[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of name and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 07:15, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

The username was created by mistake and the same has been rectified. I DO NOT receive any monetary compensation for this work. The page is being create for a non profit working in Bangalore, led by the youth , doing a commendable job fighting climate change and serving the society. Upon unblocking I would be writing about their charitable campaigns and enuncoating on the various charitable programs undertaken by the NGO.

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username seems to be acceptable. However, you must review and comply with the conflict of interest and paid editing policies. Note that the paid editing policy applies even to unpaid-in-money volunteers of an organization, because you are compensated with the experience of the volunteer work. As you indicate you are only here to edit about your organization, there are no grounds to lift the block, and I am declining your request. If you wish to be a general Wikipedia contributor and edit about topics completely unrelated to your conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. 331dot (talk) 09:46, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I will add that you seem to have a common misconception of Wikipedia in that it is not for organizations to tell the world about themselves and what they do. This is an encyclopedia, and as an encyclopedia Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources with significant coverage(not press releases, staff interviews, the organization website, announcements of routine business, etc.) have chosen on their own to say about an organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Wikipedia is not interested in what an organization wants to say about itself; it can say what it wishes about itself on its own website and social media accounts. Not every organization merits a Wikipedia article, it depends on the sources. If you would like to be unblocked, please follow the instructions above. 331dot (talk) 09:46, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

This absolutely nonsense. Your policies make no sense. In fact your administrators are exerting prejudice without even knowing the proper context. First of all I have never mentioned I would NOT edit or contribute to any other articles.Secondly, I did not anywhere mention I was a volunteer for this organization. And your paid policy is absolutely biased and makes no sense. You speak so highly of your page and its policies, what about the number of accounts about various non profit organizations/charities etc which have their accounts in wikipedia? will you scrutinize each and everyone of them like you are doing to this? or are you saying this NGO is not worth to be on Wikipedia? This is completely biased, misleading and pathetic. I am quittimg wikipedia once and for all. Thank you for losing one of your most valuable readers.

Decline reason:

Since you say you are quitting Wikipedia, there is no need to address this block. If you change your mind, you may make another request. You stated that you do not receive "monetary compensation" which would suggest that you are a volunteer of the organization, if that is not true, please correct me. If you are aware of other accounts with inappropriate usernames or editing inappropriately, please point them out so they can be addressed, we can use the help, as we can only address what we know about. It is possible to get inappropriate content and usernames by us, as we are all volunteers here. If there are other topics you want to edit about, you just need to tell us what they are. 331dot (talk) 10:06, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
