A tag has been placed on Asian Journal of International Law requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia, because it appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion process. If you can indicate how it is different from the previously posted material, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please contact the administrator who deleted the page or use deletion review instead of continuing to recreate the page. Thank you. Dear Jayjg - this page had been deleted last year due to the fact that the Journal had not been published. I understood from the discussion page that the case for creating it would be considered once the Journal had been launched. This has now happened and two issues published. Given the novelty of the first regional journal on this subject (compare the regional journals in Europe, Africa, and the American Journal) and the high profile of the contributors (two judges on the International Court of Justice and leading Asian scholars from the major jurisdictions), I believe that it is noteworthy and warrants a Wikipedia article. I apologize that I didn't contact you prior to re-creating the page. I understood that the person to contact was the deleting administrator TomStar81, but his page http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:TomStar81 states that he is no longer active on Wikipedia. Please advise what more information would assist in making the case to create this article? Best wishes, Tempwikisc (talk) 03:46, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
NB page restored as per discussion on User_talk:Jayjg. Tempwikisc (talk) 04:48, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Asian Journal of International Law has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication of notability in third-party reliable sources. Previously deleted in ADF based on the fact that it did not yet exist and had no indications of notability. The first issue has been addressed; it has now been published. However, it still has no indication of notablity. It does not meet WP:GNG (no significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject) or WP:NJournals (no indication it is considered by reliable sources to be influential in its subject area; is frequently cited by other reliable sources; or has a historic purpose or has a significant history).

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TJRC (talk) 18:13, 6 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message. I'll endeavour to address these concerns and explain grounds for inclusion on the the article's talk page. Tempwikisc (talk) 03:25, 7 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Simon Chesterman for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Simon Chesterman is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Simon Chesterman until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. —Yk Yk Yk  talk ~ contrib 14:38, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:AUTOBIOGRAPHY explicitly advises you not to create an article about yourself. Do not be surprised, and do not blame the community, should you come to regret your decision. elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 08:48, 22 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. I think there has been reasonable concern that most of your Wikipedia activity is related to promotion of topics that you appear to have a close affiliation with. You may want to review the edit history, talk and AfD pages of those articles: Simon Chesterman, Asian Journal of International Law, and One Nation Under Surveillance to see the precise objections of other editors. Non-free rationale for File:Surveillance Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Surveillance Cover.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page.
