Cleanup suggestions from Reyn Spooner

[edit]

Hello, I published Reyn Spooner since it's less adverty (though still a little so), but more importantly the company has gotten a lot of media coverage over the year, that substantively discusses the company's history, impact, etc. So a totally valid encyclopedia topic.

Do note though, I had do do about 20 minutes cleaning up the draft, so take a look at what I did different so that next time you can write it cleaner from the start. Not hassling you, just saying that for next time you can make it easier on you and everyone. In particular, glancing at these guides might help:

  • WP:Refname: this is a very useful tool by which you can cite the same footnote multiple times without the clutter of pasting and listing it every time. Look at the footnotes on your page now, note how some articles you use a lot have a "2abcd" by them, so just showing that "footnote 2" gets used a bunch of other times, rather than re-listing it over and over, and also the code for a repeated footnote is just a few words long, saves a lot of clutter in the coding.
  • See WP:Citation style. Your citations were a really good first try, but terribly messy coding and display. I fixed them in a simpler way, but in the future you may want to just take the format at Template:Citation and just use that to plug-and-play
  • For future articles, don't negelect to check out GoogleBooks. There are a number of mentions of the commpany there, which you can use to substantiate various facts. Also note you can instantly make a GoogleBooks URL into a full footnote using http://reftag.appspot.com

Great job on sourcing by the way; a lot of newer editors have trouble really showing where they got data from, but you were quite thorough indeed in your sourcing, so you're on a good track there. I hope you'll stick around and continue to expand our fashion coverage. You may find it useful to drop into WT:WikiProject Hawaii and WT:WikiProject Fashion to give a brief hello; those projects might not have a ton of discussion every day, but you might run across some like-minded editors. Nice work on your first full article! MatthewVanitas (talk) 11:50, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
