Speedy deletion nomination of Sheffield Predators
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Sheffield Predators requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Dennis The Tiger (Rawr and stuff) 22:30, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
The team is a verified BAFA team, as is Manchester Titans wiki.riteme.site/manchester_titans and Staffordshire Surge http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Staffordshire_Surge_(American_football) and therefore should have an entry as do the teams I have specified.

[edit]Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. This applies whether or not you are logged in to the account you used to create the page. JamesBWatson (talk) 12:31, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Sock puppet
[edit]Please be aware that using multiple accounts is a violation of Wikipedia policy and may subject an editor to being blocked or banned. Based on the edit history of the Sheffield Predators and the contributions of the involved users, it appears that a sock-puppet is being used. If you are using a sock-puppet to remove tags, please stop immediately. This is the only warning you will receive on this issue. GregJackP Boomer! 12:41, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
I am a separate person (www.johnspeak.co.uk) and play Tight End for this team. I am was contesting the deletion, which you ignored and put it down to "sock puppetting" get your facts right. I thought the purpose of wiki editors was to remove factually incorrect information, not delete factually correct information at will and that a debate was supposed to ensue before an automatic deletion Speakyuk (talk) 14:05, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
Response to query about Sheffield Predators
[edit]I have posted a reply to a recent query from an anonymous editor who may well be you at User talk:JamesBWatson#Sheffield Predators. While I am about it I thought I would explain to you that {{Talkback|Theunknown85}} means "I have left a message which you can read on Theunknown85's talk page". If you leave a message here for another editor then it is helpful to post {{Talkback|Theunknown85}} on that editor's talk page, so that they know to look here. You should not put it with a message which you post on another editor's talk page, or they will be likely to waste their time looking for a non-existent message here. On the other hand, when you post on any talk page you should finish your message with 4 tildes (in other words ~~~~). This will automatically be replaced by a signature, saying who left the message, and giving a link back to your talk page. Finally, if you post to my talk page on a subject for which there is already a section, please add new comments to the end of that section, to keep discussion of one topic all together, rather than starting a new section.
