Barnstar

The Original Barnstar
I award you this barnstar for a plethora of valuable contributions! After a thorough review your history here, I was very impressed with your work - especially in the areas of usernames for admin attention, articles for deletion, and fighting against vandalism. Let me know if you go for the mop. I would definitely support you.  JUJUTACULAR  19:10, 13 September 2009 (UTC)

Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
For your kindness in moving my userpage instead of deleting it. It's good to have people like you hangin' around this community.üüü ≈ Commit charge 16:40, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

I have shortened the article, removing what you considered advertising, but I ask you before you tag me again to consider, how is my edited information any different from the information on the article "Resort Quest" which reads, "ResortQuest International, Inc. is a vacation rental property management company headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, FL." If you agree, will you please untag the article on Dune Allen Realty?

Please see the edited article now which is no different than the information heading on the article of Resort Quest. Will you remove the tag now?

Dune Allen Realty is notable because it is a company who has been in existence for over fifty years in Santa Rosa Beach. I have changed the article to read simply, "Dune Allen Realty is a vacation rental property management company since 1958 located on the gulf coast of Northwest Florida in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida." There is no other information regarding high rise condominiums, etc, as it has all been deleted. Now the article only states who we are and what we do and where we are located. And furthermore, as to your comment, "At the same time, just because one article exists which does not meet the criteria for inclusion does not mean we should accept another," I say, if one article exist that does not meet your criteria and you leave it, and at the same time make a tag on another or delete another whose information is consistent with the one you left alone, then that is clearly discrimination. If my article is tagged or deleted, then so must Resort Quest be, otherwise you are discriminating against one company over the other.

Your rules, "Large organizations are likely to have more readily available verifiable information from reliable sources that provide evidence of notability; however, smaller organizations can be notable, just as individuals can be notable, and arbitrary standards should not be used to create a bias favoring larger organizations." I note that Resort Quest is a much larger organization. However, their organization provides the exact same service (in the same community, mind you) as does Dune Allen Realty, only Dune Allen Realty is a much older company with established local roots.

LESLIE BARNETT: NEW PAGE

Can I suggest you are being a trifle over-zealous? I did not have this much hassle when I created "Henry Jackson (Classicist)"! I think I am doing WIKIPEDIA a favour by creating this new page.

Unfortunately people are constantly creating articles which are vandalism or other content which does not contribute to the project. As such, there are criteria for an article's inclusion in the encyclopedia. When an article is created with no content whatsoever, there is no way to tell what you are doing, if it was a mistaken creation, if the person meets WP:N, or any way to tell what the article is supposed to be. That is why the criteria for speedy deletions exist. Basically if an article does not show why it should be included, it is tagged as such. I hope that you can look at this from my side as well, where I cannot evaluate the article if it has no content to go by. I encourage you to create the article, but I encourage you to work on it in a subpage in your userspace so you can work on the article at your leisure and then move it to the main article space once it is finished.--Terrillja talk 17:34, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Point taken! I have made a start on the article, but am hoping her daughter (recently arrived back from Australia) is going to add more substantial content very shortly. It makes a pleasant change to read comments from an editor who knows what he is talking about. Thanks for the above.
