Advice on getting format consensus?
Care to give me some advice here? Cordially, SergeWoodzing (talk) 14:29, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
Maria Maddalena of Austria
Hey, QEII's Little Spy! How are you? I was wondering why you moved the said article to 'Archduchess Maria Magdalena of Austria (1589–1631)'? In agree with 'Archduchess', but, as far as I know, she's generally referred to as 'Maria Maddalena' in Medici-related texts. Hope all's well! :) -- Jack1755 (talk) 20:45, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'm good. I move it caused it seemed that Grand Ducheses should be name by their birth title and the only articles on Grand Duchesses that doesn't follow this is Maria Maddalena's article and Joanna of Austria's article. I don't know how to move article over existing redirects. Do you?--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 20:56, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
- Ok I changed it to Maria Maddalena.--Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 20:56, 15 May 2010 (UTC)
Habsburg Infanta/Infante of Spain
Well, besides being infantes and infantas of the Spanish kingdoms, they were also archdukes and archduchesses of Austria. Sometimes history remembers those Spanish infantes by their Austrian title. This is because the House of Habsburg was often called House of Austria; therefore, Anne of Austria=Anne of Habsburg. "of Austria" (de Austria) was some kind of a surname to them. See for example the article about Charles II of Spain at the Spanish Wiki - the lead sentence refers to him as Carlos II de Austria. It seems that their status as Spanish infantes was actually in the dust! Surtsicna (talk) 11:33, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- Well here is my stance on this. It seems rather redunctant to mention them as part a country that only one of them, Charles I of Spain, ever ruled at all. And when I started editing on Wikipedia half these articles in question were X of Spain, some of Philip I of Castile's daughters were once X of Castile. Plus many of the different language wikipedia disagree. Some German article agree to their Spanish/Castilian background while some Spanish articles agree to their Austrian background. --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 14:49, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- It might not make sense, due to the fact that agnatic descendants of Charles I of Spain did not rule Austria, but they are legitimately called X of Austria because they were Archdukes of Austria, members of the House of Austria and (most importantly) historians refer to them as X of Austria. I too used to have a problem with that until I realized that it doesn't actually matter. What would you like to change? Surtsicna (talk) 14:57, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- I wouldn't want anything if it's going to be controversial. I would want to see some later Infantas of Spain move back to their original X of Spain. Like Anne of Austria to Anne of Spain. Are you sure that the former is more common? --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 15:04, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- I am afraid that moving Anne of Austria to Anne of Spain would be more than controversial. It would be impossible. See for yourself: 270 books refer to her as Anne of Austria and 130 books refer to her as Anne of Spain. Besides, all major biographies of Queen Anne of France are titled Anne of Austria. Surtsicna (talk) 18:30, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
- Okay. You know what forget about it. It's fine. --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 21:38, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Hello
Thank you its good to be back, I'm planning more articles, Maria of Naples being one of them I'll keep you informed on my progress--David (talk) 15:28, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
- Okay. I added Maria to List of consorts of Montpellier, it weird that I actually did this before a list of Majorcan consorts. I need to fix up the Aragonese list first before thought. --Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy (talk) 00:29, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Queen Mother
Hello! Users have started removing "Queen mother" infoboxes a year ago or so. The reason for that is the fact that they are useless. The position of a queen mother is not defined; the title and honour is sometimes held only by the king's mother, sometimes by the king's stepmother, sometimes by the king's grandmother, etc. The title itself exists only as a courtesy title (and such titles are generally not granted a succession box). Besides, it is rarely ever used; Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon is actually the only queen mother that I can think of right now who actually used the title "Queen Mother". Thus, claiming that Mary of Guise used the title "Queen Mother" may be original research. If we had succession boxes for queens mother, we'd have to have succession boxes for dowager queens and similar unneccessary succession boxes. Surtsicna (talk) 17:11, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
You are now a Reviewer
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 23:20, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Consorts of Thuringia
Hello, yes of course I remember you, you made a great job on adding and completing consort lists. Thanks for the nice offer, I will see what I can do, because Thuringia is a complicated matter, with its fragmentation into many Duchies called Saxe-xy (and more of other little counties), but located in Thuringia, while the early rulers, like landgraves and counts palatine are somewhat unclear to me.
Best wishes --Ulf Heinsohn (talk) 11:36, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Queen Margaret
Hello Queen Elizabeth II's Little Spy! Yes I can probably make an article for Queen Margaret I've tackled Alice of Korikos and got something out of her. If your interested my latest articles have been Constance of Aragon, Queen of Majorca and Joanna of Aragon, Countess of Ampurias. All the best, I'll tell you when I'm finished with Margaret--David (talk) 18:42, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
You have presented me with a challenge...Margaret's parents dont have their own articles, she doesnt have her own entry on medieval lands and there is already someone called Margaret of Soissons so the pair get confused with eachother..I will still carry on though but it might be a bit short--David (talk) 19:04, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
Well with a long look for information and help from Hungarian Wikipedia I finished her Margaret of Soissons, Queen of Armenia--David (talk) 19:46, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
I think that either they are cousins or Margaret of Soissons is an aunt of Margaret of Soissons, Queen of Armenia. Its hard to find I usually use medieval lands for my information but the rulers of Soissons dont have an entry and hardly any of them have articles on wikipedia--David (talk) 14:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey Hey! Just got your message..firstly it was User:Ruby2010 who created the template (I hate people who take credit for work which is not their own lol). Regarding the layout, I changed it (first to present) as Italy has no monarchy whereas the Spanish consorts template for example shows Queen Sofia at the top as part of a monarchy. I do not know if you are aware but in, Italy noble and royal titles were abolished in the 1940's as such it made sense to change the way it was! hope that makes sense and that you are ok :) Monsieur le Duc LouisPhilippeCharles (talk)
Sidonie of Poděbrady
Thank You. Yes sure I'll create an article for Sidonie, I had thought about creating one for her before but more exciting royals came up and I guess I forgot about her :( I'll create her article soon--David (talk) 10:11, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
House Names
Hey! One could argue they did not exist; these people were members of the House of whatever i.e. the Duke of Nemours of the House of Savoy, not Savoy-Nemours; the Duke of Angoulême of the House of Valois; Duke of Beja of the house of Aviz etc Just saves confusion! Keeping them under an umbrella so to speak instead of them being everywhere :) Make sense? lol Monsieur le Duc LouisPhilippeCharles (talk) 15:45, 2 August 2010 (UTC)
A collapsed ahnentafel
I finally came up with a crude solution of the always-open ahnentafel by creating Template:ahnentafel-collapsed-top. You can restore the "hidden" default to any table whose code begins with "ahnentafel top" by inserting "-collapsed-" to make "ahnentafel-collapsed-top". The colour also reverts to the standard pale violet, so you can distinguish the result (in addition to show/hide) from "ahnentafel top"'s.
I started work on using this to restore some of the tables we've had to shrink or delete while the thing was stuck open: at Queen Victoria and within Grandchildren of Victoria and Albert at V&A themselves, Crown Prince Frederick and Alexandra of Teck. If you feel up to restoring some more this way, please go right ahead. You can find the old tables at http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Grandchildren_of_Victoria_and_Albert&oldid=366927420 . Plus there are several individual royals' articles that I don't know about which could use some restoration or enhancement. (I have some New York demographics to update, as well as possible refinements to United States presidential nominating conventions, so I wasn't planning to undertake and complete a one-man ancestry restoration project.)
