Units, Taurus

[edit]

Hello TMf, I saw your edits on Ford Taurus and agree with most of what you have done. One minor niggle: while 99% metric myself, I agree that a US car article generally ought to have US units. However, the sources cited for this portion are Australian. Since Wikipedia is more concerned with citability than veracity, one could argue that these particular elements should have remained conversions from kW. I won't change it back, as I would consider it impertinent nitpicking, just wanted you to be aware of how things work so that you won't be offended if a more rule-driven editor should revert it.

For future situations such as this, I have found this little trick useful:

{{convert|272|kW|hp|0|abbr=on|disp=flip}}, which gives: 365 hp (272 kW)

That way, one can respect the source while not offending the eye nor one's cultural preferences. And yay Oxford commas! Cheers, hope to see more of your work around the automobile pages,  Mr.choppers | ✎  05:29, 31 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
