Caste

[edit]

Per our WP:CASTEID policy, caste in a biographical article, especially living individuals can only be mentioned if they have self-identified it (interview, tweet, etc). That is, they should mention in first person something like "I belong to XYZ-caste". Hope it helps. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:46, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

so the thousands and thousands of websites, articles, videos, news channels telling his caste is not enough for you? Tejas mohan vats (talk) 19:49, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not for me, but the Wikipedia community. That's the consensus. If you want castes to be mentioned in biographies, find interviews of the subjects where they explicitly mention it. Perhaps you need to read the WP:CASTEID policy/consensus again, if not already. -Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:54, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Surajbhan Singh. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Do not change the name of the subjects without official sources in support. And caste requires self-identification in an interview for a living person per WP:CASTEID. So refrain from adding it again and again. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:15, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

i just wrote the truth,a group of people are continuously exploiting kam dev misir and dham dev misir page.It appears you are biased with them. Thatonewikipediadude (talk) 15:40, 5 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Anjana Om Kashyap. Caste requires self-identification in an interview for a living person per WP:CASTEID and atleast a source mentioning it in the case of a dead person. Stop adding caste in articles again and again without fulfilling these criteria. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 18:26, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
