Congratulations on the John Harvey & Sons entry. The background to your research, for this article update, illustrates some of the difficulties of paying too much attention to aural history. I am constantly discovering the unreliability of local historians who fail to quote their sources. I have also discovered that many highly respected historians quote from other historians who when you check their sources have used unverifiable records - traditions are made, and built upon gossip and imagination.
