Привіт! I noticed you are interested in Ukraine-related themes, so you may want to check out the Ukraine Portal , particularly the Portal:Ukraine/New article announcements and Portal:Ukraine/Ukraine-related Wikipedia notice board. The New article announcements board is probably the most important and the most attended one. Please don't forget to announce there the new articles you create. Adding both boards to your watchlist is probably a good idea. You can also join WikiProject Ukraine, a tool to help perfect the Ukrainian related articles on the English Wikipedia. We would be glad to have you as a member of WikiProject Ukraine! |
- Дякую! =) Thanks for the proposal, I'll consider it, but unfortunately I currently don't have much leisure time to participate in the project fully. --//Microcell// 13:52, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
I replaced the {{db-empty}} speedy deletion tag with a prod describing the article as WP:MADEUP. this article inst eligible for deletion under section A3 because it does have some content, despite how inappropriate the content is.--RadioFan (talk) 19:11, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, thanks, I just thought that since this term was coined two days ago, most likely it's an original research. If anyone finds any reliable sources on it, it will be great, but I don't see such ones.--Microcell (talk) 19:31, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
- By the way, doesn't it fit CSD A7?--Microcell (talk) 19:35, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Muni Hitruchi Vijay
[edit]Hello Microcell, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I declined the speedy deletion of Muni Hitruchi Vijay - a page you tagged - because: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Please review the criteria for speedy deletion before tagging further pages. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. ϢereSpielChequers 15:23, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
Deletion of link on regenerative thermal oxidizer
[edit]Hello Microcell.
I added a link to Environmental Expert because it is the number 1 portal for air pollution control and as such much more relevant than the other link, Process Register. Nearly all RTO suppliers in the world are registered on Environmental Expert. I feel that a list of suppliers of RTOs is an important information for the user and not just a commercial link. Otherwise, why don't you delete the link to Process Register as well? Airpollutioncontrol (talk) 16:29, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
- Well, I've recovered the link, to tell the truth, I'm not an expert in this area. Mostly your edits seemed to be test (e.g. dewikification, hopefully you already understand this), so I reverted them "automatically", sorry for assuming bad faith. If you need to define whether the link is appropriate, I'd rather you familiarized yourself with WP:EL or asked more experienced users than me. --Microcell (talk) 17:48, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Samuel Lodato
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Samuel Lodato. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Samuel Lodato. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
Manufacturing Dissent
[edit]I don't know what you're talking about, concerning the Manufacturing Dissent article. It was a pretty straightforward point of information, referenced. Check out the reference, watch the film [Manufacturing Dissent] if you like. It's acknowledged by most that scene was staged, interesting to note the article undone almost as soon as it was revised. More Wikipedia censorship, inconvenient truth flushed down the Wikipedia Memory Hole. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.97.9.194 (talk) 18:16, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- The fact is that not all cited content is suitable for Wikipedia; your addition, for instance, violated WP:COPYVIO exactly towards the site mentioned by you. As well it's inappropriate because of WP:PLOT and WP:FILMPLOT, please, get to know these guidelines.--Microcell (talk) 18:30, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Your rollback request
[edit]Hello Microcell, I have granted rollback rights to your account in accordance with your request. Please be aware that rollback should be used to revert vandalism/spam/blatantly unconstructive edits, and that using it to revert anything else (by revert-warring or reverting edits you disagree with) can lead to it being removed from your account...sometimes without any warning, depending on the admin who becomes aware of any misuse. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 18:55, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you!--Microcell (talk) 19:03, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
Hunter the Dog and Village pump
[edit]Hey Microcell, regarding Hunter the Dog, in future you can use {{db-animal}} for such articles. Also, I've replied to your comment at the Wikipedia:Village pump (miscellaneous), kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 17:52, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Hunter the Dog
[edit]Hi there. I noticed your tagging of Hunter the Dog as A1 (no context). Please note what it says on Special:Newpages: "articles should not be tagged for speedy deletion as having no context (CSD A1) or no content (CSD A3) moments after creation." The reason for this note is that new users may not understand that their contributions are live as soon as they hit "Save". After a few minutes (at least five, I'd say), it's OK to tag the article. Additionally, you have not left the creator of the page a message; this is important to remember. Cheers, Mm40 (talk) 17:52, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- I imagine no warning was given because the page was deleted seconds after the tag was added. As such the history was lost to the view of a normal user and so Microcell wouldn't be able to see who created the page. Happens to me sometimes, SpitfireTally-ho! 17:58, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hello. Actually there are lots of such articles that are created persistently, and anyway the project doesn't lose much informative content after deleting a page consisting of "*** is cool" or something like this. If its author has wanted to create a full-fledged article on the subject, he may start it again. About notifying - thanks, I'll be aware of it.--Microcell (talk) 18:01, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Excessive use of Rollback?
[edit]Microcell, I think you are using rollback too much. You've used it 142 times since you were given it two days ago. Out of your total of 374 edits in article space (report) since setting up your account, 253 of them were undo, rv or rollback, i.e. you have at most 121 other contributions to article space. That doesn't give you much experience with finding and citing references, like in the Roy Phillips article. I think it is great that you are undoing vandalism, and I know it is hard work, but please be careful not to risk hurting good-faith editors. Best regards - Pointillist (talk) 18:59, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- If tomorrow I have enough time, I'll comment on your reply in details, thanks.--Microcell (talk) 19:08, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Unless it is very importatnt to you, let's leave it for now. As I said, I think it is great that you are undoing vandalism. I can see your heart is in the right place: I was just reminding you when not to use rollback. If you do find some time to spare tomorrow, there are better things to do here than argue with me, anyway! - Pointillist (talk) 23:29, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
DYK nomination of Marko Vovchok
[edit]Hello! Your submission of Marko Vovchok at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Linking to dates in articles
[edit]MOS:UNLINKDATES states that dates "should only be linked when they are germane and topical to the subject." Please don't revert the edits of users who unlink dates in articles Eugeniu B +1 16:06, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was unaware of this recommendation - that user's edits with nothing but dewikification and without edit summaries looked as newcomer test.--Microcell (talk) 17:13, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Lera Loeb VS. Валентинія
[edit]About your question here I didn't look carefully before making the edit. Annoying person than Ms. Loeb by the way; insults the Ukrainian culture to justify her own moral chooses (see page 2 (bottom) of the reference) After talking to my parents, I found a possible solution: to advertise myself on an international marriage brokerage website. These agencies charge men, mostly from the United States and Western Europe, hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars to match them with a foreign bride, usually from poor or developing countries like Ukraine. In the States, it would be shocking for parents to accept that their 19-year-old daughter would do such a thing. But back home, finding a husband this way was just part of the culture, at least for those women who didn’t come from a wealthy family, and I didn’t know anyone who did. Many girls I grew up with were on the marriage hunt by the time they turned 18, and several had used brokers to meet Western men. Unless she considers most Ukrainian woman are from a wealthy family she is not of high moral standard. — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 17:24, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hello. To tell the truth, I'm absolutely indifferent to fashion and don't have a clue who she is.:-) I just saw this your edit and corrected it, as there is no such name (Валентин is a male name, Валентина is a female one), and the name Valeri(y)a is evidently transliterated as Валерія. Btw, in case you have any doubt how to translate the name - use Google Translator (it seems to know ordinary names) or feel free to ask me. :-) --Microcell (talk) 18:03, 15 December 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Ukraine Barnstar | ||
'I give you this Ukraine Barnstar for writing tons of new Ukrainian related articles the past months and for creating requested articles! Keep it up! — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me! 21:02, 15 December 2009 (UTC) |
- Oh, accept my gratitude, I didn't expect it=). Five articles - it's far from tons, but, inspired by your support, I'll try to do my best. If only I had a bit more time...--Microcell (talk) 15:01, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
I removed the R3 tags you placed on two articles (here and here) because they did not satisfy the "recent" requirement. As I said in the edit summaries, you are more than welcome to pursue other avenues, such as RfD. Also, in the future, it's usually easier for everyone if you put the tag before the redirect itself - that way people know the tag is there when they get to it. Thanks. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 19:44, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- OK, more then can be regarded as a "common misspelling or misnomer". And is there the word Febrary in any dialect of English? At least, Lingvo doesn't know about it.--Microcell (talk) 20:34, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- Agreed. I'm not saying they weren't both typos or "errors." If you read the R3 criterion, however, you'll notice that the very first word is "recently," which is usually construed to mean a couple of days, not months or years. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 22:02, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
- So, if I create a redirect with a manifest typo and someone detects it only after a year it won't be deleted? A queer criterion.--Microcell (talk) 09:57, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- Not by R3, anyway. The logic is that after a few days, there may be non-trivial usage of it and its existence should be subject to the easily obtainable consensus at WP:RFD. ~ Amory (u • t • c) 12:22, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- Seems strange, especially when a redirect is evidently of no use...--Microcell (talk) 15:16, 22 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi Microcell. I have tried to make the Wiki entry for Henry Herbert, the Savile Row tailor. But there seems to be a few problems with it. Can you help me fix them? CortoMaltese —Preceding unsigned comment added by CortoMaltese007 (talk • contribs) 18:34, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
- Hello! Yes, I've looked, but I hardly will be able to do something with it as I don't know anything about the brand. Most problems are probably with WP:NPOV, WP:SOAP and WP:REF, as far as I see. Read up these rules and try to do it on your own (at least, try to dispose of words like unusual or well-documented). If you have any questions, I'd rather you asked more experienced users than me, preferably one of the sysops. Thanks, --Microcell (talk) 19:13, 24 December 2009 (UTC)
- Many thanks. Can you give me a name of a Sysop, as I can't find one. Many thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by CortoMaltese007 (talk • contribs) 20:49, 25 December 2009 (UTC)
- There are 1700 of them generally, so you have a choice. :-) WP:LA for instance provides the full list of administrators, but the best way I know to catch one of them is to look at this thing - it's the log of recent deletions, so you can ask anyone who's present in it closer to now - he's most probably online now.--Microcell (talk) 21:03, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

RfA Thanks
[edit]Dear Microcell, here is a little note to say thank you for your kind vote on my request for adminship which failed with a final result of (40/19/12).
Thank you for your participation in my RfA which I withdrew after concerns of my knowledge of policy. Special thanks are owed to Coffee, who defended me throughout and whom I cannot thank enough for the nomination; to 2over0 for being supportive and helpful; to A Stop at Willoughby for the thorough, thoughtful and articulate support rationale; to IP69.226.103.13 for maintaining composure and for a pleasant interaction on my talk page and, last but not least, to Juliancolton who was good enough to close the RfA at my request and, frankly, because an editor whom I respect so much found the time to support me! If the need for more admins at the main page is still apparent in a few months, I may try again. Thank you all for a relatively drama-free RfA and for providing me with much material from which to learn from my mistakes. You're all welcome to drop by my talk page any time. God save the Queen Wiki! HJMitchell You rang? 20:35, 29 December 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Microcell! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 154 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
