why is this not default

Hello :) first of all the script is sadly not working for me. I deleted all cache and I still cannot see folded references.

I was also wondering why this isn't the default in Wikipedia, unfolded references give the impression of a new reader that a page will be way longer to read that it actually is. Cinemaandpolitics (talk) 11:36, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reporting that it isn't working. This is likely due to some recent changes that were made to the headings of sections. I'll look into it later this week. As to why it isn't default; mostly because Wikipedians want readers to be very aware of the references. There is enough places for superficial consumption of information in this world, we want to encourage inquisitive minds to do research and to be very aware of how Wikipedians do their research. —TheDJ (talk • contribs) 14:47, 30 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
