The Active Atheist (talk) 08:55, 1 August 2016 (UTC)== August 2016 == Information icon Welcome, and thank you for your attempt to lighten up Wikipedia. However, this is an encyclopedia and the articles are intended to be serious, so please don't make joke edits. Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, please use the sandbox instead, where you are given a certain degree of freedom in what you write. bonadea contributions talk 08:52, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on User:The Active Atheist/sandbox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Created in order to document a vandalised version of a Wikipedia article

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. bonadea contributions talk 10:20, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism happens on Wikipedia, all the time, every hour of every day. Sometimes the vandals manage to be quite funny, but using a Wikipedia page to document some random juvenile wasting other volunteers' time unfortunately falls outside what Wikipedia is for. You might be interested in browsing Wikipedia:Silly Things and the various pages in Category:Wikipedia Bad Jokes and Other Deleted Nonsense - a lot of it is quite funny, and it also explains why pages like that are no longer added to. Response to your post here: I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean by "shut down an inactive user page, banned a sandbox option, CSD, placed on a watch list and now a red IP total ban". What happened was, from my perspective: I noticed that you had, in good faith, used your user talk page to document vandalism to a Wikipedia article; I reverted the vandalism which had been performend by some random IP user; I removed the documentation thereof from your user talk page; and I placed a notice about why I had done that. When you recreated the documentation in your sandbox I flagged that for the administrators to check and possibly remove if they agreed with my opinion, and then posted a longer notice here to explain why I'd done that. That's all. Sorry this came across as so harsh. The good news is that you don't need to wait for anybody else to remove vandalism, and you don't have to report it anywhere (unless it is a page that is protected from editing by anybody but administrators - in that case you can post to the article's talk page to point it out.) File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Flag of Australia (converted).svg.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:12, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
