User talk:Thetruthonly

[edit]

Hi welcome to my talk page! Feel free to ask me anything. I am busy with university (until the end of May) so I might reply a little late. Thetruthonly (talk) 13:56, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey!

Sounds very interesting. Thanks for notifying me about it. Turco85 (Talk) 15:33, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Ottoman Empire

[edit]

Hello, Thetruthonly, and thank you for joining the newly formed WikiProject Ottoman Empire! You, being one of those to support its proposal, have become a charter member! Thanks, mynameinc 22:23, 14 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits

[edit]

Hi, I know you're editing in good faith, but your edits are messing up formatting. Your edits are causing the template for "Turks people by country" to appear as a column to the right of the page. That needs to go at the bottom of the page. Could you please fix it? Who then was a gentleman? (talk) 23:35, 20 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Turkish population

[edit]

Thanks for fixing this article. I have been meaning to fix it for ages but kept putting it off! I have just sorted out the second table by putting the country/region section into althabetical order hope this helps.Turco85 (Talk) 17:21, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Meskhetian Turks

[edit]

Not all Meskhetian Turks are Sunni Muslim. There are Shiite Muslims (particularly in Azerbaijan) and those with other beliefs or no belief as well. Referring to the Meskhetian Turks as only Sunni Muslims is not correct and also misleading. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.254.97.169 (talk) 17:40, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please show me some references which state your claims please? Thetruthonly (talk) 11:20, 31 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Thetruthonly! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 7 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Eylem - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 23:35, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, ttt! I mean its not a third part source. The number is given by an institution of the Turkish minority itself, which means it's de facto questionable. If this number isn't confirmed by a third part source (journal etc), we should state that this is a claim of this exact institution.Alexikoua (talk) 16:26, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I've did it.Alexikoua (talk) 16:35, 20 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

List of massacres in Turkey

[edit]

Hello, I am writing this to you in order to inform you that some Turkish-related articles have for quite some time been hijacked by a group of editors whose only goal, it seems, is to negatively portray the Republic of Turkey, its predesseccors and its people as warmongerming murderers. This has especially become a problem in the article of List of massacres in Turkey where they only allow information about Turks killing others, and delete all reliabely sourced information about massacres against Turks/Muslims. By doing WP:OR, discrediting sources and authors, source falsification, distortion and tag bombing.

Sources which state the number of Muslims casualties during the Greco-Turkish war is persistently being deleted.

Your help is needed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.178.77.28 (talk) 20:25, 26 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. I was wondering if you'd be interested in setting up Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Turkey), based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). Now it's not a contest in itself, it's designed to motivate people to inspire others to improve content and build something which demonstrates the hard work going into the country which is visible. The focus is more on quality improvements but new articles are welcome too. Eventually a Turkish National Contest could be created to fuel it, like Wikipedia:Awaken the Dragon, in which contestants can choose to keep the Amazon vouchers themselves to buy their own books for more articles or put them into book fund to help editors further improve Turkish-related topics by giving them the books they want. It will begin though as purely an improvement drive. If interested, or you think anybody else might be interested, alert them and sign up on the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Turkey talk page at the bottom. Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 14:12, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 04:46, 21 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Aclan Bates requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
