Speedy deletion nomination of The Star Five

[edit]

Hello The Doctor 1170,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The Star Five for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Anonymouspoutateoh (talk) 13:38, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Matthew's New Hope

[edit]

The article Matthew's New Hope has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable, nonexistent book. Wikipedia is not a crystal ball.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:46, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Spyro's Curse requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

Notability

[edit]

Hi! I was about to let you know about a page move I did, but I see that you've recently had a lot of articles deleted and I thought I'd explain why.

In the case of Draft:Michael Jackson & The Jacksons – Month To Month Recording Session Guide, I've left an explanation here, so I won't go into more detail here for space concerns.

Now as far as the other articles go, it looks like you were mostly posting about books that you wrote yourself. Please be aware that most books do not pass WP:NBOOK, as it's an incredibly difficult guideline to pass and until very recently, even being on the NYT Bestseller List wasn't seen as a sign of notability. Most fanfiction or autobiographies will not pass these guidelines. Other articles you wrote seem to be about things that happened to you, like a claim of a curse surrounding Spyro. This sort of thing isn't seen as notable per the site's guidelines, which are fairly strict and hard to pass.

I think that it might be a good idea for you to hold off on creating new articles right now, since I don't know that you're really all that aware of policy and guidelines. I'd like to recommend that you take one of the training programs like WP:ADVENTURE and seek out a mentor or at least go visit the WP:TEAHOUSE for advice before creating an article. Now when it comes to article creation I'd recommend that you only create articles via WP:AfC, the articles for creation process. This will give you more time to work on the article and you'd get some feedback if the article is declined, which means that you may be able to try fixing any problems. However please be aware that if you're writing about things that would not pass notability guidelines at all, the articles will not be approved.

I have to warn you: if you make a lot of articles that do not pass notability guidelines and only concern yourself, you do run a risk of getting blocked as a disruptive editor. That's why I'd really recommend that you do the above advice. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 11:47, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of why you can't make more changes to Wikipedia at present

[edit]

Hi The Doctor 1170,

I'm Peter from Australia who uses the "username" Shirt58 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log). I'm a Wikipedia editor and Administrator on the English language Wikipedia.

It seems like you might have misunderstood what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia on the internet.

Wikipedia is not a website to host your own writing. I love reading books and writing about them. But uploading details of your own writing is not what Wikipedia is for.

Perhaps you could start your own website for your writing? There are a number of websites that will allow you to upload your writing at no cost. Please do be careful with them, as with anything on the internet. They may collect your details (like your mobile phone number, your email address, and so on) for commercial purposes.

So far, you haven't used Wikipedia for what it is for. This is the reason I have blocked you from making changes to Wikipedia.

You have been blocked for no specific period of time. This does not mean forever. You could be unblocked tomorrow, if you agree that you will not use the English language Wikipedia as a web-host.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this, or anything else related to Wikipedia.
