I sent the above missive before reading your mea culpa on the Articles for Deletion page and I withdraw it.
However, I do not think I need to explain the importance of a bishop, whether it be Anglican, Orthodox, Roman Catholic, etc. Almost any bishop or archbishop or cardinal is notable encyclopaedically. Your bizarre rush to judgment without even tagging or PRODding the article is really incomprehensible. Askedandanswered (talk) 06:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I recently came across an edit to this article by you which stated that the internal links where not revelant. there are 6 internal links in this article. One links to the modern province of which this person was king. The other links to the branch of the dynasty he belonged to. Another links to the dynasty he belonged to. three others linked to kings that he was a.)descended from; b.)suceeded; and c.)suceeded by. So all these links are revelant. I am not certain of your logic so will undo your edit.
Hi The Obento Musubi- I'm working on a cleanup of the Mask entry. You've obviously noticed and short-circuited my attempt to place protective masks under a new heading. What are your thoughts on this? Bob (talk) 11:03, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I'm working on the page. I lifted the section straight out of the Masks article just because it was little more than a list, and wasn't up to the standard of the main body of that article. I'm absolutely no authority on protective masks so I'm hoping other editors might improve the quality of the Masks (protective) article. Regards Bob (talk) 11:11, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi The Obento Musubi. I found vandalism by Gerog10 in the article "insinerator" which you corrected by redirecting the page to the article "incineration".
I would suggest the page be deleted entirely, as otherwise people might think "insinerator" is a variant correct spelling of "incinerator". But I don't know how this is done (?) I tried emptying the page but that leaves an empty page - it doesn't delete the page entirely.

I would be glad to nominate you for adminship. Gimme some stuff to put in the nomination. How long have you been doing CSD and AFD work? How about participation in vandalism fighting? Have you worked at AIV before? Ever commented on a discussion at ANI, the Village Pump, or any policy discussions? These sorts of things come up in RFA votes, so if you have any experience in these parts of Wikipedia, or anything else from the admin end of things (work at Featured Articles, Good Articles, Peer Review) Just general evidence that you have particpated in a wide range of adminship-type activities tends to make the RFA go over smoother... --Jayron32.talk.contribs06:16, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Recall is a voluntary program whereby admins agree to voluntarily give-up their admin tools if they are called to do so by the community... I don't participate, some do, some don't. Some consider that anyone that WON'T particpate mandates an automatic oppose. Some consider anyone that WOULD participate an automatic oppose. Your damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Go figure. I would avoid the question if possible. --Jayron32.talk.contribs06:18, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding "vandal proof" and "vandal fighting". You don't need any special programs or scripts to do it. Just click on the recent changes button at left, and look for any suspicious edits. I have some general tips on the kinds of edits that often indicate vandalism, located here: User:Jayron32/Jayron32's Principles of Vandal Fighting. The basic procedure is this:
If you spot vandalism, revert it with an edit summary indicating you are doing so.
Warn the user on their talk page using the appopriate warning (full list found here: WP:UWT) or, if you wish, you can leave a personal message and don't need to leave a template, but the templated messages are convenient
If a vandal appears to be a "repeat customer", escalate the warning as appropriate (for extermely eggregious vandalism consider using the uw-bv template or the uw-vand4im template)
If a vandal has been warned that they may be blocked for continuing vandalism (generally, any level 3 or level 4 warning will do this; or you can type your own warning where you warn them of the danger of being blocked) and they STILL continue to vandalise, report the vandal at WP:AIV.
Just wanted to let you know that it might be a good idea to leave the {{Rfa-notice}} template off of your talk page and other pages until you actually transclude it to the main page to start the discussion. Otherwise, you may be evaluated based on draft versions of your answers to questions instead of the polished finished product you want to present. Then there's the early voters, of which I see you have one already....
"Cuyler has been a wonderful user, Cuyler has been a very easy to like user and extremely kind something that every admin should have. It is rare to see kindness of this sort on Wikipedia and I feel that an admin with these traits is necassary. The user has shown great patients working with several users who most of us would give up on and since has made them very useful contributers to Wikipedia. Cuyler has shown experiance in editing and has made the article on The Carpenters which at one time almost became featured. It would be a waste to say no to an editor like Cuyler. I really want to go again, but I do not have an edit summery usage of 100% or even close. I believe it is at 56%. I also need to work on articles for some strange reason. Kinda wierd denying a user who is primarly an Anti-Vandal. I may try again withing the next couple of weeks if my edit summery usage hits 90% but until then I am stuck. By the way I will be using your template instead. I dislike all the extra code. Rgoodermote17:47, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I actually do have that on, I turned it on because an admin suggested it to me. The main issue is that I do not make a lot of Major Edits. I seem to be an exception to the rules here. All my edits are Anti-Vandal. Which is marked minor by default. I am semi-intent on getting the mop. But to ensure that I do I want to be able to secure a wholehearted support from everyone. I started thinking a little bit, I think I will try again this week. But I need to do a little studying. The admin rollback question got me and I really need to start being more trusting when it comes down to questions. This time I will be specfic in my duties. Rgoodermote17:57, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I need to make things a littler clearer from now on. I have noticed that I tend to confuse myself half the time. Anyways, I hope to see you as an admin and as I stated you being given the mop is probably the second best day of Wikipedia. Second to the creation of Wikipedia. there will be another great banker of Latvia added : Victor Krasovitsky. You already have him posted on Kargin's page, but i will be adding him separate, specialy, what he almost become my father-in law, back in the days.
don't realy know, what you did, but looks like you did not like my 2 important references, and added some not related directly to Valery Kargin link from Forbes. That link, that you added, is more related to Bank.
It is supposed to be sarcastic...a joke. But I will rephrase it for you. I have been thinking of mine. Maybe sunday, but no promises. Rgoodermote14:44, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think you should probably slow down a bit. You're last, unsuccessful, RFA was less than a month ago. I don't think in good conscience I can co-nominate you without some evidence of experience in admin-like processes for a few months. Really, I have given you some tips on how to make yourself an attractive RFA candidate, but that can't happen in a short time. Build a reputation and be helpful in the areas I have listed above. I would be glad to support you when you are ready... I just don't think you are ready now... --Jayron32.talk.contribs17:29, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree with the guy...I have thought it over, 1 month is to fast. I will wait 2 months and see what happens. I will keep my co-nomination up and I will support you. But I can not in any frame of mind seriously try another RfA. But if you feel you are ready I will support and I will watch. Rgoodermote00:51, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am not one for sending round pretty pictures, but after my recent RfA, which passed 68/1/7, I am now relaxed and this is to thank you for your support. I will take on board all the comments made and look forward to wielding the mop with alacrity. Or two lacrities. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 21:36, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Cuyler! I'm gradually finding my way around Wikipedia but am wondering why I agreed to help the OTVA notify the world of their existence and relevance because I now see that the item is tagged with "copy edit me" and "wiki me". I can't fathom the need for copy editing because the spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc is all consistent with the Australian Government Style Manual for authors, editors and printers (trust me, I was in corporate communication for 23 years before retirement and know that manual backwards!).
In terms of your comments about "blatant advertising", I trust you've now accessed the OTVA website and agree that it's a non-commercial organisation which exists to facilitate information about the international telecommunications industry for archivists, researchers and the like. However, I've now edited the text to remove some of the more "marketing-oriented" comments that you interpreted as advertising. I hope all is now OK and request that you review the need for your tags (particularly the "speedy removal" one which I couldn't find and hence couldn't address as you instructed). I've done my best to follow the wishes of the OTVA executive but am not in a position to suddenly learn an entirely new editing system, or to enter into a debate about style or intent of content, so must leave those matters for the Wikipedia administrators. All I can reiterate is that the OTVA is a credible organisation of importance to archivists and researchers interested in some aspect of the international telecommunications industry, hence this approach to list the organisation on Wikipedia. It would be a great loss if it was refused entry into Wikipedia because someone believes the spelling and/or grammar is "inconsistent". Regards Linhmartin (talk) 09:00, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, got quite a bit of their stuff. Loved Karen's voice, the equivalent of audible hot chocolate and Peluso's solo on GTL could go on for hours as far as I'm concerned. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 01:08, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I've just had a quick look at the discog, and an album I've got, "Live at Talk of the Town" (in London) isn't there. It was an official release here, so it should be. It's a great album, Karen does some pretty flash drumming, and I'll try to remember to dig it out & write it up tomorrow.
I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and took the liberty of creating a subpage of your sandbox for you and pasting the text. If you would like it deleted, you can tag it with a CSD#U1.
Unfortunately, as it stands right now, I think its very questionable regarding his notability. Any notability he might have right now seems to be from one event. Perhaps, once any laws are passed - especially if they are named after him, he'll stand a much better chance. Jauerbackdude?/dude.14:10, 2 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Overseas Telecommunications Veterans Association (continued)
Greetings once again The Obento Musubi! Thanks for making those stylistic edits to the OTVA copy but I note there are now three tags at the top of the page! The newest one talks about notability and the need to reference third party publications on the subject. I had actually included these references but they seem to have vanished. The OTVA can be referenced via its own website, the OTVA newsletters (see also OTVA website), as well as OTC's then company magazine Transit which, per Australian law, was a registered publication copied to all state libraries and the national library. OTC ceased to exist after February 1992 when it was merged with Telecom Australia to form AOTC: subsequently renamed Telstra, but all materials including those mentioned above are held in OTC Archives which now form part of the Telstra Collection (archives). I can put you in touch with the Telstra archivist if you wish to verify the situation? You also mentioned that the reason the OTVA entry is tagged "wikify" is because it's not linked to anything else in Wikipedia, although I notice that you've now linked it to OTC (Overseas Telecommunications Commission). Does this mean that the entry now satisfies Wikipedia criteria and the tags can be removed so I can report back to the executive committee that their wishes have been realised?
Cheers Linhmartin (talk) 05:59, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings again The Obento Musubi! Thanks very much for your help thus far - and I've followed your suggestion to merge the highlights, although I must say it doesn't make it as easy for researchers as the original tabular layout. Not to worry, I'm happy to follow the site rules even though I had no idea what I was getting into when I agreed to research and write the document! That said, I can't put the ref tags on pages where the info came from, as you suggest, because the info didn't come from Wikipedia - so I'd be grateful if you can help with the notability refs so I can follow up later to try and get the tag removed. The third party publications to support OTVA's "notability" include the organisation's own website (although that's hardly "third party"!) and the OTC company magazine, Transit, produced until 1995 and lodged not only in OTC Archives as part of the Telstra Collection (Telstra archives), but also with all state libraries and the national library of Australia, in compliance with Australian law. Membership of OTVA consists of former members of C&W, AWA, OTC and, since deregulation of the industry in 1997, now also includes members of Telstra (formerly AOTC) and anyone with a background and/or interest in international telecommunications - they do not have to be Australian, nor are they in many cases. Telstra, incidentally, is Australia's first and largest full service telecommunications carrier and a correspondent organisation with more than 300 carriers from 185 countries and territories, ie just about the whole developed and developing world. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Linhmartin (talk • contribs) 11:45, 3 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this is so close to being there, and I've tightened up bits of the wording, see diffs. I'm not sure the stuff about Offering should be in the lead, because I think it's too particular to the history of that album and the lead is already quite lengthy. Some sections may fall down on references, but other than that, it seems to meet the criteria. Go for it! --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 00:06, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ouch! On a quick look, both pages look identical to me (but it's late here & I have had a busy day!). I don't want to do the move without looking more closely, because that might lose information. Perhaps the best way to manage this is to update the target page with the difference between the two releases (maybe with a separate section setting out the differences in the re-release) and then CSD the source as a duplicate, or just redirect it, and I could do that, no problem. Let me know what you think about that. Good work on the discography, BTW! --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 00:48, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if I was unclear in the FLC. Basically, the discography should look somewhat similar to other FL discographies. There's a multitude of reasons why those FL discographies look they way they do, and I'm not going to go into each and every characteristic they share, but suffice to say that consistency is important. The stuff that I helped you out with what pretty much what I meant. My main concern with the discog as it stands now is that some section have taken my suggestions into account and some haven't. The compilations and live albums section look good, but every other section is a different style than those two sections (so the list isn't consistent with itself), and different form similar sections in other FL discographies (so the list isn't consistent with FL precedent). I hope that makes sense. The list, as it stands, is very good, but only half completed, stylistically speaking. Let me know if you have any other questions. Drewcifer (talk) 22:20, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The content isn't what concerns me with the list - everything is there that should be there - it's just that it's presented poorly and inconsistently. For example, compare two tables, the solo albums table to the studio albums table. I can spot 10 stylistic differences easily. Column widths, one's sortable one's not, which column notes are placed in, what kind of notes are mentioned, etc. Obviously I would recommend stylizing everything to match the studio albums table. That even means minor things like using "—" rather than "-", or making sure all the year columns are the same width. It's just things like that that leave the list very unpolished, and therefore not representative of "Wikipedia's best work". Drewcifer (talk) 02:51, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I did a little bit of the programming bits for you. There's no reason to have any of a discography sortable, so I just took it all out. Also, alot of the cells have valign="top" which is kind of redundant in a single row. I started to take those out, but realized there's a ton of them. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time to do the whole thing for you. When in doubt, try looking at the code of other tables, that's how I learned to do stuff. Drewcifer (talk) 03:05, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My edits were fairly minor, and, at least in my opinion, a great deal more work needs to be done. I've specified many times already what those things are, so I won't repeat it again. Unfortunately I don't have time to do those things for you. I made those minor edits of the wiki programming simply because you said you did not understand how to do it. All of my other suggestions seem fully within any capable editors hands, so I will leave them to you. Drewcifer (talk) 07:13, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Paint sealant, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Ashwini Gupta, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I am back, it went well by the way. My grim prediction has obviously been proven false and my week long recovery has been proven false as well. I am back at home doing extremely well...like gold. Anyways thank you for watchlisting me while I was gone. Rgoodermote22:12, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
No I haven't had a lot of time to even start it. I haven't decided if I want to go through it or not. I am never going to write an article and I still need to get my edit summery usage up.Rgoodermote22:20, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I just did a huge addition to the Nick "The Goat" Thompson page that was deleted by a bot. I added all sorts of verifiable info. Is there any way for you to retrieve the information that was just automatically deleted?
Thanks for all your help on the Nick Thompson page. For some reason, his fight record is split off of the box that summarizes it and is showing up below the "external links". I'm also sorry about the "don't edit this" comment. This is my first time adding an article and my instinct was to organize it so things weren't changing while I was working on it.
You have previously expressed an interest in undergoing the Admin coaching program. We're currently engaged in a program reset to help things move more smoothly in the future. If you are still interested in the program, please go to Wikipedia:Admin coaching/Requests for Coaching and re-list yourself under Current requests, deleting your entry from Older requests. Also, double-check to make sure coaching is right for you at theCoachee checklist; WP:Adoption or WP:Editor review may be more appropriate depending on your situation and aspirations. We should get back to you within a day or so, once a coaching relationship has been identified. Thank you. MBisanztalk06:54, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Given the limited coaching resources of the Admin Coaching project, if you plan to take a Wikibreak of more than 30 days, please notify your coach or myself so that we will know not to tag you as retired and give your spot to another user. Remember that adminship is not a big deal and that it may take multiple RfAs before one becomes a sysop, even for a highly qualified, coached, editor. Also, remember that while admin coaching will help you prepare for the mop, there is no guarantee that completing this program will ensure passage of an RfA.
kicking off lets find what you know and dont know, this little exercise is aimed at getting the most out of my coaching. Could you find out please. The user who deleted it said that it was "re-created". I didn't realise the article had been tagged for deletion, but for what reason. Could you find out please thanks. JayJ47 (talk) 04:19, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi its me again. If its not too much trouble I was wondering if you'd like to help me convince the user who deleted the discography page (User:Acalamari) to allow me to re-create it. I agree with you and think that it is ridiculous that discography pages are deleted for the fact that the artist has only released one album. So, if you aren't too busy I'd appreciate it if you could help me on this. Let me know as soon as you can on my talk page. JayJ47 (talk) 04:12, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have discovered another discography page here similar to the Fergie page I created. IT has one album also. So I guess we could say why there isn't a reason for this article to be deleted. However this article is good though, so at the time we might have to try and prevent this user from deleting this page also!! JayJ47 (talk) 04:27, 27 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, The Obento Musubi. You have new messages at Chetblong's talk page. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Warning! This conversation below this is very negative, and brings out the worst in me. Please don't remind me of this unless the situation makes it necessary.
I really don't know what's happening. Please do not grumble on my page, though, as it brings a lot of negativity from me. So.... should you have any grievances towards me, please deal with it in a different way, i.e. assuming good faith, telling me in a nicer tone (have wikiquette and civility), etc. Cuyler91093 (Contribs) 18:00, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
AND.... why didn't you respond regarding the admin coaching thing? I must've left two notices on your talk page, and you have not responded to any of them... yet, you reply with a complaint regarding an RfA card and my RfA page. Perhaps you could tell me WHAT is wrong with the wording instead of "grumbling" about it. Cuyler91093 (Contribs) 18:02, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that, I am just to kind to tell you that it sounds like you want the tools way to much. But at the same time I need to point out that that is really all people want when they try an RfA. Rgoodermote18:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Couldn't think of a title. Anyways I watchlisted you and I will your other pages and articles. If you happen to be on could you do me a favor. A new user User:Connortt9 would like a talkspace and userspace layout. I figured you were the besf person for the job. You don't have to. Really I am asking because I just can't help but to help the new usersRgoodermote22:26, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
