April 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to Bishop Chatard High School appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Apologies[edit]

My apologies. I didn’t think about adding a source for Lily & Madeleine or for Madeleine as a Chatard alumni, because I’m friends with them. I tried to go back to add a source, but couldn’t add it. Sorry again. Thartley1018 (talk) 21:06, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Thartley1018. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Lily & Madeleine, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Please note also that notability, as we use the term on Wikipedia, does not in any way equate with fame. Notability simply means the subject has been written about in detail in multiple reliable sources. Neither of these girls has been individually written about at all. Their duo is notable. Individually, they are not. Please do not add her name to that school article again unless someone writes a Wikipedia biography on her. That someone should not be you. Concluding[edit]

Ok. Thank you. My apologies again. It won’t happen again. Have a nice day. Thartley1018 (talk) 22:06, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
