Don't add short descriptions to redirects

[edit]

Adding the short description tag at the top of a redirect stops it from being a redirect anymore. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 10:21, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

wasn't aware i even did this (or it was a thing, sorry about that) where did i do it? Telpies (talk) 13:25, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about the terse message, but I was in a hurry yesterday. Anyway, this is the problematic edit. Adding short descriptions to articles that need them is totally needed though, and you should continue with those. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 01:57, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
shit sorry, i didn't realise this was a redirect because mobile didn't take me down to the subheading! thanks! Telpies (talk) 06:14, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, no worries. It was an easy fix. Just wanted to bring it to your attention before you did a ton of them. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 06:43, 22 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Short descriptions

[edit]

Hi, I see that you added 50 more characters to the short description at Project 2025. Short descriptions are for disambiguation purposes; they are not definitions. And they should be as short as possible, usually no more than 40 characters in length. See Wikipedia:Short description. Thanks, Esowteric + Talk + Breadcrumbs 07:54, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:48, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
