AAR Template

[edit]

At one point, you complained that the template is "too bulky", but now you are adding redundant information to the table? Please note that The Mike Malloy Show is a redirect to Mike Malloy. --Asbl 00:47, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not for long. Thetrick 00:54, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so much for making this into a table. I've been meaning to do this for quite some time. But I decided to bring List of largest suspension bridges to the level of Featured list before undertaking it. I'm glad you are using a similar format. Once there are images on the list, you probably don't need the heading, but that is a minor point. -- Samuel Wantman 05:47, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Used the format from the suspension bridge because I thought it was pretty good. I started updating the contents but closed my window of edits by accident (duh). I'll try again to update content sometime soon, but it will be piecemeal. --Thetrick 05:53, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fantasy world?

[edit]

Hello there! You removed Category:Fantasy worlds from the Gezeitenwelt article. I would like to explain why I think differently: The article is primarily about the novel series, not specifically about the fantasy world, true. But the world has the same name, is mentioned in the article as setting of the novels, and does, I guess, not warrant its own article for reasons of notability. Anyone looking through the categories searching for fantasy worlds should therefore find the Gezeitenwelt article in Category:Fantasy worlds. What is your opinion? Daranios (talk) 13:40, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for talking about this. My thought was that putting the article in the Category:Fantasy worlds category was not entirely appropriate as it wasn't mainly about a world. Most fantasy books/series are set in their own "world" and therefore most articles in the Category:Fantasy books by series could go in the Category:Fantasy worlds category. I think the Category:Fantasy worlds category should be for articles that are mainly about an entire "world" or universe and that include things like history, peoples, cultures, not just geography. I'm not saying that Gezeitenwelt article is better or worse than any other article in that category; it just happened to be the one I clicked on last. (Also, since it is really about a series, the year/novel categories aren't appropriate either.) --Thetrick (talk) 14:31, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see your point, but I do not completely agree. I have moved this discussion to the article's talk page in case anyone else wants to comment. I hope you don't mind.
By the way: Thanks for changing the novels category to series, I definitely agree with that. Daranios (talk) 16:56, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edit War

[edit]

I have left this message on the other users talk page and to be fair I also need to leave it on yours too -

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Allegations of Israeli Apartheid. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. ♦Tangerines♦·Talk 03:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I appreciate the even-handed intervention. --Thetrick (talk) 04:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userfication

[edit]

Yeah, sure, I'd be happy to help. Firstly, this may help, it lists all pages in a certain namespace matching a regex. That one is set to match anything in Template containing 'User'. I did that query when looking for userboxen to userfy, but it helps here too. If you need a hand with the JS, point me to the code and I'll see what I can do. Hope I can be of help! RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 15:01, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. You seem to be doing well with the uncategorised templates list, and as I'm rather busy userfying userboxen at the moment you'd probably be better organising this. Just tell me if there's anything that you want done (my bot can do transclusion updating easily). As for asking users, I would just move it and then inform them. There's no reason for it to be in Template space, whether they want to move it themselves or not! RichardΩ612 Ɣ ɸ 15:28, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've submitted a query here, and I'll let you know what happens. --Thetrick (talk) 15:44, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userfy

[edit]

I've userfied all my templates. =) Sorry for the problems caused. I'm off to fix my various pages now. --Aremith tlk | eml 20:18, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TfD

[edit]

Thanks for your participation at Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2008_June_27#Template:SI_Swimsuit_issues. Have you considered the implication of the deletion of the templates for articles such as Raphael Mazzucco or Stewart Shining as well as Marisa Miller, Heidi Klum or Yamila Diaz.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 13:11, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userfy

[edit]

Thanks for the notice, all the templates are no userfied. Is it ok if I just redirect the templates, or should they be deleted altogether? ~ Bella Swan? 13:25, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Thanks again and happy editing. ~ Bella Swan? 14:21, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Templates nominated for speedy deletion

[edit]

You have nominated several templates created by Sgeo (talk · contribs) for speedy deletion for misrepresenting the policy; I don't see how they meet the criterion, so I have moved them to his user space. Regards, Mike Rosoft (talk) 17:29, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They were both about adding signatures in inappropriate ways. Userfication is good enough. --Thetrick (talk) 18:19, 30 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with TinucherianBot in Project Banner Tagging for WP:FOOD

[edit]

Thank you for expressing your concerns on the recent issues with TinucherianBot in Project Banner Tagging for WP:FOOD . I have made some comments and explainations at Wikipedia_talk:Bots/Requests_for_approval#TinucherianBot and I am leaving this note just for your information -- TinuCherian (Wanna Talk?) - 09:56, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Doh

[edit]

I thought no one was doing anything with those templates! Thanks for doing those, I did manage to categorize a few and will try and more off your list. MBisanz talk 12:00, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AWB Req

[edit]

Sure, I use AWB a lot for template stuff, what is the change needed? If you can give me a sample diff of what AWB should do, I can probably get to it tonight or tomorrow. MBisanz talk 14:02, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Everything, except the last part with the sort name, should be easy to do in AWB. Default sort though would be almost impossible to easily do. MBisanz talk 17:49, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Seeing as you've been around awhile, I've given you access to WP:AWB so you can download it and play around with it, even if I can't code it to your needs, it makes a lot of everyday tasks easier. MBisanz talk 01:13, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
To expand, AWB will preload the edit window in the lower right corner, so you can insert it, click save, and then have it preload the next page. MBisanz talk 01:15, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2008_July_3#Template:Asiir_picture

[edit]

Template:Asiir picture "passed" the deletion vote and is set to be deleted. Please do the bot magic you promised. :) Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion/Log/2008_July_3#Template:Asiir_picture. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 06:48, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops. Sorry :) --WoohookittyWoohoo! 10:30, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Allegations of apartheid deletion notification

[edit]

Some time ago, you participated in a deletion discussion concerning Allegations of Israeli apartheid. I thought you might like to know that the parent article, Allegations of apartheid, was recently nominated for deletion. Given that many of the issues that have been raised are essentially the same as those on the article on which you commented earlier, you may have a view on whether Allegations of apartheid should be kept or deleted. If you wish to contribute to the discussion, please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allegations of apartheid (fifth nomination). -- ChrisO (talk) 18:05, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beer category decision

[edit]

A discussion has been opened on changes that have been made to the existing Beer category system. The changes reverse the decision made by the Project in April 2006. The changes were based on agreement by only two people, and by a discussion that took place outside the Beer Project. There may be some merit in the changes, and to prevent future conflict it is important that there is some discussion of the matter. If you're interested, please see Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Beer#Brewery_cats. SilkTork *YES! 18:04, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Templates

[edit]

Would you object to me using a bot to categorize most of the templates on your list with the uncategorized tag? Maintaining the list you have now is hard since it requires a toolserver run to get it, and the Special page only has the last 1000, if they were all in a category, it would make slicing and dicing easier. Any other ideas? MBisanz talk 03:20, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, I have no objections, though that would create a category with about 22,000 entries. If you can add the "type=somekindofbox" parameter to the template that would break it up some. I have no idea what the bots that run on WP are capable of. Let me see if I can get the people at toolserver to re-run the query before you start. --Thetrick (talk) 06:07, 17 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Userfy Template:Tiny green/Codepage

[edit]

Greetings. Please move Template:Tiny green/Codepage and any other personal templates that you have created into your user pages. Template:Tiny green/Codepage does not support encyclopedic content, so it is not really appropriate for the template namespace. You can still use the template as before once you move it, either directly by typing {{User:Thetrick/YourNewPagename}} along with any parameters when using it on your user pages, or by using {{subst}} with the appropriate syntax and parameters when using it in other namespaces. If you no longer need this template, please mark it for deletion by adding {{db-author}} at the top of the template. Thanks. Thetrick (talk) ~Thetrick (talk)~ (UTC)

Template

[edit]

But.. i don't remember making that template! I don't know what has happened, but I never created that template!!!! And no-one but me has used my account!--Islaammaged126 (talk) 13:30, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I don't know what happened. But can you add db-author to the top so we can be rid of it? Thanks --Thetrick (talk) 13:32, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cleanup, tagged!

[edit]

Hi there, I am the major contributor of the article "Wine-searcher", which was 'cleanup tagged'. I decided to start this article as I realized that considering their user rate, the unique service and a part of the web community, it would be an useful information on Wikipedia. I have no association with them, just a very happy user. All I wanted to share is useful wine information. The references and numbers quoted in the article are available on the net to be verified. Do you suggest any more edits?. Thanks & regards (Steve.bassey (talk) 07:02, 22 July 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Well, your pattern of contributions resembles that I've seen from other COI contributors. However, I'll take your word for it. You might want to review the article again to make sure it has NPOV. --Thetrick (talk) 11:27, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rutland and Washington Railroad

[edit]

A while ago, you created Rutland and Washington Railroad as a redirect. I started an article on the company, but it's still a stub. If you have any additional information on the company, please consider adding it. -- Eastmain (talk contribs count) 19:15, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is why went for years without contributing. I started a project, I got sick and couldn't work on it for a while, and now many hours of work are unrecoverable.
