User talk:Thank you for visiting wikipedia!
Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Please read the rules for wikipedia. If you make a talk section it should have some meaning. Your text should not be in the header. Being bold is not removing large sections for no reason. Edits must have content and should be sourced. Don't put "This band hails from the chicaog area to my knowledge" in a header. Put the header as hometown or something and then use that as the text. Just read the rules please. gren グレン 03:45, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Your edits to the talk page are still nonsense. Sign your posts with ~~~~ at the end of them (or you can click the button). Also read Wikipedia:Talk page as a guide to using talk page. gren グレン 03:53, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Please do not get annoyed with me. Wikipedia runs by having certain standards and we all must adhere to them. gren グレン 03:55, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Okay, sorry if I'm being too harsh here. I'm just tryin to help you with your edits. If you have any questions feel free to ask, but if you're doing something wrong I am telling you. I'll give you a break, sorry if I'm coming off in a bad manner. gren グレン 03:56, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Here is what you should have added (in code) to the Nitro talk page:
== Hometown ==
I believe that Nitro comes from Chicago ~~~~
Something along those lines. Relatively short header, sentence about your point, and signing your post. Also, on my talk page you can just use the one section you originally created when you respond. Use colons (':') to indent each time so it's easier to read. gren グレン 03:59, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Getting started
[edit]
Sorry, I didn't mean to be harsh. In fact, I'd like to welcome you.
Welcome!
Hello Thank you for visiting wikipedia!, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --Pharos 04:30, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
Current events
[edit]
Please format your current events stories in a similar manner to other stories already on the page. Also, if you are covering a story which is dealing only with the US, and has little significance for other countries, it might be more appropriate to add it to United States current events. That page looks like it could be updated more frequently. I add quite a few stories to Current events in Australia and New Zealand, but very few of them are sufficiently important to go on the main Current events page.gadfium 05:33, 3 October 2005 (UTC)
