Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article, or a draft for a Wikipedia article, about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Notable people who have edited Wikipedia). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mushq Officail, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Mushq moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Mushq. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. — Saqib (talk I contribs) 11:32, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:Tayyab121, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Tayyab121|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:16, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I saw what you wrote on your user page, presumably in response to the above query.
If you're not being compensated for your edits, then could you please describe, in your own words, what your relationship with Mushq is? Thank you, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 07:28, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As a professional content editor, I noticed that Mushq is frequently mentioned on social media and other websites, but I found that there was no corresponding entry on Wikipedia. My edits are motivated by my interest in ensuring that notable subjects have accurate and comprehensive coverage on Wikipedia. I have no personal or professional relationship with Mushq, and my contributions are made independently with the goal of enriching Wikipedia’s content.
Tayyab121 (talk) 07:44, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, but I find that hard to believe. You appear to have registered your account for the sole or main purpose of writing about Mushq. Over and over again.
Not only that, but you seem to have gone around photographing their outlets.
And you claim that their logo is your own work.
I don't see why you would do that unless you have some particular interest in this subject specifically, out of the infinite number of subjects you could have chosen to write about.
It's okay if you have a connection with this business, as long as you're honest about it. Properly disclosed conflict of interest does not prevent you editing; undisclosed one may get you blocked, however.
Would you like to reconsider your answer? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 08:52, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
that Mushq, a well-known entity on social media platforms, did not have a Wikipedia entry, I took the initiative to request relevant information from the brand to ensure the article would meet Wikipedia's standards for accuracy and completeness. This effort was undertaken independently and is not financially compensated. The article was published with the brand’s confirmation.
Additionally, I mistakenly attributed the logo to my work in the article, and I will correct this oversight promptly. This clarification is provided to ensure transparency regarding my contributions.
Thanks, Tayyab121 (talk) 09:18, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What does this mean: "The article was published with the brand’s confirmation."? -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:44, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Means I personally contact the entity persons from linkedin and told them that i need some information about Mushq so that i can upload their entity info on Wikipedia in article format. Can i create other entity articles other than mushq? Tayyab121 (talk) 10:05, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In other words you've been in touch with representatives from this company and have been provided information that you're using to edit the article? That sure sounds like a conflict of interest to me. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:09, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is indeed essential to understand the relevant aspects of a subject when contributing to Wikipedia. This is why I contacted the Mushq team to obtain accurate and comprehensive information for the article. I want to clarify that my work on this task is not financially compensated. I personally believe that Mushq, given its prominence on social media platforms, merits inclusion in Wikipedia's namespace. I hope this explanation clarifies my intentions and the nature of my contributions. Tayyab121 (talk) 10:28, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What it clarifies is that you may or may not be a paid-editor, but you certainly have a conflict of interest, which must be disclosed. You may choose not to do that, given that the Mushq draft has been rejected (and assuming you don't intend to create more versions of this), but my advice would be to disclose it anyway, rather than risk getting blocked as an apparent but undisclosed COI editor. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:34, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If I plan to upload additional articles about other notable entities on Wikipedia, what information should I include on my user page? Tayyab121 (talk) 10:39, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For any subject with which you have an external ('IRL') relationship of any kind, you must disclose this on your user page using the {{User COI}} template. Relationship can mean different things, eg. you are a current or past employee or shareholder of the organisation you're writing about, you personally know someone there, you've been liaising with or otherwise in contact with the subject, they are a friend or relative of yours, they are a competitor of yours, etc. This is a very general and broad definition of COI.
A more specific COI exists where you have been or expect to be paid or otherwise remunerated or rewarded, or you stand to gain financially (whether directly or indirectly) from your edits. In these cases you must make the disclosure using the {{Paid}} template instead. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 10:46, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you plan to upload more articles on Wikipedia about other notable entities and want to maintain transparency and professionalism, you should update your user page with information that clearly states your editing intentions and any relevant disclosures. Here’s a suggested format for your user page:
----
User Page Content:
I am a professional content editor with a keen interest in contributing to Wikipedia. My aim is to enhance the accuracy and comprehensiveness of Wikipedia articles by adding well-researched and verifiable information about notable entities.
Editing Goals
  • To improve and expand Wikipedia’s coverage of notable subjects, particularly those with significant mentions on social media and other platforms.
  • To ensure that all contributions adhere to Wikipedia’s standards for neutrality, verifiability, and notability.
Disclosure
I am not financially compensated for my edits or contributions to Wikipedia. All of my work is done independently and is driven by a commitment to the platform’s mission of providing reliable and comprehensive information.
Areas of Focus
  • Adding and updating information about notable entities in various fields.
  • Correcting and improving existing articles to enhance their accuracy and readability. @DoubleGrazing is this good now? should i publish this to my user page. if any changes do let me know
Tayyab121 (talk) 11:07, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Did this come from some sort of AI chatbot? If so, we would like to hear from you, not from a bot.
You obviously don't need to disclose anything if you're either editing on a subject that you don't have a COI in, or are not editing on one that you do have a COI in. It's when you're editing on a subject that you have a COI in that you must disclose that COI, disclose it ideally before editing, and disclose separately for each such subject.
You are allowed to create draft(s) for COI subjects, but not publish them into the encyclopaedia. And for subjects that are already published, you need to contribute by making edit requests via the article's talk page rather than editing directly yourself, except for minor edits such as correcting typos etc.
It seems that you're genuinely trying to understand COI editing, which is very good. That said, I'm rather worried if you're predominantly planning to edit on subjects where you have a COI, because that could be courting trouble, even for a more experienced editor. If in doubt, ask eg. at the Teahouse. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 12:03, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the guidance. I plan to separately disclose any potential conflicts of interest (COI) with entities on my user page. Currently, all the content I’ve published has no COI. Given this, do I need to make any changes to my user page at this time? Tayyab121 (talk) 12:11, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You said: Currently, all the content I’ve published has no COI. Which content do you refer to? It's already been established that you have a COI with regard to Mushq. And since writing the above, you have made seven edits, all of them directly related to Mushq. That doesn't tally with your commitment to disclosing potential COI. --bonadea contributions talk 10:44, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Bonadea
As previously mentioned, I have no direct affiliation with Mushq. While editing articles on Wikipedia, I discovered that the term "Mushq" was redirected to the unrelated article of Mushk. This led me to focus on creating a dedicated article for Mushq.
I conducted research and gathered data from various sources to provide accurate information about Mushq. Some of the data, such as the logo and store images, was sourced directly from Mushq's website, while other information was drawn from different reliable sources, which are cited in the article.
I kindly request that you review your decision regarding this article once more. Tayyab121 (talk) 11:05, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Additionally, you need to review WP:Reliable sources. Information you get by directly contacting a subject has not been published. At the least, it may not be used because there is no published source with which to verify the information. Further, you could be sanctioned for publishing original research to Wikipedia. —C.Fred (talk) 10:58, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
How can I determine if a source I’m using for a citation is reliable? Understanding this will be incredibly helpful for my research and contributions. Can you explain the key factors to consider? Tayyab121 (talk) 11:04, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Which parts of the content guideline do you understand, and which parts were unclear? —C.Fred (talk) 11:10, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a bit confused about the citation process. How can I determine which citations to include with an article to ensure they are accepted? Any guidance on choosing and using reliable citations would be very helpful. Tayyab121 (talk) 11:15, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The sources being cited should be reliable, and they should preferably be secondary sources, independent of the subject. Are you at least clear with the section about sources needing to have been published? —C.Fred (talk) 11:20, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
yes Tayyab121 (talk) 11:23, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If I am not in any relationship with a company but wish to write about it on Wikipedia, and am not being paid for this work, what should I include on my user page? Additionally, do I need to list my relationship with the company when publishing articles about other entities on Wikipedia, and should I detail all such relationships on my user page?

Tayyab121 (talk) 10:52, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, I am contributing to Wikipedia to better understand the platform's editorial processes and to expand the scope of information available by publishing additional subjects.
Thank You, Tayyab121 (talk) 07:49, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
331dot (talk) 11:02, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I frankly don't believe your claim that you are a "professional content editor" but not paid to edit about this company. Even if that is true, you have a clear conflict of interest with the company. Articles are typically written without any involvement from, or even the knowledge of, the subject. 331dot (talk) 11:04, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
