Substing
[edit]I substituted the lang-he template, by typing subst:lang-he|whatever instead of lang-he|whatever. some templates need to be substed per WP:SUBST, because transclusion (one document calling enother) needlessly takes up system resources. No change was supposed to be seen. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 00:32, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, just type in the template|modifyers the way you usually would, and include subst: within the double brackets before the template name, and it'll come out with the template's code instead of calling the template. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 00:45, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
- Correct and right. It's no big deal, really. Just optimization for our servers. No big problem. Happy editing. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 01:08, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
MS Userbox
[edit]I like the first one, it's more condensed ;D Kalani [talk] 18:03, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I like the second one. --Kapowza 21:01, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
The second has the pretty writing, but Kalathalan is right that the first one is more condensed. If you decide to add more userboxes, it would probably look neater to have them be all the same size. -Fsotrain09 15:48, 11 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks!

Terror NPOV
[edit]I agree. It is terrorism and it should be called such. I added the NPOV tag after the word 'terorrizing' was repeatedly edited out. Just letting you know I'm on your side. The NPOV was 'ours' in this case, not theirs. --Daniel575 21:22, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Can you help me?
[edit]Hello. I was wondering if you could give me some pointers about Maple Story, as you seem to know ALOT. please leave me a message.

Wikibooks templates...
[edit]What's the deal? --SB_Johnny|talk|books 16:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I just reverted those (wmog template replacements). Large books that are "transwiki built" (like the {{cookbook}}) are better having a separate template, since part of the reason they are moved to wikibooks is in order to remove how-to sections, and the templates are intended to alert wikipedia editors that there is how-to information there, and so they should not add it to the wikipedia article (doesn't always work, but that's the theory).
- The template does need redoing though (all the wb templates do) because of the new wikibooks logo. I'll try to add that now. --SB_Johnny|talk|books 16:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Orphaned fair use image (Image:Wizet logo.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wizet logo.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 23:36, 6 January 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:MSdying3.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:MSdying3.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 01:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
Image:Character_creating_screen.jpg
[edit]I have tagged Image:Character_creating_screen.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. BigrTex 01:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Motto of the Day Help Request April 2014
[edit]→ You want answers?
— I want the truth!
— You can't handle the truth!
Motto of the Day (WP:MOTD) is in a state of emergency and really needs your help! There are not enough editors who are reviewing or nominating mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review, and this probably means that you will notice a red link or “This space for rent” as our mottos for the next weeks and months.
Please take a moment to review the nominations and nominate your own new mottos at Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/In review and Wikipedia:Motto of the day/Nominations/'Specials. Any help would be appreciated! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
- This message has been sent by pjoef on behalf of Motto of the Day to all editors of the English Wikipedia who are showing MOTD's templates on their pages, and to all the participants to MOTD: (page, template, and category).
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:58, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
