Notes

[edit]

Hi! I have some notes for your draft:

  • Be cautious of putting things in quotation marks, as sometimes they can come across as scare quotes, even if this was not your intent.
  • This needs to be edited for tone - it's not overwhelmingly promotional, but it does come across as pro-trp.
  • This needs more sourcing in secondary reliable sources to establish notability for this NGO and to help flesh out the article further - you don't want to over-rely on only a few sources. Looking at the sources, it looks like this is primary, as the page's coverage of trp comes from a press release that they're hosting on the page along with other primary source documents. This is more of a mention in passing since the focus isn't on trp but rather the issue of treatment of how LGBT people are treated in Nambia. Out in Africa is good - I don't have a way to look into the book, but a synopsis view on Amazon shows that it's mentioned quite heavily. I would definitely use page numbers to specify which page you're using as a reference, though. You can do that with the rp (refer page) template by placing it after the book citation. The journal article should also be good, as long as it mentions the trp in depth.

As far as sourcing goes, this should be helpful, as should this. Definitely hit up your university library - it's going to be a huge treasure trove of options. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:04, 14 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Gay and Lesbian Organization of Witwatersrand

[edit]

Hello, Taliasharpp,

Thanks for creating Gay and Lesbian Organization of Witwatersrand! I edit here too, under the username Doomsdayer520 and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

Thank you for your new article on Gay and Lesbian Organization of Witwatersrand. I recommend paring down the article to information that has received coverage from reporters and experts, and trying to eliminate some info that is only of interest internally, like some of the things in the "Challenges and controversy" section.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Doomsdayer520}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.
