Zackie Achmat photos

[edit]

Hi Thes entinel, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your recent uploads of the following photos:

Just as a side-note, the Wikipedia software can automatically resize the image for you, so the second and third images are unnecessary. I've changed Zackie Achmat to use the bigger original one (in the world of graphics, bigger is always better), so you're welcome to take a look at how to do it in the future. Also note that image names are case-sensitive, which is why your first attempt didn't work correctly.

Furthermore, you have stated that the copyrights to the image has been released, but you haven't claimed that you actually have the copyrights to release in the first place. Could you maybe just clarify (a) if you took them, or (b) where we can find the copyright owner's statement of release? Unfortunately, Wikipedia has no choice regarding strict enforcement of Copyrights; it poses a liability if not controlled. Best regards, dewet| 06:26, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Omar Sachedina requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Thes entinel! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 699 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Françoise Ducros - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

A tag has been placed on File:Zackie10001edit.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 15:16, 17 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
