Speedy deletion nomination of What is Scan-A-Line?[edit]

Hello TheRealDJMullen,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged What is Scan-A-Line? for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Blythwood (talk) 23:22, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your article[edit]

Hello. Thanks for your comment. There are some problems with the article which are why I thought it isn't right for Wikipedia, and maybe more appropriate for your company website or a blog.

  • It doesn't have any sources. This makes it hard to accept as an article since I can't tell if the material in it is true.
  • In addition, the lack of sources meant that it isn't possible to tell if it's notable or not.
  • It is written like a Q&A on a company website, not as an article. Here is an article on another technology - you'll see it is titled after the technology, not 'What is phototypesetting?'
  • "This is no different than if Thomas Edison had published an article on the lightbulb. In fact, it is exactly the same thing." Wikipedia discourages writing about yourself.

I've put an explanation about the problem with writing about yourself below. It's an automated text which I didn't write. Please let me know if you have any questions. All the best. Blythwood (talk) 07:20, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
