re: salute your shorts question
>>In the section Michael Comes to Camp:Quotes, is it "all the way from Norway" or is it really "all the way from Norwege"?
Hey, sorry for not getting back sooner. That quote is correct. It was supposed to show that Dina is kind of dumb. As far as I know, everything in that episode guide is correct. I actually wrote all the summaries and quotes while watching the show. (I have a lot of time on my hands right now). Although I didn't write those first two.
It's not a good show, but it is my favorite show from my childhood.

1) Eleassar, how did you figure 82.192.47.203 was California-based? Resolving the address to its hostname gives you telemach.net, a Slovenian domain.
2) Your comment script needs to be updated to include your new alias. My two previous attempts at making a comment failed using this link: http://wiki.riteme.site/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Eleassar777&action=edit§ion=new

No problem. I ran ping -a 82.192.47.203 from the command line in Windows (Linux also has a ping command). I think you may also find the tracert command interesting (traceroute, in Linux).

Slovenian/Slovene
Yes, I'll comment on the proposal. My first impression, before I stepped back for a while, was that it really needed to be shorter and sharper. I started a second draft, which I have at home, which I think covers the same ground, but hopefully in a more direct way. I'll re-read what I drafted and either post it or just make some comments. Dystopos 13:24, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
And this means?
1. Articles with Slovene in the title should be redirected to main articles using Slovenian. (Exception: Articles about organizations that use Slovene)
There is zero sense in having two definitions on the same thing. Slovene is a) another word for Slovenian, b) another word for Ilmen Slavs. The Slovenian disambiguation page covers Slovene as an adjective and noun (i.e. language, nationality, etc). BT2 5 July 2005 16:46 (UTC)
By the way, your "Leave me a message" link still points to Eleassar777.
The Slovenian Convention
I have a few serious issues with the conventions. For example, the idea that if an author initiates an article and employs Slovenian as an adjective, another user preferring Slovene can use it at will in the same article in the form of a noun. I think the mixing of Slovenian and Slovene in such way is unacceptable since it is: unnatural and confusing (the vast majority of -ia nations have only one word for the respective noun and adjective), and very seldom used.
I don't currently have time to address other items in the proposed policy. However, in general, I am in favour of it and appreciate the work and time Dystopos and yourself have put into it. Although I honestly believe Slovene is an undesirable term for Slovenians and should be shunned, I will refrain from replacing Slovene with Slovenian in secondary articles. BT2 6 July 2005 00:27 (UTC)
- Although it is true that this style is not seen very often, we have several notable sources recommending and/or using it: The New York Times, official Facts About Slovenia booklet, CIA and others and denying this would be a serious violation of NPOV policy. The current conventions say: "Articles that use the terms consistently in this manner should not be changed solely to comply with this guideline." I could also support it if we rephrased "where the original contributor used it consistently in this manner." However, you then have to ask Dystopos too if he agrees yet. --Eleassar my talk 6 July 2005 08:40 (UTC)
Neither the CIA nor NY Times stick to what they suggest. Both (https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/si.html and http://travel2.nytimes.com/2004/07/15/travel/NYT_ALMANAC_WORLD_SLOVENIA.html?ex=1120795200&en=51ea0a80e47c5b7e&ei=5070&ex=1109480400&en=5a907823dfefce38&ei=5070&n=Top%2FFeatures%2FTravel%2FDestinations%2FEurope%2FSlovenia) interchange Slovenian and Slovene within the same article they say Slovenian is the adjective and Slovene is the noun. The articles are not reliable. The CIA previously listed Slovenia as part of southeastern Europe while including countries east of Slovenia such as Slovakia in Central Europe. They've changed this in recent years. However, the NYT still places Slovenia in southeastern Europe. Michael Manske, a blogger following the NY Times erroneous defintions, was the first publisher of any kind I've come across to consistently stick with employing Slovene as a noun and Slovenian as an adjective. Mind you, contrary to the NY Times (http://travel2.nytimes.com/2004/07/15/travel/NYT_ALMANAC_WORLD_CROATIA.html?ex=1120795200&en=5846190e25c37afd&ei=5070&ex=1120795200&en=51ea0a80e47c5b7e&ei=5070&ex=1109480400&en=5a907823dfefce38&ei=5070&n=Top%2FFeatures%2FTravel%2FDestinations%2FEurope%2FCroatia), Michael chooses to use Croatian as BOTH adjective and noun. Unfortunately, his poor judgment is increasing such silly usage because of his blog's relatively large and impressionable readership. BT2 6 July 2005 10:38 (UTC)

Slovenians as Austrians, Austrians as Slovenians
What do you think of the following?
In the sixth century, as part of the great Slavic migrations out of the Vistula and Oder basins, the Slovene people crossed the Carpathians into the Danube plain, penetrating as far as the eastern Alps. In the eighth and ninth centuries the lands they inhabited were subject to Bavarian colonization as part of the Ostmark (Eastern March) of the Carolingian Empire. It is probable, although contested, that most current Austrians are German-speaking Slovenes while the Slovenes are Slavophone Austrians. In any case, for 1,000 years, Slovene history was Austrian history. Thus, like the Croats, Christianity came in its western (Roman Catholic) form.
It comes from the NY Times Almanac 2004! And also the Universal Almanac 1996 (of which I own a copy).
BT2 6 July 2005 10:52 (UTC)
Yes, this theory has some prominent adherents. See The Black Panther Story. --Eleassar my talk 6 July 2005 18:17 (UTC)
- But Dr. Šavli is saying Slovenians and Austrians are the same people, just speaking today a different tongue. The similarities between Slovaks and Slovenians (surnames, language, flag, beautiful girls) have always suggested strongly to me that Austrians are mostly Germanized Slavs (Slovenians/Slovaks). The Almanac, however, is not saying today's Austrians and Slovenians belong historically to the same ethnic unit. BT2 7 July 2005 01:44 (UTC)
I don't understand. The Almanac says that current Austrians are (German-speaking) Slovenes, while the Slovenes are (slavophone) Austrians. Therefore, the same nation, but with a different language. Am I missing something? --Eleassar my talk 7 July 2005 07:41 (UTC)
- Had the Almanac only said today's Austrians are really German-speaking Slovenians, then Slovenians and Austrians are of the same ethnicity. The Almanac is saying we are the opposite of what we think we are (i.e. today's Austrians are German speaking ethnic Slovenians, today's Slovenians are Slav speaking ethnic Austrians--Germanic, Slavic, or otherwise). Maybe they meant Slovenians and Austrians are the same people, but this isn't what was stated. BT2 7 July 2005 13:36 (UTC)
I think they say a=b and b=a, no matter what anyone thinks we or Austrians are. Nevertheless, after a reflection I too find their style of using Slovenian and Slovene odd and it would probably also need a further confirmation to be accepted. None of the authorities recommend it. I wonder where does it originate from. I mean, surely not from Manske's blog, as it is citing CIA and NY Times, not vice versa. If we can find this out, it will help a lot.
Otherwise, I unfortunately won't be able to hold this discussion for some time now, as I am leaving for Portugal. Br well in the meantime and we'll continue later. --Eleassar my talk 8 July 2005 15:32 (UTC)
Style (manner of address) for Popes
I was just wondering where you found that Popes lost the title His Holiness after death. I called around to several churches and all of them told me that it continued after death for all Popes. Is is only in some countries or for some versions of Catholicism? --TheGrza 02:42, July 15, 2005 (UTC)
medicine
hi,I am PhatRita, also a medical student. You may have seen the drive for an improvement on the state of the preclinical medical sciences have led to the start of the medical COTF. Knowledge seeker agreed that increasing the number and quality of articles is important as well as increasing the organisation of their layout and interlinking. I have recently started the wikipedia: WikiProject Preclinical Medicine project to solve the latter of these problems, as a complement to Knowledge seeker's project. Would you be interested in helping improve the state of the preclinical pages, especially anatomy and physiology? PhatRita 13:05, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
Immunosuppression
I am interested in the field, in as much as a GP I am trying to sort out a proper monitoring system for patients on such drugs (i.e. is it us or the hospital arranging the routine blood tests?). I presume you are aware of the Disease-modifying antirheumatic drug page, which is useful to distinguish from say anti-eczema or inflammatory bowel disease drugs. If (?when) I get time I was hoping to put in a patient-friend-orientated section or table as to what need monitor and how often, but currently working throug hcontraception pages first - I'll try to look inon this topic from time to time. why doesn't the artilces have refrences? like the artilce on"spirit world" there are no refrences, like the author, the page, the vol etc. how is this then going to be useful for research students. thank you.
- All articles should have references. I have added the template {{unreferenced}} on the page you mention, so that other editors can provide them. Thanks for your commentary. --Eleassar my talk 13:19, 10 October 2005 (UTC)
- This is incorrect. The article in question explicitly lists its references, at least insofar as the LDS theology part goes.
The "Spiritual World" article explicitly lists its references, at least insofar as the LDS theology part goes.
- Some of the sentences are referenced, while others are not. For example, I don't see any reference for the following "In LDS theology, the term spirit world refers to the realm where the spirits of the dead await the resurrection." or "The spirit world is believed to be a place of continued spiritual growth for those who have not consciously rejected the teachings of Christ."

“Medicine” on MCOTW
After a bit of inactivity, Medicine has been selected as the new medicine collaboration of the week. I am taking the unusual step of informing all participants, not just those who voted for it, since I feel that it is important that this highest-level topic for our collaboration be extremely well-written. In addition, it is a core topic for Wikipedia 1.0 and serves as the introduction to our other articles. Yet general articles are the ones that are most difficult for individuals to write, which is why I have invited all participants. I hope it isn't an intrusion; I don't make plan to make a habit of sending out these messages. — Knowledge Seeker দ 02:15, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

Why does Image:1988 Summer Olympics logo.png need a source beyond being the official 1988 Summer Olympics logo? AnonMoos 02:51, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- To be able to verify this is the original logo. --Eleassar my talk 11:52, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
- That's not what the "nosource" tag is for -- the "nosource" tag is for images which one has reasonable grounds to suspect are masquerading under false pretences in a way that will impact on their copyright status, or where the lack of source makes it very difficult to determine whether their claimed copyright status is correct. Neither applies in the case of Image:1988 Summer Olympics logo.png . And in fact, adding a "nosource" template is the first step in a process of getting an image deleted, whereas there seems to be no particular valid reason to delete Image:1988 Summer Olympics logo.png . Please don't tag things with drastic urgent "action" templates unless you really know what you're doing, and what they're intended for. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Abyssinian Roller
I question the point of putting the reqphoto template on bird articles. These articles always get images if there is one in the public domain, or if the species can be photographed in the wild or a zoo. The absence of a photo therefore means that there isn't one, and it's just irritating for somebody to lazily slap a template on instead of trying to find an image - of course, if you have an Abyssinian Roller you can photograph..... jimfbleak 16:00, 29 November 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion tag on template talk
Unfortunately, I had to revert your move of the text and the speedy delete template on Template talk:Genderneutral. As I had written on the talk page, and as evident from the change history, I originally had the text in a noinclude section, just like what you did. But that inserted random line breaks, and I was forced to remove the noinclude section altogether. (I tried it out in my sandbox.) May I suggest that you raise a wider issue on e.g. WP:TOL or one of its subprojects, or on Wikipedia talk:Naming conventions (fauna) about applicability of the reference you provided? Us mere mortals may just say mu regarding the correctness of the name. Duja► 18:26, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- I have contacted the TOL subproject on amphibians but have received no answer. After considering the question for some time, I think now the article should retain its current name till the new name gains wider acceptance. --Eleassar my talk 18:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
As no one else has commented, I believe that it is safe to modify the page in the matter you feel is most clear and useful. I someone gives you heck, send 'em to my talk page. I'm not an admin, but I think you handled the matter well enough to simply move ahead. We need more botany and plant folks, so please tackle additional articles in this area! Cool new wikEd feature and three new texts
Hi Eleassar,
here are three new texts for wikEd (the first two go into the empty lines under find/replace, the last goes after 'wikEdClearSummary title'):
'wikEdFindSelect title': 'Select a previous search or jump to a heading', 'wikEdReplaceSelect title': 'Select a previous replacement', 'wikEdSummarySelect title': 'Select a previous summary',
Thanks, Cacycle 02:14, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
New wikEd texts
// wikEd control buttons, top row 'wikEdRefHide alt': 'Hide <ref>', 'wikEdRefHide title': 'Toggle <ref> tag hiding',

wikEd translation update
Hi, the wikEd messages have been changed, see en:User talk:Cacycle/wikEd international en.js, please could you update your translation. You might want to move the translation to the English Wikipedia so that I can add the changes directly to the page. Cacycle 21:24, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Notable Wikipedian Tagging
I added the tag because I did the translations of the Himnusz and Szozat. These appear originally on my site [1], and I added them to the artciles, not as original research (which a full, wikipedia-only translation would be), but simply as an editor who found useful information elsewhere. Nonetheless, I have become involved in several discussions about the translations, and felt that I needed to make the potential for conflict of interest clear. The tag does not say anywhere that the notable wikipedian is who the article is about, nor that the article's name is his name; the actual line is "An individual covered in this article...". Both articles have my name in them. The tag seems appropriate amd necessary. Korossyl 17:40, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Notable residents at Celja
Hello, Eleassar! Pardon the unsolicited message, but I am wondering if you could take a look at Celje#Notable residents. There are a number of red-linked individuals there, but I do not know much about their notability. sl:Aleksander Cepuš has been deleted and restored from the en: article in particular. If you have time, could you use your judgment and remove less-notable individuals? Olessi 17:42, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- They also seem notable to me, including Aleksander Cepuš. Otherwise, contact User:XJamRastafire as he is from Celje and will surely know who really lives there. --Eleassar my talk 20:04, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for looking into the situation! Olessi 20:06, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
wikEd 0.9.44
Hi Eleassar,
what do you think about moving the translation page to the English Wikipedia so that I (as an admin) can add the changes directly.
Please make the following changes to the wikEd translation for version 0.9.44:
Change:
- 'wikEdDiff alt' to 'wikEdDiffPreview alt'
- 'wikEdDiff title' to 'wikEdDiffPreview title'
- 'wikEdDiff2 alt' to 'wikEdDiffPreview2 alt'
- 'wikEdDiff2 title' to 'wikEdDiffPreview2 title'
Add: under // wikEd control buttons, bottom row:
'wikEdDiff alt': 'wikEdDiff', 'wikEdDiff title': 'Toggle automatic improved diff view',
At the bottom of the page add a comma after the last entry, followed by
// from en:User:Cacycle/wikEdDiff.js 'wikEdDiffButtonImg alt': 'wikEdDiff', 'wikEdDiffButton title': 'Show improved diff view', 'wikEdDiffLoading': '...'
Thanks, Cacycle 01:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Portugal and templates
Hi Eleassar,
- ...it would be good to adapt the style of other navigational templates used at the bottom of Portugal also with [{{Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP)}}
I agree and hope a consensus is confirmed as to a consistent presentation of these templates in all the country articles. Meanwhile, I'm slowly trying to contribute to this goal and plan to pass by Portugal soon! Best wishes, David (talk) 17:57, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
Natterjack Toad
Hi. I just reverted some vandalism on Natterjack Toad and I saw that it was tagged as possibly inaccurate. You made a comment on the talk page about the classification being incorrect, and I was just wondering if that was what you were referring to. Natalie 21:27, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Concerning Image:2as.jpg
Please check the Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images page as I have comment on this issue. Please reply there. Abyssoft 14:04, 26 April 2007 (UTC) I must admit that due to the lack of Acom responding or commenting on this issue, I now lack confidence in the nature of the images. As is always the case, when one places trust in another that is later found to be misplaced, I am disheartened. I will have no choice but to modify my stance and agree to seeing it and others created by him deleted due to the questionable nature of them. Abyssoft 04:41, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

- Yes, it does. --Eleassar my talk 16:24, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
Sorry for the extra large picture! I have to say, i did know that it was technically the wrong image when i changed it, but it was already in use on the medicine wikiproject (and widely used by doctors worldwide, all be it incorrect). That said, i have a real aversion to the use of the star of life, as this is definately a pre-hospital, emergency care motif (and hence no more correct than a merchant symbol! Alzheimer's
I have enjoyed our discussion on the Alzheimer's talk page. I think we are really just going in circles. If everyone calls it a disease when it is really something else, is the definition of disease wrong or has everyone who has written/talked/researched Alzheimer's disease wrong? This is one of those questions that I will leave for the academics. --Chrispounds 13:31, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Question about image on Slovene Wikipedia
Good day. Can you help me to translate the description of sl:Slika:Janez jansa.jpg to English? I don't speak Slovene, but the description could decide whether we keep Image:Jansa2.jpg, which is a cropped copy of the Slovene Wikipedia version. Secondly, is it really a non-reproducible picture of a living person, as the copyright template on the original image says? Thank you. Pegasus «C¦T» 17:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
- The PR of SDS (political party) has given permission to use this image for Wikipedia only. It should be speedy deleted. --Eleassar my talk 22:21, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Festival of New Songs
An editor has nominated Festival of New Songs, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Festival of New Songs and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

Cities, towns and villages in Slovenia
Hi I've had a chance to look at the settlements in SLovenia today and the vast majority are a shambles and have been subject of a tagging plastering session because they are unreferenced and have multiple issues. Can we make it a project priority to clean up these pages and expand to an acceptable level, particularly the municipalities of Slovenia -thankyou ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:08, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
Well actually there was a reason why I linked to maplandia -it was to retrieve the coordinates for the maps. However I see the slovenian site has the coordinates which I will take note of in future. I didn't ask you about the OVL because to date you seem to have ignored my messages so I gathered I wasn't worth bothering with, or thats a tleast the impression I got. Anyway, thanks for the help ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 13:39, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
OK no worries its such similar recently started projects like WP:Hungary have 9 members and appear to have started as a seperate project. Regards ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 15:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

I know so is Murska Sobota and Nova Gorica . The reason I didn't create the one for Maribor earlier was because the landmarks were in slovenian. If you translate the landmarks listed on the Maribor page I can create one ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:19, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Because you would have to translate them twice. Once on the main page and the second time in the template. If it was translated on the main page I would be able to copy and paste it into the template. I'll create it now ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:28, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I've created it, just waiting for those translations so I can add the landmarks. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 17:34, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. The cities are the most important in regards to templates. As the municipalities develop and are researched I'm sure there will be many landmarks and people to add to the others like the cities at a later date. By this series eventually the settlements in the country and basic articles should be covered even if they are still stubs. ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:01, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
I've added the landmarks to Template:Maribor anyway . ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
Thats good. Can I just check with you a četrti is a city district/neighborhood but what is a skupnost? Is it a local community?. Once you have confirmed it I can remove list list from your talk page and add them to the template, without the slovene attatchments
♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:46, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, mestna četrt means a city quarter/district and krajevna skupnost means a local community. --Eleassar my talk 21:47, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
