hi there

[edit]

i've been honing Kohlberg's stages of moral development for a little while now, and noticed on your user page that you have a degree in philosophy. the article has a section on philosophical assumptions, but seeing as i have no formal knowledge in the subject i'd really love it if you could give at least that part of the text a look-over. if you're curious i guess - if not, sorry to bother. cheers. :) JoeSmack Talk(p-review!) 07:39, 23 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your support in this discussion, however, I noticed that you stated that this article may have encyclopedic value. I would disagree and would like to point out that the term itself is not in academic or popular usage and although it may have been used by one academic, that hardly meets the standards of notability. The ideas in the article merit encyclopedic value insofar as they are presented in a historical context within the article Race Science. The term itself, however, is not encyclopedic nor are the ideas in the article presented in a historical context. The ideas in the article used contemporary research to support them, yes. That research, however, is being twisted by the author in order to promote his ideas (which happen to be once accepted enough to be notable). That's the problem with origional research - you can manipulate it to support whatever ideas you'd like in a forum such as this. I hope that this sheds more light on my position. --Strothra 04:30, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coney Island Boy

[edit]

Hey, Way, I was coming to your page and noticed your nifty gay banner. I'm also gay and would like to know where you get all those banners you have up. Are they accesible by anyone?

On this Ughmonster thing, I normally woulnd't even comemnt because it's none of my business but it seems like that Midge guy and that other one are unfairly targeting Ughmonster simply because they don't like his article. Things like telling him not to comment when everybody else is commenting, and taking what was obviously a joke and making a problem out of it.

It would be cool if you could come down on Ugh's side a little and just tell EVERYONE to shut up already, that innappropriate sheninigans are happening on all sides. Ugh is clearly being a little babyish about the whole thing but it looks like he's trying to gracefully drop it and these guys just keep dogging him.

That's my two cents, take it or leave it. But please do get me that info. I wanna build my page. --ConeyIslandBoy 16:25, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Achaia Football Clubs

[edit]

I saw your comments in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Achaia Football Clubs and I want to tell you that I strongly agree with you. The guys there told me that I am anti-Greek and it only has no interest by me. How ever what I see all the foreigns who came supported its deletion. However, after they saw that they had no support, they coaliated and together agreed to find more Greeks to save the article, eventhough the non-Greeks do not want it (see contributions of FocalPoint, user:Tony esopi patra and more specifically of Georgeg). I would like from you if you could help and bring more people to vote DELETE because in wikipedia there will be an article eventhough is unimportant because some Greeks feel so patriotic to have stupid information in wikipedia (not a coincidence that they called me Anti-Greek). Interesting to see User talk:Georgeg --KRBN 16:39, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can you give your vote on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PAEEK please? --KRBN 16:48, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I see you've argued for delete in the above-mentioned AfD. Since your position was motivated by the absence of a claim to notability in the article in question, I thought you may be interested in knowing that subsequent edits have indeed included one such claim in the article, and fetched two references for it. You may want to give the article another look and see whether you become satisfied by that claim or still think deletion is in order. Thanks! --Nehwyn 11:31, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need Advice with Potential Trivia Article

[edit]

I got to your page from the Trivia Cleanup WikiProject page. I need advice regarding an article that I believe to be trivia. Because I am a WP newbie, I hesitate to do anything about it by myself. Could you please take a look at Elvira Arellano and tell me what you think? If it's not trivia, fine, I'll accept that and move on. But if it is, then what's the next step? Thanks —Chicaneo 09:05, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Elvira Arellano was nominated for deletion by another editor. Your input would be appreciated! Thanks -- Shunpiker 23:26, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Are you still active with the Trivia Cleanup project?

[edit]

I was wondering if you were still active with the Trivia Cleanup project. Seeing as how Category:Articles with large trivia sections hasn't gone down much, I figured many people became inactive. I've created a talk page discussion here, asking if people are active or not: Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Trivia_Cleanup#Who_is_still_active_with_the_project.3F. An Automated Message from HagermanBot

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 21:18, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Great Bot with one caveat

[edit]

Your bot is most definitely useful and necessary, though I have one problem with it. Currently, when it signs something it leaves a rather long message to the effect of "The previous unsigned comment was posted by..." in small text. The wording seems to give the impression that the editor who forgot to sign did something wrong. Can't the bot simply sign the editors username in a normal sized font with no additional text? --The Way 07:18, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AFAIK it just uses the standard {{unsigned}} template, which is used when you "sign" somebody else's work. — RevRagnarok Talk Contrib 15:45, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great work on the Development Economics article! I am doing a month-long course on it using the same textbook you cited for most of your sources, and will do my best to add to and criticize your work. (It's like studying, only worthwhile to society!)

Request for help

[edit]

I thought it might be a good idea to run a contest or two through the Countries WikiProject to attract editors to improve country coverage on Wikipedia, especially the country outlines.

I noticed you are a member of the WikiProject, and was wondering if you could help.

I've posted a message at Countries WikiProject talk page to get discussion started on what the awards programs should be and how they should be run.

Your ideas and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Bold, slightly reckless

[edit]

Gentle admonition You may want to review this edit to Illinois (album). As you correctly point out, there was a lot of original research in there, but some cited information as well; could none of that be retained? If you want to respond, please do so on my talk. —Justin (koavf)TCM05:31, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinion would be appreciated

As a member of WikiProject Countries, I'm seeking your opinion on a possible issue identified at List of sovereign states. If you have some spare moments, please contribute a comment at the Discussion of criteria. Best regards, Nightw 07:22, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Breyers Article

[edit]

Hi The Way I've come across some comments you made regarding this article and concerns that it sounds like an advertisement and I tend to agree. First, should let you know up front that I have a WP:COI and represent the Company. In looking at the article, we have noticed a number of inaccuracies including the wrong logo, misspellings, listing of products that no longer exist, confusion over which products are actually "frozen dairy deserts" vs. "ice cream" and in some instances lack of references.

I think you get the picture:) In any case, given your previous perspective I am wondering if you might consider working to address some if not all of these issues. Breyers would like to see its article be of the highest quality possible and have all the information it includes fall in line with Wikipedia guidelines.

If you agree, I am happy to work it through however you would like. Can identify the specific issues and provide you with the references and leave it up for your consideration to make the changes or not. Alternatively, I am happy to make the updates but would appreciate a watchful eye to ensure all the changes are in line with Wikipedia guidelines.

Appreciate your consideration of this. SusanChana (talk) 16:01, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
