Central University of Finance and Economics

[edit]

Regarding your recent edits to this page, I see that it's a work in progress and appears that it will be constructive, but since you are making large changes, you should consider working on additions to the article in your user space (you could create a page under User:Terence laoshi to temporarily work on the article, for example), and then placing this in the article when you are satisfied with how it looks. Just a suggestion. In the meantime, I have commented out the empty sections you left (with incorrect wiki markup) for you to restore once you have them working properly. I'm lost now. Everything was going fine at my end until you pullled me up. Nopw, I hav no idea where my work is. Is it lost? I didn't have the opportunity to save it again.

I undid the edit where you left random characters such as ssssddsd in the article, and commented out the article headers. If you look at the page source by going to edit this page, you will see that it is all still there but wrapped in comment tags <!-- like this -->. The only edit page I can find is missing most of the work I did this evening.

Don't get it. I'll leave it.

If you look at the history for the page, you'll see that the only things I removed were the nonsense repeats under each header (something like sdsdsddsds). I then commented out the headers you inserted <!-- like this --> to prevent them appearing in the article but to allow them to remain on the page. This now looks like:

<!--== School of Accountancy == <br/> == School of Applied Mathematics == <br/> == School of Business == <br/> == School of Continuing Education == <br/> == School of Culture and Communication == <br/> == School of Economics == <br/> == School of Finance == <br/> == School of Foreign Languages == <br/> School of Government Administration <br/> School of Information <br/> School of Insurance <br/> School of International Cultural Exchange <br/> School of Law <br/> School of Management Engineering <br/> School of Marxism <br/> School for Network Education <br/> School of Public Finance <br/> == School of Social Development <br/> School of Sports Economics and Management <br/> School of Statistics <br/> School of Taxation <br/> School of Training <br/> Shengrong School <br/> MBA Education Center <br/>-->

You'll be able to see this present when you edit the page, and you can remove the <!-- and --> tags to make it visible again. Please click 'Show preview' before you do so to ensure that it will appear the way you expect it to. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 18:00, 11 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, I can't see.

The code that you refer to isn't there ... just partially ... and nothing to close it out that I can find. I removed the partial code ... still nothing. This problem began when I placed 'nonsense typing' momentarily to help me figure out how to format. Then, I removed it and proceeded to replace it (over a period of hours) with pages and pages of relevant information. When you interceded, I seemed to be directed to another page mid-sentence. When I returned to where I was, everything was gone. Unless, you can show me where all of that information (perhaps 10 x A4 pages) is, it's obviously gone.

All changes made to any article on wikipedia can be seen on the history for that page. None of of the edits you made to the article even approached that amount of information, but occasionally when someone has edited the page before you have completed your edit, the feature to merge the two revisions does not always function correctly. In future when attempting to add such a large amount of information, I'd recommend working on a copy of the page in your user space to see how it looks and then updating the article when it's complete; you can do this by creating a page such as User:Terence laoshi/Central University of Finance and Economics to work on the article before submitting the new content onto the article. I'm sorry to hear that you lost so much of your work, but since it was never submitted into the article, it does not appear on the changelog. GiftigerWunsch [TALK] 07:32, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Long-term, it may turn out to be a cheap lesson. Thanks for your help. Terence laoshi (talk) 13:13, 15 May 2010 (UTC) Terence[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:CUFE building.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thank you for uploading File:CUFE building.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:39, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
