Hi Mr. UIS
Hi...you know, I really love my school. With regards to what you have done, (the revision of Iloilo National High School article) made my day and ends up in a query, "Why bother on anybody's edited article when you too, don't even care to what the article is about?" The query may seem mad, but I'm just expressing my feelings. So, I hope you'd understand :D --Beonaku (talk) 05:13, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

163.153.74.216
HI. Thank you for reverting the recent mal-edits made by 163.153.74.216. The district has identified where this originated and is taking corrective action. --NERIC-Security (talk) 15:11, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- Heh... You're quite welcome. Patrolling edits to an IP range eh? I find that pleasing to see that someone, a member of the security staff in your case, has taken the initiative to specifically watch for vandalism from their school district(s) IP range, revert, and report it. Frankly I wish I could get paid to essentially sit and vandal-fight for hours on end... It would literally be a dream job for me :).
- Also, how do you "take corrective action" anyways? Is your system like the one that I used while I was at High School, where you would login with a username and pass to use your network? That seems like the most logical system to me, since you can easily check to see when and who had logged into the computer that the specific IP address was assigned. Until It Sleeps alternate 15:49, 5 August 2009 (UTC)
- I wish that patrolling were my only task. When I'm at my desk, I've got huggle looking for anon edits from our class B range. Other than that, I've got all 64k addresses in my watchlist and only catch things when others revert and/or block. Even without the username, we have are able to track the IP address of most stations. If it is soon enough after a mal-edit, then the teachers usually remember who was at a given station. Thanks again. --NERIC-Security (talk) 16:58, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

Hi, in the disambig page for Companion, you accused me of vandalism for trying to mention the fact that a companion in the TV series Firefly is someone who engages in state-sanctioned prostitution. I'm not trying to insert an obscene work, but trying to make a factual statement. - See also the discussion on Kingpin13's talkpage. Debating the best way to delete a nonsensical article about the obsession of a nonnotable person is a great plan for Wikilawyering and wasting time. You nominated it as G1 and I deleted it as G1. Kingpin says it shoud have been A7. I invited him to re-create it, delete it as A7, then properly inform the new editor who created the article. This is all a highly productive use of time, I am sure. That's it for editing today. Edison (talk) 02:58, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

I should be totally out of this debate, but your RfA is depressing to me. Although we've crossed paths before, and (i think) never communicated, I know your work is most deserving of adminship. You've got User:Newyorkbrad on your side, decrying the opposition. I think that it's criminal that you're not a shoe-in for admin, and others are. What do you mean as an "integral part of the community"?
Hi, Until It Sleeps. Thanks for reverting the edit I just made on WP:MISSING. I didn't know about the guidelines of placing a user in the Missing Wikipedians list in the first place. Anyways, you wrote "do not add people to this list who were never an integral part of the community" on my talk page. What do you mean as an "integral part of the community"? Regards, --BoeingRuleOfThe9th-700 Contact Jakarta Center at 121.96509:21, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- Well, he had less than 100 edits. Plus, since he apparently vandalized, it is even less likely that he was explicitly trusted by the community. I saw on your talk page that you were concerned that the edit was vandalism. Let me assure you that it wasn't. It was simply a mistake. Speaking of mistakes, on my checkersboard, you had "moved", twice, after another person had done their turn... and I hadn't even had a chance to move yet. I will forgive on this as well, but unfortunately, even if I had moved before you did, the 2 notations you had put on the page refer to moves where pieces aren't there(pieces can't be moved in the white space anyways). I've made my move, and removed your error so that you can go ahead and try again. It might be helpful to read up on the game too. Cheers. Until It Sleeps alternate 17:01, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

What right do you have to call me a vandal? I worked my ass off composing a well researched article on JFK, jr. When someone injected their biased, unresearched opinions on the matter, I deleted it. Excuse me if I am too new to have explained my deletion. I didn't know that there was a box for explanation. I didn't just delete his ramblings, I deleted my own work, also, trying to at least be fair. If you had bothered to read the discussion page, you would have known that. But, I guess you just like to accuse people of vandalism without justification. That is against the rules, here, but I guess I just am not the gestapo that you are. I will not report you for false accusation, but please... get over yourself. You are not the vandal police. You can't just go around accusing people of vandalism without even reading the discussion. igloo
Hi Until It Sleeps, and thanks for your interest in igloo; I probably now feel warm and fuzzy. Please read the following important info before continuing:
I'd like to take the time to remind you that igloo is in testing, and is wholly unfinished. Because of this, bugs may cause you to edit erratically or change the wrong thing, even if you pressed a button on a valid revert. This will result in angry users demanding to know why you have reverted their good change. You will need to apologise and fix it before continuing; if you can't handle this, please don't use the program. You will also need to regularly check your changes to ensure igloo is doing the right thing. If not, please let me know so I can fix it - this will help improve it for the future.
If you still wish to help test igloo, you will need to remember the following controls, as the igloo control system is incomplete at this time.
- When you are using igloo, it will inform you whether it believes an edit to be vandalism. The system for this is pretty complicated, and unfinished, but in part it relies on your assertions that an edit is, or is not, vandalism.
- When you revert an edit, you are asserting that it is bad, as well as reverting and warning. To do this, press Q on your keyboard while viewing a diff. The edit will be reverted, and the user will be warned. This will happen in the background as you go.
- When an edit is clearly not vandalism, you can skip to the next diff by pressing SPACEBAR - this will assert that the edit is good, and display the next diff.
- If you are unsure whether it is vandalism, and do not want to revert, press E to skip to the next diff without making an assertion.
- If you regularly make invalid assertions and revert good edits (and vice versa), igloo will automatically suspend your access to the tool.
igloo will list diffs at the left side of your screen. You can click a diff to display it, or press space/E to go to the top diff. These are listed in the likely order of vandalism; edits most likely to be vandalism are at the top, and those least likely are at the bottom. Edits that igloo believes are vandalism are highlighted red, and clean edits are green. Edits where igloo is unsure or neutral are highlighted in yellow.
If you now try to access igloo, you should find that your username is on the access list (NB. I added your alternate account as well). If you have any questions, comments, bugs or suggestions, please let me know on my talk page. Thanks again! Ale_Jrbtalk 20:20, 28 August 2009 (UTC)

On being an admin
Hey there! Are you an admin? Can you please block this user 96.10.92.234 (talk · contribs) due to persistent vandalism? By the way, can I do the blocking myself? It'll be so cool!!! Jayson28 (talk) 21:06, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- No, I'm not an administrator. Sorry... I almost became one when I ran for RfA not too long ago, but there was not consensus to promote me. Your best bet would be to report them here, so that an administrator can look at the contributions, and block them. And, unfortunately, you are not able to do the blocking yourself. That action is limited to administrators, so even I cannot do that.
- If you happen to want to become an admin, then stay around for a while. Read up on the guidelines and policies of Wikipedia, and make constructive contributions for about 4 or 5 months. It also helps to get experience in administrative areas as well. These will help you if you ever run for a request for adminship.
- Also, I just looked through the contributions of the IP. It is rather unlikely that an administrator would be willing to block, because his edits are spread out over days, and he has only vandalized once recently. Anyways, thanks for stopping by. Until It Sleeps Wake me 21:37, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- OK. I understood perfectly the heavy duties of being an admin. After reading the article on admins, I have decided not to become an admin due to the huge workload, although there are plenty of benefits of being one.
- On 96.10.92.234 (talk · contribs), I guessed all we could do to that user is to issue warnings, over and over again, and leave all the blocking to the admins? That's just way too bad. I'm sure you have already seen those horrible edits he has done to the article on Adam Goldstein. That person is being so disrespectful towards the late DJ AM! I'm totally disgusted by him. Reverting my edit of The Cartoon Cartoon Show
You continue to revert my edits and claim they are vandalism. I think you might have a program which automatically does this, but if not let me clarify why I am making this edit.
The text read "Melvin is an alienated looser.." I assumed this was a simple typo for loser so I made the change, which you evidently think is not appropriate. Let us look at the definitions of the two words and maybe I can persuade you why I am right.
Looser is an adjective, the comparative form of the word loose, which is an antonym for the word tight. Loser is a noun which means someone who fails to win.
Now, we can take a look at the sentence again "Melvin is an alienated looser..." Does it make sense to you to call someone an "alienated more loose"? No, it makes far more sense to call him an alienated loser, especially in the context of the entire sentence.
I apologize for listing my second edit summary as "changed the spelling mistake: looser to loser. looser refers to how tight something is. loser refers to the user who reverted my edit."; it was not very civil of me. I understand vandalism is a problem on Wikipedia and I detest it just as much as you, but your overzealousness in this matter has cause you to blindly revert legitimate edits. I would suggest actually seeing what part of the article was edited before assuming vandalism. 128.227.7.94 (talk) 16:22, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

- Um, actually I am, to the contrary, not a generalist... I'm a vandal fighter. I'm not exactly the best person to ask for help on this kind of stuff... but I'll try anyways. I believe that the Games branch in the Entertainment section could use some branches of its own, like, say Video games, Board games, etc...
- Sports could also use more branches as well, for different types, like, for example, Racing, and Contact sports to name a couple. Hope this helps you some. Cheers. Until It Sleeps 02:25, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments. The reversions were, in my opinion, proper at the time, however I will be more careful in the future. I believe in one situation I hit revert at the same time as someone else, which might have undid the previous revision. Additionally, on Rosetta Stone [2] I removed the text "I ROCK AND YOU DONT NO MATTER WHAT!" which to me seems like vandalism. I appreciate any further feedback you have, now and in the future. --mjwilson (Talk/Contrib) 16:00, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
- Actually, with the Rosetta Stone article, what actually happened was the situation that you stated immediately before you mentioned said article.
“ | I believe in one situation I hit revert at the same time as someone else, which might have undid the previous revision. | ” |
- I can forgive that one easily, being as that has happened to me before, particularly when Huggle was forced to run off the API for a time after MediaWiki, and the IRC feed was updated. So anyways, just be careful out there, especially with Igloo. I've used it too (and I found it particularly annoying that there is no way to see a diff that was previously viewed, at the time that I tried it.) Cheers. John Motson Page
The edit wasn't vandalism, and I resent it being called such. The section of the article has been tagged for transfer to wikiquote for nearly 18 months. The quotes were transferred, some non or less than notable ones were left out. Such long "quotations" sections are not the norm, nor are they encouraged. Once the quotes have been moved to wikiquote, and they have, the section becomes unnecessary. There was no cause whatsoever for the level 2 warning, had you taken the time to check wikiquote you would have realized that mine was a legitimate edit. 99.169.250.133 (talk) 07:06, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

- I'm going to chip in here, as a neutral party. Looking through your contributions, they fail to meet the neutral point of view criteria which Wikipedia strives for. I'm not sure why you consider the edits you make to be "ideologically necessary" - Wikipedia isn't about ideology, but about facts, written from a neutral point of view. I see that you currently have a block on editing due to your biased point of view. May I suggest that you take the remaining 30 hours as an opportunity to read the Neutral Point of View Policy - I would especially recommend reading carefully "Achieving neutrality" within the policy, along with the examples given. You might also want to read the No Original Research Policy, as some of your edits have veered close to violating this. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a question here (where Until It Sleeps or myself can try to answer them) or on my talk page. Update on Mysteriou Universe
RELIABLE SOURCES HAVE BEEN INCLUDED, PLEASE DO NOT DELETE PAGE
THESE ARE THE REFERENCES FROM reliable sources which satisfy claims of notability as per WP:N. The previous AfD
NEWS OUTLETS SOURCES : PRWEB[4]
NEWS.COM.AU [5]
They clearly stand for reliable sources and multiple items of media coverage to satisfy WP:N. Regarding PRWEB: News outlet that works with distribution partners such as Yahoo! News, Google News. Regarding NEWS.COM.AU: A widely known Australian news outlet.
DestroHolmes failure to see the changes may not be the most reliable point of view given to the fact that his edits and alleged clean up selectively erased the reliable sources. Please note that his edits worked more as surreptitious academic protectionism than acceptable encyclopedic criteria.
What kind of concensus can we have if only DestroHolmes makes all the decisions?
Regarding recent edits by User:Absolutemetazero the present version does NOT have issues with WP:OR, WP:NPOV, nor citation problems and rather it was reverted (diffs here) because it had been consistently suppressed by DestroHolmes. Wikipedia is about collaboration and not arbitrary deletion by one person such as DestroHolmes who seems to be defending Benjamin Grundy's interests instead of respecting encyclopedic guidelines.
I want to publicly denounce DestroHolmes and his attempts to suppress this page and its complaints of online fraud despite the addition of reliable sources. Furthermore, I want to publicly question DestroHolmes's real identity as a a possible acquintance of Benjamin Grundy or as Benjamin Grundy himself.
The edit war with Tonkacres/Zhenboy/Destroholmes was deliberately started when Benjamin Grundy and Aaron were sent private messages on facebook notifying them about the changes on Wikipedia and in less than an hour (Australian time) the edit war had started.
DestroHolmes then proceeded to block the accounts and then acted as expected: started protecting Benjamin Grundy.
The page was then subsequently changed by DestroHolmesin a deliberate attempt to obfuscate the evidence of possible online fraud in the section "Breach of contract" DestroHolmes was clearly manipulated to show how biased his views were.
The main purpose of the edit war was to draw DestroHolmes into making arbitrary decisions and cast light into his surreptitious academic protectionism and abuse of Wikipedia's Policies and guidelines by blocking users and making personal decisions to delete a page he has a conflict of interest with. Unfortunately for DestroHolmes his editing history clearly show his protectionism towards a podcaster involved with online fraud. Should wikipedia rely on DestroHolmes as a supporter of online fraud?
Please feel free to compare his edits since now it is too late for him to change them or cover his tracks.
This page should not be deleted because it has consistent relevance to the Wikiproject Podcasting as well as present and future Podcasters interested in avoiding the same pitfalls Benjamin Grundy went through. Benjamin Grundy did not respect acceptable business practices and all his listeners were lost due to accusations of Online fraud and numerous complaints.
Lastly, allow me to ask a logical question: Which one has more value?
A)Mysterious Universe and its possible case of online fraud where victims stated the events. B)An inane internet meme such as "Raptor Jesus"
Both are facing deletion yet only one has relevance to Newmedia and Podcasting.
If an article such as "Raptor Jesus" finds space in Wikipedia where does wikipedia take its cues for credibility? Furthermore, does keeping "Raptor Jesus" as an article make Wikipedia different from Uncyclopedia's "Raptor Jesus" article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.172.0.195 (talk) 14:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

FK Velež Mostar
I note that you have reverted my edit to FK Velež Mostar. If you look at the content I removed, you will see that it is a top 10 of "Best Players of All Time" of the FK Velež Mostar. A completely unsourced top 10, that is. It's not based on any contest or poll, there's no reliable source, it's just an indiscriminate collection of information, it is the personal opinion of a single editor. It is completely unsuitable for Wikipedia. I don't see why it should have been included in the first place, but I also fail to understand why it should have been restored. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 14:41, 12 October 2009 (UTC)

Good afternoon. I saw you marked this article CSD G1. The article is clearly not incoherent nonsense or gibberish. Please be careful when marking articles for CSD. Because CSD has no oversight or review, it is very important to the goals of Wikipedia that we stick closly to the criteria. The article was a db-hoax candidate though and I've marked it as such. However, if something doesn't fit criteria, it should be PROD or AfD. A great essay about this by Balloonman is WP:WIHSD and is actually pretty insightful despite it's name. 40th Infantry Division
I though I stated my argument for keeping the change adequately to the ClueBot, but the edit is not vandalism. Although obscene, the unofficial nickname of the division is what it is. Just because it is not nice or pc doesn't make it invalid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.79.15.102 (talk) 14:29, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
- Is it verifiable? The fact that it's "unofficial" only serves to raise a red flag. There needs to be a reliable source for calling an infantry division "Flaming assholes". Until It Sleeps Talk • Contribs 14:36, 21 October 2009 (UTC)
After reviewing the guidelines for verifiability, I don't know how I can meet that standard. I'm in the U.S. Army, and that is the division's unofficial nickname, as passed down through our fine (if not always soft on the ears) oral tradition. I'll concede that truth is not the same as verifiability, and if I can find a source, I'll let you know.(208.79.15.102 (talk) 08:48, 22 October 2009 (UTC))

Vandals
sure are active today.--Coldplay Expert 17:41, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
Hey, that's a pretty cool song. Ongar the World-Weary (talk) 08:05, 5 November 2009 (UTC)
Account Creation Tool query
I've got it set up to use automated welcome, but my signature doesn't work! I used the same format as I use on Wikipedia in my options:
<font color="#307D7E">Phantom</font><font color="#55CAFA">Steve</font> (<font color="#307D7E">Contact Me</font>, <font color="#5599FA">My Contribs</font>)
which should give
But it doesn't!
I just created an account, and here is what the SQLBot-Hello created - my sig isn't right!
Any ideas how I can get it to use the same sig as I use normally?

- Perhaps the tool is not set up to use "raw" signatures. The default for new users signing up to WP is not to support raw, but almost anyone who wants a custom sig will have to use raw because there is no other way to get fancy things like colors. So it might not be possible to do what you want. Though on the other hand there might be another way. UIS will probably know; I'm just posting here because I saw the message. -- Soap Talk/Contributions 01:45, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- I have no idea how to use it via wikicode. I believe the ACC tool can only use Wikicode, and not HTML... What I've done there is pretty much the same thing you have done, only I'm having it subst a page, specifically User:Until It Sleeps/signature.css. And it works perfectly. Why not try this, having your signature code in a .css subpage like -- PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ which not only allows you to use code other than simply <font>, but also makes it so that vandals can't even touch it. (Only administrators can edit other users' .css and .js pages). Then put in your ACC sig prefs, and it should work. - Wikicode is what is needed for ACC - thanks for the tip! -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 01:50, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- I've created the css - now all I have to do is wait for an account to be created by me, and then see what it looks like! I know the css works OK (I've tried it on my user talk page), but until I create an account, I won't see it working! Thanks once again! -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 02:09, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
- I have to ask, do you use IRC? There is a channel on freenode that shows a live feed of requested accounts, requests that have been reserved by other ACC tool users, and ones that have been completed. You can join it by clicking this link (if you have an IRC client): [6]. You can also join it via the Freenode webchat, and joining #wikipedia-en-accounts. - I don't very often use IRC, although I have software on my computer to do so. I need to do so more often! Thanks for the reminder -- PhantomSteve (Contact Me, My Contribs) 02:38, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
