakers (see websites like gr.ch or rtr.ch).
- The commercial register is the only place where we find those abbreviations (SFR and VFS), I wonder if it is some kind of mistake, either from SBB or from the canton. Thibaut (talk) 21:18, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
- I like the outcome. Thanks for fixing it. Maybe the English and Romansh abbreviations needn't be in the infobox and could go entirely to the footnotes. They don't seem to be part of the name as the others. Enhancing999 (talk) 13:00, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
- Glad we could find a compromise.
- I agree that the English name shouldn’t be in the infobox as "native name" but Romansh is still a national language, therefore the Romansh name should be considered as a native name. Thibaut (talk) 11:45, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
- English should indeed not be at "native name" as Template:Infobox_company #Parameters defines it for "non-English name". Enhancing999 (talk) 09:16, 8 April 2023 (UTC)

- Commercial register is the standard for names of Swiss companies and other businesses. Termdat is what translators of the administration should use, but it can't override official names. Also, the railways are no longer part of the administration. Enhancing999 (talk) 19:41, 2 April 2023 (UTC)

信長の黒人「さむらい」弥助
[edit]Hello Thibault. Apologies for the interruption. On page 32 of the つなぐ世界史 book, there is an image of a Nanban gunpowder flask; caption beginning with "図2 火薬入れ". Are you able to advise if this is a colour image in the printed book, or greyscale? If colour, could I trouble you for a copy? Rotary Engine talk 01:19, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Rotary Engine!
- Unfortunately all images in the book are in greyscale :( Thibaut (talk) 16:41, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- An image in colour can be found in this article from the Smithsonian (although a bit compressed). Thibaut (talk) 17:00, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Merci! Greatly appreciated. Rotary Engine talk 20:44, 18 July 2024 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment about the secondary sourcing for the Maeda clan version of the Shincho Koki. Entirely agree; and I really should have put my preceding comment in a new section from the start, so as to not entangle two separate discussions. Please uncollapse our comments if you would prefer it so.
On a related note, I'm trying to find a copy of "Kamiya Sotan's Left Behind Diary" (神屋宗湛の残した日記} by Ibuse Masuji (井伏鱒二). Apparently Ibuse writes that in the diary Sotan mentions being led by Yasuke from Honnoji to Nanbanji on the night of the Incident. Rotary Engine talk 07:28, 24 July 2024 (UTC)
