"Loch is a Scottish Gaelic word for a lake or fiord, cognate with the Irish Gaelic lough, which has been borrowed by Scots and Scottish English to apply to such bodies of water, especially those located in Scotland. "
In the above, the antecedent of which is loch, not lough. loch is a Scot Gaelic word which has been borrowed by Scots (either a separate Germanic language, or a dialect of English, depending on whose opinion you follow) and Scottish English (that is English as used in Scotland). Perhaps the sentence could be reworded to make the antecedent clearer (e.g. by placing the middle clause in parentheses), but it isn't nonsense. Lavateraguy (talk) 12:57, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
