Draft:Wang Hsin

Hello TheBirdsShedTears,

In the draft: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Wang_Hsin Ref 6 and 7 are personal interviews in depth in Chinese on Taiwan's biggest magazine and daily News in 2016. Then the interviews disseminated to foreign countries causing namecheck reports in Canada (Ref 8), India(Ref 9) USA (Ref 10), Brunei (Ref 11) and etc, which should meet notability requirement. This page is also English translation from Chinese wiki in 2017 for your ref: https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%8E%8B%E4%BF%A1_(%E5%8F%B0%E7%81%A3%E6%96%87%E5%AD%B8%E5%AE%B6)

Thank you very much for your re-consideration regarding the draft. Best, Kenshin2021 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenshin2021 (talkcontribs) 08:35, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Kenshin2021 please don't overload your draft with Too Many Refs. Provide a few great sources in accordance with WP:SIGCOV and consider removing interviews. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 08:54, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

Got it, will remove Ref 8, Ref 9 and Ref 11, leaving only important news event+interview link, thank you for the instructions. Kenshin2021 (talk — Preceding undated comment added 11:48, 11 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News

Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.

  • AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
  • The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.

Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)

Page mover granted

Hello, TheBirdsShedTears. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Primefac (talk) 13:50, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

I'm a bit confused by your closing statement on the RM at Talk:Radio 1 FM (Gambia): "The" is not needed neither it is a mandatory disambiguator. Please see Gambia national football team, Gambian nationality law, Gambia Regiment, Gambia Armed Forces

This seems like a novel argument that doesn't reflect the content of the discussion (i.e. a WP:Supervote). I would suggest reopening the discussion to allow another editor to close it. Colin M (talk) 16:29, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

Colin M, this neither a novel nor a confused RM argument. It seems "the" is not required as other articles do not have "the", for example Gambia national football team. Do you think it should be The Gambia national football team, The Gambian nationality law, The Gambia Armed Forces etc? TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 16:34, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
I don't think descriptive titles and titles with parenthetical disambiguators can be compared in such an apples-to-apples way. But in any case, my immediate issue is not with whether the argument is valid per se - it's that it doesn't reflect the discussion in the RM. No-one brought up comparisons to these sorts of articles, and the view that "The" should be optional does not seem to have been expressed by any of the participants. Colin M (talk) 16:42, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
Colin M, i know "the" is an official part of Republic of The Gambia, but we still don't need "the" in disambiguation since we don't have other articles with the same title that needs to be distinguished from "The Gambia" and "Gambia". TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 23:13, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
Okay, it doesn't look like we're going to come to a consensus on this, so I'm going to open a move review discussion. Colin M (talk) 23:26, 18 February 2022 (UTC)
Here's a link to the MRV in case you'd like to participate. Colin M (talk) 23:29, 18 February 2022 (UTC)

Great job, thank you for removing our link.

Ganesh (2009 film)

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Ganesh (film) a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Sawol (talk) 04:45, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Hello, TheBirdsShedTears,
I'm not sure what is going on with these two articles. They probably should be merged but the much older article should be kept and not be made a redirect for a newly created article. Liz Read! Talk! 04:47, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Sawol and Liz, i tried to rename the page as RM consensus. I ran User:Ahecht/Scripts/pageswap but seems it failed to correctly process the request and blanked the page instead of moving. When i failed, i copied the content from requested page and pasted into proposed title. TheBirdsShedTears (talk) 04:50, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
